Just over 57 hours to go...

I really can't wait. In fact, I'm going to nc in a bit to honour the return of Tyrion, Robb, Jon Snow, Brienne and Arya.

Anyone else practically wetting themselves in excitment?

OP posts:

Ooooh looking forward to seeing the Queen of Thorns!

TrampyPants · 06/04/2013 12:11

me too Trills, Robb's marriage is going to be uncovered by the Frey's too by the looks. You know what that means, don't you?

Trills · 06/04/2013 12:13

I much prefer Robb's wife in the TV show to in the books - she actually has a personality. I want to see how she is around the wolf. Book-Mrs-Robb was scared of his wolf, which as far as I am concerned is proof that it was never going to work out, even without the Freys.

TrampyPants · 06/04/2013 12:16

I've just found the episode titles too!

3×01 ? ?Valar Dohaeris?
3×02 ? ?Dark Wings, Dark Words?
3×03 ? ?Walk of Punishment?
3×04 ? ?And Now His Watch is Ended?
3×05 ? ?Kissed by Fire?
3×06 ? ?The Climb?
3×07 ? ?The Bear and the Maiden Fair?
3×08 ? ?Second Sons?
3×09 ? ?The Rains of Castamere?
3×10 ? ?Mhysa?

some of those are pretty obvious, I assume 3/04 is the nights watch uprising 3/03 would be Beric v The Hound and again they've put the most exciting/turbulent episode as the penultimate.

TrampyPants · 06/04/2013 12:16

me too, you can see WHY he fell for her can't you? Cat was right about Grey Wind, all along.

Trills · 06/04/2013 12:19

I think that we don't see enough of the wolves.

TrampyPants · 06/04/2013 12:23

I agree. They are such a huge part of the books, what with the Warg connection and so on, it seems that they blew the cgi budget on Dany's dragons so that we rarely see her without them, so why can't the same be said for the Stark children? there is no mention of Nymeria, in the book Arya still has the ferocious link to her direwolf.

Anyone else think Rickon will grow up to be a bit messed up?

Trills · 06/04/2013 12:26

Rickon is already a bit messed up!

ValarMorGoolis · 06/04/2013 12:27

I agree about mrs robb, I much prefer telly version.

TrampyPants · 06/04/2013 12:46

Grin the question is, will he end up a Jon, a Theon or a Ramsay...

Mrs Robb just has more depth. in the book it read like he married more out of honour, on tv he married for love.

OzmaofOz · 06/04/2013 13:47

Yes Rickon will definitely be a it messed up but then so will the rest of the Stark children.
It will be good to catch up with him in the next book, I wonder if he knows about the RW ?

expatinscotland · 06/04/2013 14:14

In the books Roose says if he has any more sons Ramsay will kill them all, but his wife, Fat Walda, is pregnant in the last one.

MoominmammasHandbag · 06/04/2013 17:42

I haven't read the books for ages but wasn't Robb bewitched/drugged into sleeping with and consequently marryinng Jayne? All set up by the Lannisters to break the alliance with the Freys.

TrampyPants · 06/04/2013 17:59

No, he was devestated on hearing that bran and rickon were dead and she had been taking care of him. Her mum was involved, she pushed them together, and stopped her getting up the pole as promised to tywin, iirc.

Trills · 06/04/2013 18:10

He was injured and sad, she looked after him, they shagged, he did the "honourable thing" and married her. Because someone had taught him that you must marry girls if you shag them.

TrampyPants · 06/04/2013 18:19

this is as well as growing up beside his dad's son by some random woman... Wink

Trills · 06/04/2013 18:22

The way that Catelyn treated Jon Snow will have had a part in it - Rob wouldn't want any potential child of his to have that life.

TrampyPants · 06/04/2013 18:24

true, I never really warmed to Cat. She was awful to Jon, not particularly fond of Arya, iirc, and then theres rushing off to leave Bran, then staying with Robb...

She disobeyed Ned by going to Riverrun to be with her father rather than returning to Winterfell even after she knew Robb had left to defend The Neck and Moat Cailin.

Family, duty, honour Wink
I watched the series before I read the books and didnt really like her until I read her POV.

Trills · 07/04/2013 10:37

I suppose Robb also saw how Jon's existence hurt his mother, and wouldn't want to do that to his future bride either

TrampyPants · 08/04/2013 17:26

We see the brotherhood today, as well!

Whathaveiforgottentoday · 09/04/2013 11:17

Enjoyed the episode but confused about theon's story. It seems quite a deviation from the books. No mention of reek or have I forgotten part of the book? I know they change quite a bit in the adaptation but thought the reek story would be in it?
