Just over 57 hours to go...

I really can't wait. In fact, I'm going to nc in a bit to honour the return of Tyrion, Robb, Jon Snow, Brienne and Arya.

Anyone else practically wetting themselves in excitment?

'Yes I think Ben could well be cold hands, the cof said he had been dead for a long time though - how long has he been missing for ? '

He went missing quite early in the first book, days after he brings Jon to the Wall he goes out looking for Ser Royce, whom we know was killed by The Others and comes back as a wight. He's never heard from again and by the middle of the first book is presumed by many to be dead.

Stokes · 05/04/2013 07:41

I don't think the Aegon we met in DWD is the real Aegon, I think he's the mummer's dragon from dany's vision - someone of the right colouring placed with illyrio (can't spell and too lazy to check!) by varys to be raised to think he's Aegon.

Trills · 05/04/2013 09:37

Sorry expat - it looked as if you were saying that Aegon would have priority because he was older when you said this because the timing of his birth trumps Danaerhys' claim since she was born after him and he is the oldest surviving Targaryen.

And yes, in Dorne the eldest child inherits regardless of sex, which made things interesting when they were sending Myrcella over there. :)

With any "lost Targeryens" the trouble is that nearly all of those who would have been involved at the time are either dead or extremely untrustworthy!

If they really do have a "magical connection" to the dragons (or the immunity to fire that TV-Dany thinks she has) then it'll be easy to see if they are "true" or not, but if there is no magical dragon connection (if the old Targaryens just had knowledge of dragon-training that is now lost) then it may be impossible to ever find out.

expatinscotland · 05/04/2013 10:32

That was before I just gave up trying to hide spoilers, Trills, as you can see, it's now a free-for-all here :o.

Could be, Stokes, but then Varys knocks off Kevan Lannister and tells him it's for the good of the realm, for the one is coming, and Varys refers to this one as 'he', who rules because he believes it to be his duty rather than his right. Although those strange children are a bit bizarre, but then, Varys has a background in grooming children for thievery.

Some things just get left to the imagination, probably. Such as who Jaquen was sent to kill, is Benjen Coldhands - only two of the men he took with him were found, as wights, so where are the rest, where is Eddric Storm, where did Littlefinger send Jeyne Poole before she was wheeled out to be the fake Arya (more than likely, a brothel), Tyrion promise the Eyrie to his first band of sellswords - does he know a way to take it, what has Lady Stoneheart been up to and how does a being such as her or Lord Beric finally die, did Sam et al make it to Oldtown and did Gilly and Mance Rayder's son get to the Tarlys. All kinds of loose ends!

expatinscotland · 05/04/2013 11:45

And the penultimate question, will it ever be answered: Where do whores go?

Trills · 05/04/2013 11:56

No. No I don't think so. And I don't think it would be a beautiful reunion even if we found out.

OzmaofOz · 05/04/2013 12:38

No I don't we will find out either, I really don't want to, like expat said I doubt it will be a happy reunion.
And who is Septa Lemore ? Ashara maybe or The white fawn ?

OzmaofOz · 05/04/2013 12:39

Like Trills said sorry

expatinscotland · 05/04/2013 13:07

Martin doesn't do happy endings Wink. I doubt we'll find out where whores go and if Tyrion will ever find Tysha. He may even contract the pale mare and die. Hopefully Euron, Victarion and Ramsay Bolton will be finished off, though.

expatinscotland · 05/04/2013 13:08

Maybe Arya will be hired to kill off Ramsay Bolton :o.

OzmaofOz · 05/04/2013 13:49

With a Robb Stark sends his regards Wink that would be great.

TrampyPants · 05/04/2013 17:44

I had a brief thought that tysha could be melisandre. I would love arya to off bolton though. Leechy turd that he is!

expatinscotland · 05/04/2013 21:38

Roose doesn't seem over-enamoured of his son. Wouldn't put it past him to hire a Faceless Man of Braavos.

expatinscotland · 05/04/2013 21:50

Of course, her kills via Jaqen in the books are Chiswick, Weese and then Jaqen himself.

expatinscotland · 05/04/2013 21:55

She kills The Tickler herself, and goes so overboard The Hound has to pull her off. 'Where is the gold? Where are the gems? Where is Lord Berric?' It is actually Sandor Clegane, who first teaches her how to give mercy.

Syrio faced Ser Meryn at the last, not Janos Slynt.

But it's a great scene when she winds up in port for ship and gives all she has up to the Braavosi captain. He refuses her, then she pulls out the coin Jaqen gave her, which is actually very worn iron. And says the words.

He takes it and replies, 'Every man must serve' and tells her, 'Of course you shall have a cabin.'

expatinscotland · 05/04/2013 21:56

I really need to watch the films!

expatinscotland · 05/04/2013 21:58

She does in fact give an axe under attack, but it goes to Rorge, who breaks their chains with it.

MoominmammasHandbag · 05/04/2013 22:22

I'm loving the theory that Tyrion is really a Targaryen. Tywin doesn't deserve to be Tyrion's father. I agree that something just does not sit true about the substituted Aegon story.
Tyrion, Jon and Dani to ride the dragons, Tyrion to save Westeros and Jon and Dani to live happily ever after.

expatinscotland · 05/04/2013 22:36

Ok, SPOILER!

the Red priest Morro told Tyrion of his vision of Tyrion.

'Dragons old and new, and you in the middle, snarling.'

But he told him of another vision, of a one-eyed octopus, with ten arms, floating on a sea of blood.

Euron, most likely, but who knows.

Morro survives to tell Euron's brother the same, and also tell him of how the dragon horn is used. 'All Euron's gifts are poisoned,' is how Victarion, his brother, puts it.

HarderToKidnap · 05/04/2013 23:27

Is there any chance the hound is still alive?

expatinscotland · 06/04/2013 00:56

He needs a red priest quick :o

EhricLovesTeamQhuay · 06/04/2013 09:21

We don't know that the hound is dead, just assumed as he had septicaemia and his helm was stolen.

Stokes · 06/04/2013 09:28

There is a theory that Sandor is alive - the comment that the hound is dead referring to this persona and that he has given up who he was.

TrampyPants · 06/04/2013 11:45

Isn't the hound supposed to be the grave digger?

oh, and this week we see The Queen Of Thorns!!!!

ValarMorGoolis · 06/04/2013 12:01

Don't think roose would kill Ramsay. He says he has no time to raise another heir, even if he has sons by walda Frey.
