Have started a new thread as the old one won't accept my message. So I'll repost it here:

Fuzz has form for being beyond thick. Remember the whole stape thing? Her character is just incredibly stupid. You'd think she would learn her lesson. Running away 'on a fishing boat' with £200 is like a story from a 16th century novel.

Re the abduction I think they were wrong. Lots of mums keeps kids from fathers for all manner of selfish reasons and abduction is not the answer. However I do think ty was desperate. But why won't he just let the court decide ffs. He's got loads of evidence. I'm getting to the point in this story where I'm actually ready to punch him myself! In fact have felt a tiny bit sorry for k when they stole ruby. Surely the writers can't have intended for this to happen? God knows. Im away next week so hopefully I'll miss the stupid court stuff and be back for some proper corrie storylines.

Emily should definitely have been there, she was always babysitting A & A.

PipkinsPal · 15/04/2013 16:21

Baking - forgot that one. What I meant was hope they don't drag it out until Christmas. I'm fed up with Fizz and Tyrone talking in soppy, wet voices especially to each other. I feel like shaking the pair of them.

thenightsky · 15/04/2013 17:29

I wouldn't be surprised if the fireman doesn't resign from his job (like they all seem to do) and get a job in either the taxi place, the knicker factory or the pub (like the all seem to do).

LineRunner · 15/04/2013 17:32

He would go straight into management at the knicker factory. A job that never needed doing before would suddenly be filled by the fireman. Cardboard Box Safety Audit.

SweetestThing · 15/04/2013 17:33

I'm sure that a while ago, there was a photo of Paul the fireman leaving on a train....I think he was leaving Weatherfield.

Gingerdodger · 15/04/2013 18:12

I have to confess to stealing St Ella from one of the Corrie blogs, the same one which has a contributor called Flaming Nora which is another name I wish I had thought of.

MrsSalvoMontalbano · 15/04/2013 18:59

lineRunner yes, i wondered why they didn't look at the CCTV - surely ICU would have CCTV?

ajandjjmum · 15/04/2013 19:44

I'd forgotten about 'who's the father' - it's all the excitement. Off to watch now - left long enough to fast forward through the break!

FriskyMare · 15/04/2013 20:04

Why does Paul need to find somewhere to live? What happened to the house he lived in with Lesley?

Why is Paul leaving Eileen? Have I missed something? Last time I looked they were all happy and engaged. Confused

Monty27 · 15/04/2013 22:01

Might be good if the fireman gets a job in the factory, in case it gets burned down again?

Anyway I think the firemen/factory/taxi ranks comments are derogatory towards a brave force tbh. Yes they do need to retire and change jobs while they are still able to work, just not firefighting. Iywim.

alemci · 15/04/2013 22:37

Please could the fireman buy a new jacket. That Blouson style in puce is a crime against fashion:)

Crutchlow35 · 16/04/2013 13:35

Paul is leaving Eileen because Eileen can't stand him being a fireman and wants him to leave (following the death in the rovers fire). he doesn't want to leave so they are splitting. he is leaving anyway as his contract was not renewed but it is a really stupid storyline.

candodad · 16/04/2013 15:50

Monty - I think you have the wrong end of the stick, the way I read the post was that everyone comes into coronation street from the "outside world" and then magically needs/wants/gets handed a job on the street.
Shop, Shop, Cafe, Pub, Bistro, Garage, Hair salon, taxi rank.

If only every street were so well serviced, and a bus stop right at the end of the road too.

morethanpotatoprints · 16/04/2013 16:00

I stopped watching for ages but after starting again got to like Kirks girlfriends character. Has she left yet, it will be a shame when she does if she hasn't already. Does anyone know how she did/will be written out?
She is the wife of a colleague of my dh, didn't realise for ages. Not braggin though as I have never met her. Grin

ClartyCarol · 16/04/2013 16:08

I didn't know Beth is leaving, I think she's great! I loved her constant stream of smut at the strip night.

LineRunner · 16/04/2013 18:04

Oh, that there's the fireman gone ...

But why does he keep turning up like a bad smell to tell Eileen that he's going? It's not like it's good subtle writing where he really wants to stay, and we all care. It's just annoying.

whatkungfuthat · 16/04/2013 21:12

Yes it's very PA Grin

Bakingnovice · 17/04/2013 10:13

Quite like Beth but she's just too similar to cilla.

ClartyCarol · 17/04/2013 12:44

I think Eileen breaking up with him is a pile of shite. So you love someone so much, they're your soulmate and all that palaver, yet you'd rather spend the rest of your life brokenhearted without them on the grounds that they might die???

Sean Hughes was one of her ill fated conquests as well.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 17/04/2013 14:39

Agree Clarty. It's like saying "I worry about you so much that I never want to see you again"

LineRunner · 17/04/2013 17:20

I think he'll go off to North Yorkshire and die in a fire and Eileen will always be haunted by the knowledge that she sent him into the jaws of death anyway.

Meanwhile the actor will turn up in an episode of Misommer Murders. Well, maybe not. He can't actually act, can he? That 'waking up on the sofa' scene was about as convincing as my kids' last nativity play.

candodad · 17/04/2013 19:48

Right so little cow says Anna hits her, didn't she try this one a few weeks back?

sunlightonthegrass · 17/04/2013 19:50

Is everyone tuned in now? Grin

Katy really annoys me. It's a bit of an old-lady rant but I do feel it's a little irresponsible to present such an impossibly beautiful, fashionably dressed teenage mum with a cute baby who she never struggles with. I can imagine watching that at 15/16 or whatever and thinking it looks quite a nice life. I don't mean hundreds of girls will be getting pregnant because of Katy but she isn't much of a deterrent!

Brian is an AWFUL actor!
