TV show decisions that are just WRONG - I'll start with the West Wing.

There must be loads of these. I'm sure ER is not in fact a Bible to medical correctness (say it isn't so!).

The one that bugs me is the bit the West Wing where the President breaks out into Latin. It makes me cringe. It's bad, bad Latin (IMHO).

And also - of course - the fact Toby never gets a chance to clear his name. I love Richard Schiff for explaining he played it assuming Toby was covering for someone, which is great explanation of a frustrating storyline. But I never believed Bartlett (who seems to me so good at accepting people's different points of view) would have judged him so quickly.

Is there anything that bugs you massively? Either for being factually wrong or just not fitting your sense of the characters.

And why the hell is Keira Knightley's boyfriend in it?

I don't like him

Fiderer · 04/11/2012 00:05

Well, last I looked it was a double post Shock

Can only mean one thing. The CIA are onto me - and LRD won't save me

RedZombie · 04/11/2012 00:06

She's fab, but Im distracted by how lovely and swishy her hair is all the time.

GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt · 04/11/2012 00:06

They are watching you fid.

Fiderer · 04/11/2012 00:08

I like Virgil and his sidekick Max "I believed you. But no one ever asks me."

Wonder if they'd hire me?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 04/11/2012 00:09

I'll save you - but only out of sympathy for the double posts.

I can hide you in my loft, does that sound suitable conspiracy theorist?

Mind you, I'd love to think that is what Fiderer is hiding from all along. That's why she gets such an extensive interview from the President - she's a secret mole for MN in the heart of the White House.

LRD - Wink

UltraBOF · 04/11/2012 00:12

I love Virgil. I think he and Carrie should have had a spin-off show where they solve mysteries from his van, Scooby Doo style.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 04/11/2012 00:13

I love Virgil too, but I keep getting confused by the fact it's a show about US government-y stuff and he's a bearded bloke ... I want him to be played by Toby Ziegler.

Is that bad? Blush

GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt · 04/11/2012 00:13

YES.

With lots of doobies. They can be like the Cheech and Chong of the CIA.

Fiderer · 04/11/2012 00:15

Nothing about Toby could be bad.

A West Wing/Homeland combo thingy would be wonderful,

LRDtheFeministDragon · 04/11/2012 00:19

Oh, it would be so good.

My so called life only had one season because Claire Danes and her parents approached the writers and producers towards the end of season one and told them she no longer wanted to be involved I think. Apparently she was struggling with the workload and school work. One of the writers said after she heard about that, she no longer wanted to write it as they couldn't carry on without Claire Danes really!

Another reason was because the network had no idea what to do with the show or how to promote it either. It was before they had channels specifically aimed at teenagers in America so it struggled basically. I kind of like the fact it only had one season, it ended while it was still good and didn't have chance to go rubbish! At the time I loved Claire Danes and her red hair!

Pleasenomorepeppa · 04/11/2012 07:55

Medium. The last episode really left me feeling flat!
I've got My So Called Life box set unopened on my shelf. Maybe the time has come to relive it!!
Oooh, also Tru Calling with Faith from Buffy ended really abruptly in the middle of season 2. Very irritating.

CagneyNLacey - Dan dies? Shock Nooooo. I must've repressed that memory. I loved Roseanne. I forgave the old Becky switcharoo but Dan dying? I am going to have to re-repress that memory.

GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt · 04/11/2012 11:53

NOOOO I am so sorry! Oh shit motherfuck I feel terrible now.

Oh buggery bollocks. I am sorry pag.

Pagwatch · 04/11/2012 11:56

No no. My fault. I have found The Killing years after everyone else.

And it is totally a spoilers thread.

It is fantastic though. I have watched 10 episodes in about a week. The children have had to fend for themselves. Ultimately it will toughen them up

Trills · 04/11/2012 11:59

I have just bought the boxset - I don't know any character names yet so will try not to remember who you said just died.

Asking for no spoilers on something that is currently playing is fair enough, but if you are watching something a few years old you just have to suck it up.

I have asked for my post to be deleted though.

Oh I could kick myself.

I watched the Killing in about 4 days of obsessiveness, I absolutely loved it.

Troels!
Theiss!
Nanna Birk Larssen!
Tak!

heronsfly · 04/11/2012 12:02

The Vicar of Dibley,
It has always bugged me that they married Geraldine off to that young accountant, she should have married David Horton Grin
