Have started a new thread as the old one won't accept my message. So I'll repost it here:

Fuzz has form for being beyond thick. Remember the whole stape thing? Her character is just incredibly stupid. You'd think she would learn her lesson. Running away 'on a fishing boat' with £200 is like a story from a 16th century novel.

Re the abduction I think they were wrong. Lots of mums keeps kids from fathers for all manner of selfish reasons and abduction is not the answer. However I do think ty was desperate. But why won't he just let the court decide ffs. He's got loads of evidence. I'm getting to the point in this story where I'm actually ready to punch him myself! In fact have felt a tiny bit sorry for k when they stole ruby. Surely the writers can't have intended for this to happen? God knows. Im away next week so hopefully I'll miss the stupid court stuff and be back for some proper corrie storylines.

What a very very stupid episode. Don't know where to start.

Sleepyfergus · 17/04/2013 20:54

Arghhhh, Faye is such a brat. If I were Anna, I'd march her over to her dads and leave her there.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 17/04/2013 20:57

Pish storyline a at the moment. Bored of Eileen being unlucky in love, bored of Anna and Faye , bored cubed.

LineRunner · 17/04/2013 21:06

And oh God, the holiday tickets plot. Please no. Not a 'Corrie After Hours' with Eileen and Julie unconvincingly getting off with a couple of Egyptian lifeguards in the Red Sea.

sunlightonthegrass · 17/04/2013 21:10

I feel a bit sorry for Faye as I can't imagine it's much fun, all in all. She thought she'd just have nice Anna as a mum but instead she's got horrible blustering shouty Owen and all the complications with Gary, Izzy, Katy and Ches. Until this storyline she just seemed to get ignored half the time!

Bakingnovice · 17/04/2013 22:13

Who in their right minds would adopt Faye! And why does Anna walk everywhere holding her hand as if she's a toddler.

OP posts:
WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 17/04/2013 22:50

She thought she was going to get Anna and Eddie - did he disappear before the adoption was finalised? He never really split with Anna, just went abroad for work.

whatkungfuthat · 18/04/2013 07:31

She loved Eddie didn't she? Someone had to though, he was challenging This whole week looks like a Corrie write-off, although I wonder where this Mary business is going?

SweetestThing · 18/04/2013 07:50

I think they are flagging up Mary to be Asda and Aldi's nanny.....

Sleepyfergus · 18/04/2013 08:10

God yes, the holiday plot. Is this a way to write out Julie temporarily so she can go off and have her imminent baby in RL? Will she stay in Egypt to 'find herself'? Will she perhaps stumble across dirt cheap but beautiful silks and become Underworlds rep in Egypt? How will her hair cope in the heat??

I totally didn't see the Mary as Mary Poppins plot line set up. I thought our Sawphie and boooorrrrrriiiinnnnnggggg Gemma were going to do it!

MortifiedAdams · 18/04/2013 08:22

Why, when then made JUlies character pg in the show then turned out she wasnt, didnt they just run with the pg - making it easy to incorporating her bump, instead of dressing her in capes all the time.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 18/04/2013 09:26

Because Julie was pregnant in the show a very long time before she got pregnant in real life.

theliverpoolone · 18/04/2013 10:09

and it would have been harder to then write Julie out for her rl maternity leave if they'd incorporated her pregnancy into the show - we'd have expected to see Julie with new baby.

I'm now dreading predicting a storyline with Julie staying in Egypt (meets a new man??!), Brian hotfooting it over there to get her back, then after her maternity leave Julie returning without him (Brian's another one being written out). Smile

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 18/04/2013 11:37

I think you're right Liverpool

BastardDog · 18/04/2013 11:46

Faye has wound me up from the start. Can't see what Anna sees in her. I'd of let her stay at her dads and kindly packed her stuff and carried it over the road for her.

(Feel better for getting that off my chest).

Ellenora5 · 18/04/2013 12:18

As much as Faye gives me a pain in the backside I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for her, she is completely confused by the whole situation. I also think they should change the actor who plays her, she really really doesn't pass for an eleven year old. I don't want Julie to leave I like her and I think Brian is funny. Get rid of Eileen, her faces are so depressing, and it's a stupid storyline. Where is Audrey these days?

theliverpoolone · 18/04/2013 12:41

Just googled the actress who plays Faye, and she was just 12 in March. So only one school year up from her character. I agree she looks older.

alemci · 18/04/2013 13:01

I couldn't blame Anna if she had given Fay a slap. Horrible child.

Bakingnovice · 18/04/2013 14:38

I've discovered why I don't like Faye. You're all right, she just looks too old to be playing a ten year old who like tantrums and needs hand holding. Quite like Julie but don't know why. Think it's all the brightness she wears.

OP posts:
LeeCoakley · 18/04/2013 16:34

Just read that the Steve McDonald actor has had his wrists slapped for tweeting possible spoilers. Grin Shame it wasn't something amazing, it would give us all a reason for watching.

whatkungfuthat · 18/04/2013 16:37

Why did I google him? I've just seen a pic on his twitter from the set that has someone on it that I was expecting to see

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 18/04/2013 17:25

I didn't think adopted children were allowed contact with their birth family until after they were 18. Happy to stand corrected. Has the law changed?

I'm guessing the situation in Corrie is the reason why, It's stopping Faye from putting down roots with Anna.

Viviennemary · 18/04/2013 17:37

Faye has taken over from Tracey Barlow as the most unbelievable, boring, unlikely and silly character ever. She is just a pain. No sympathy at all.

ClartyCarol · 18/04/2013 18:22

Ooh, whatkungfuthat, can you give any hints? I'm not on Twitter.

I have a bad feeling about Tim, I think he's got a slightly evil look about him... although I feel a bit mean saying that as Joe Duttine may just have an unfortunate eyebrow shape which makes him look a bit unhinged. I seem to remember him being a bit of a heartthrob in his younger days.

whatkungfuthat · 18/04/2013 18:56

Carol here is the linky hopefully it should work
