Have started a new thread as the old one won't accept my message. So I'll repost it here:

Fuzz has form for being beyond thick. Remember the whole stape thing? Her character is just incredibly stupid. You'd think she would learn her lesson. Running away 'on a fishing boat' with £200 is like a story from a 16th century novel.

Re the abduction I think they were wrong. Lots of mums keeps kids from fathers for all manner of selfish reasons and abduction is not the answer. However I do think ty was desperate. But why won't he just let the court decide ffs. He's got loads of evidence. I'm getting to the point in this story where I'm actually ready to punch him myself! In fact have felt a tiny bit sorry for k when they stole ruby. Surely the writers can't have intended for this to happen? God knows. Im away next week so hopefully I'll miss the stupid court stuff and be back for some proper corrie storylines.

I really don't see a Ken dementia story. I reckon the actor would have said no way to that. I don't imagine he sees himself as ready to be put out to pasture just yet. He's such a stalwart of the show that I'm certain his opinion would hold a lot of swap.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 14/04/2013 07:51

I don't see a Ken dementia story either, think word would have leaked out if there was going to be. Bill Roache made some distasteful comments about abuse victims which he then apologised for but I haven't heard anything about him being suspended.

I can't see a happy ending for Eileen and Paul now, there's no chemistry between them, I hope the scriptwriters aren't going to try and turn them into Ken and Deirdre who regularly overcome massive relationship challenges and keep on going.

I am so cross with Stella for accepting Karl back.

I did like the little aside from Roy's mum to Anna about children turning out odd if their parents didn't maintain a civilised relationship, with a long look at Roy, I agree that it is those little asides that lift Corrie.

comfysofas · 14/04/2013 08:47

Ken is in Australia for 12 weeks [ i think] doing a stage show of coronation street.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 14/04/2013 10:11

I thought Corrie the Musical went bust?

Lighthousekeeping · 14/04/2013 11:33

How is Karl going to get found out at this stage?

Sallystyle · 14/04/2013 12:52

Asda and Aldi comes from Digital Spy! well, they think so anyway.

Hate Tiny Fireman and they have made Eileen really horrid too.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 14/04/2013 18:33

Karl will probably get found out at his and Stella's wedding. After all, there's no such thing as a soap wedding that goes smoothly. (I'm guessing by the way).

The writers will drag it out for so long that we're just about to totally give up caring when BINGO! there's the big reveal.

LineRunner · 14/04/2013 18:36

I think he will have to confess to Dev.

whatkungfuthat · 14/04/2013 19:45

However it happens it will be when we are all past caring

whatkungfuthat · 14/04/2013 19:55

Do you think we could start a campaign for Karl to add Tracey-luv to the death toll before he is discovered?

Gingerdodger · 15/04/2013 08:22

I am a bit behind but can't understand why Sunitta would have so few people there. Do they all believe she set the fire? Following having all believed Tyrone was a wife water and being wrong?

Why didn't Dev tell everyone white was the traditional colour?

Why on earth would St Ella be there???? That woman is beyond nice, totally forgiving. Not believable at all.

I did actually feel sorry for Dev though.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 15/04/2013 08:35

I think it was the short notice and the fact that maybe Dev handpicked who went, being aware of what people thought. Maybe he only wanted well wishers and not angry people.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 15/04/2013 09:12

Half the street weren't talking to her before the fire because of her affair with Carl

whatkungfuthat · 15/04/2013 11:11

It wasn't short notice for a Hindu funeral, they normally take place very quickly, sometimes within a day. The police said they were treating the death as suicide and this is why a lot of family stayed away.

Bakingnovice · 15/04/2013 14:14

What I hate is that corrie always go this. Drag things on. And why are all the killers bumbling idiots who almost kill accidentally? John stape was like that. His killings were usually because someone was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Like sunita.

Love the name st Ella. I agree, her character is totally non believable now.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 15/04/2013 14:45

kungfu- yes that's what I meant. Hindus and Muslims get buried within 24 hrs where possible.

But would Dev have rung up her family and told them that police were regarding it as suicide? Or am I giving this more thought than I oughta?

LineRunner · 15/04/2013 14:58

On what planet would the death of a patient in ICU who apparently dislodged their own breathing tube be so cavalierly regarded as 'suicide'?

On what additional planet, given that it would be normal to need to rule out (a) negligence or (b) an accident or (c) foul play, would the Police just not fucking bother to look at the CCTV cameras from the ICU unit?

It's all so .... clumsy.

whatkungfuthat · 15/04/2013 15:01

I think I am the one over thinking Grin
St Ella is brilliant! I expect tonight will be all fireman/Katie & Chesney/Faye & Tim zzzzz

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 15/04/2013 15:01

I thought the dishnonoured her family bit might have been referring to leaving Dev and moving in with another man?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 15/04/2013 15:02

But then she wasn't actually married to him any more was she, they divorced after the first split and she was engaged to someone else before she got back with Dev, so technically she was living in sin with him anyway

PipkinsPal · 15/04/2013 15:04

I hope Karl getting found out is not the Christmas shocker.

LineRunner · 15/04/2013 15:06

I've got to go out tonight in RL. I'll have to catch up when I get home pissed, hopefully from my lovely concert.

But I reckon Fireman SpamFace will be ready to do a bit of anguished acting of the 'I can't live like this any more,' after about two more minutes of Eileen's worrying.

Sleepyfergus · 15/04/2013 15:15

Why was Tina at the funeral? Was she close to Dev/Sunita? Was it because she worked in the pub with Sunita at one stage? I couldn't fathom out why she was invited yet the core crew of Rita/Emily/Norris etc weren't.

At least we know why Kev wasn't there!!!

ajandjjmum · 15/04/2013 16:00

I assumed it was because they'd worked together.

Bakingnovice · 15/04/2013 16:11

Pipkins - no the Xmas shocker is the storyline we all just can't wait for (not not not): David finding out that nick fathered his baby. Urghhh.
