Just over 57 hours to go...

I really can't wait. In fact, I'm going to nc in a bit to honour the return of Tyrion, Robb, Jon Snow, Brienne and Arya.

Anyone else practically wetting themselves in excitment?

Yes I laughed at you little bastard, interested to see how they will develop that plot line, can't wait for Dany to kick arse, she really comes in to her own in this series.

yup, he's definitely not what he seems. Seems like they are throwing the whole Theon story in, which I'm pleased about, although I may well be watching it from behind a pillow.

yes, I think they are starting Reek from the beginning too.

I loved jaime in this episode, and hid behind my pillow for his hand.

Bit confused here. Who is the gang who've got Breanne & Jaime?

And the tall fella who has been captured by Paul Kaye's gang - didnt he swear to protect Sansa? How did he get out of King's Landing?

TIA!

MissSusan · 17/04/2013 14:14

Roose Boltons men Ladytron they are on their way to Harrenhall.

The hound left during the battle of blackwater, he basically told Joffery to go fuck himself and hasn't been seen until that point. He worked for Joffery so wasn't really protecting Sansa, although they did have a bit of a "thing" developing, he was kinder to her than others.

'Pod, sit down. We're going to need details. Lots of details'

I know it's not in the books but how I laughed. It was like GOT's answer to Samantha Jones.

life's going to go downhill fast for theon. His rescuer/captor is not a very nice man.

Does anybody watch the thronecast program afterwards. I have a strong urge to murder the presenter. Its all so fake - like they don't know whats going on. Surely they could find somebody who is genuinely interested in the series or at least please stop pretending like you don't know what is coming up.

I loved Dani at the end, just wow.

Grin I was tempted to watch again Vicar Dany was brilliant this episode. It's been good to see her grow in to a strong confident woman.
I feel sorry for Jaime too and Theon.
Roose Boltons men have brienne and Jaime, they are north men, have taken them for Robb Stark. They have taken Harrenhall which is where Arya was in series 2, Roose is with Rob Stark. They have a flayed man as his banner, you can recognise them by that.
The Brotherhood without banners have Gendry and Arya, Beric Dondarrion is their leader. He was sent by Ned Stark to capture Gregor the Mountain (the hounds brother) in the first series, but war broke out and they started protecting the common folk instead.
Can't wait for next week already, I think the whole series is going to be brilliant.
My dp was really gutted when Mormant died, he was another good guy.

Love the way Brienne and Jaime are playing the slow development of mutual respect.

I am also enjoying the Queen of Thorns pure brittleness.

The proposition of Sansa marrying Loras is a slight deviation from the book and likely to make any future disappointment for her even more wrenching. Sansa is really looking very thin, frail and even her hair seemed lank when next to Marjaery, she seemed just so sad.

The last few minutes were amazing, Dany is really coming into her own. This series is really shaping up.

I am so glad I have read the books though. My DH keeps asking who all the new.people are so bit hard to keep up I think without having read it. I am rereading it and loving it even more!

And yes, Thronecast is rubbish with weakest jokes and most annoying presenter ever (although quite like Grace Dent in it, more Grace less beardy man please).

I live for Monday nights, and to compound my sadness I also listen to 2 podcasts to get me through the week!

Luckily DP and DD are also fans, because there's no one at work to talk to about GOT.

Small gripe: while I enjoyed the light relief of Pod's unexpected prowess, I didn't like that the topic continued to be discussed by Varys and Ros this week. A joke's a joke, but don't give it too much importance.

Theon's story is exciting, nice for the show to be able to develop a storyline without much guidance from the book. Dany was absolutely awesome. OK it all happened a bit quick, but it was wonderful.

Ooh podcasts where are they on Cooroo?

Report
Cooroo · 25/04/2013 15:19

I get them from iTunes. All American -I'm afraid-. Specifically 'A Cast of Kings' (David Chen who hasn't read the books and Joanna Robinson who has) and 'Cast of Thrones' (about 30 young people say awesome -even more than me- a lot).

Anyone else really looking forward to tonight's episode ?
I wonder if it can top last weeks, I am expecting it to set up things for the climb and the RW so might be quite slow. But still, [very excited face]

A little slower but excellent - I loved the 'bath' scenes especially BRienne and Jaime. Wish he'd washed his hair though.

Resurrection of Beric a bit too easy I thought it took more effort in the book. Usual excellent Lannister family relations!

The bath scenes were really good, they are playing Jaime and Brienne just right. Sansa seemed to have more of a glow about her too after the promise of Ser Loras.

I felt really sorry for Arya, she seemed so forlorn when she realised she was losing Gendry too.

Tywin Lannister must be the most calculating and distant Dad ever. I love Tyrion, he didn't just think brilliant I get a young pretty bride and the heir to Winterfell have like lots of them would do, but actually thought about Sansa and what it would do to her - self denigration which would be completely alien to Tywin and Cersei, but not Jaime as we also saw.

I love Tyrion. He is one of my favourite book characters and Peter Dinkelage plays him brilliantly.

Cooroo I downloaded the podcasts and really enjoyed them (once I had got used to the 'awesomes'). Best of all I got to play the GOT music in my car!

Report
catsmother · 30/04/2013 11:53

Totally agree Gingerdodger - Tyrion is one of the best, if not the best characters in the books and Peter Dinklage steals every scene he's in. He has the ability to convey so much in a single expression.

Report
Cooroo · 30/04/2013 13:17

Had to laugh at article in the Daily Mail apparently praising GOT, which described Tyrion as 'a sex-crazed dwarf'.

Not only do I love the series, but it is the only time in the week when me, partner and DD16 sit down together, all rapt!
