TV show decisions that are just WRONG - I'll start with the West Wing.

There must be loads of these. I'm sure ER is not in fact a Bible to medical correctness (say it isn't so!).

The one that bugs me is the bit the West Wing where the President breaks out into Latin. It makes me cringe. It's bad, bad Latin (IMHO).

And also - of course - the fact Toby never gets a chance to clear his name. I love Richard Schiff for explaining he played it assuming Toby was covering for someone, which is great explanation of a frustrating storyline. But I never believed Bartlett (who seems to me so good at accepting people's different points of view) would have judged him so quickly.

Is there anything that bugs you massively? Either for being factually wrong or just not fitting your sense of the characters.

Have you seen the PRICE of those Sarah Lund jumpers?

I do love her.

OliviaMumsnet · 04/11/2012 12:03

DISCLAIMER I HAVE NOT READ THIS THREAD
I will come back to discuss my favourite Democrat later Grin

That is a brilliant pic trills.

Thanks for deleting that post Olivia.

GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt · 04/11/2012 12:05

lol at my typing oh shit motherfuck. I have no idea where that came from. Grin

Yama · 04/11/2012 12:13

Heronsfly - I totally agree with you about The Vicar of Dibley.

Trills · 04/11/2012 12:15

I don't see why it had to end with her marrying anyone at all.

SouthernComforts · 04/11/2012 12:17

I've seen this week's Homeland too

Yy to Grey's getting more ridiculous by the season.

Anybody watch Scandal?

flyoverthegoldenhill · 04/11/2012 12:21

What about The Closer what a feeble ending - though I love what she did in the lift, (trying not to spoil it for those who've not caught it yet)

OliviaMumsnet · 04/11/2012 12:42

I lost track of Grey's I did love meredith and her angst but I am WAY behind
Keep seeing trailers for Season 12 or some such and she appears to still be making the puppy dog eyes at McDreamy. Seriously??

LRDtheFeministDragon · 04/11/2012 12:58

Yep, seriously.

But Olivia, you should get back into Greys, it has pretty men in it now. Smile

I've got to admit I kind of love the ridiculousness of Grey's - it always was ridiculous so it doesn't offend me the way something more carefully plotted might if it went pear-shaped.

I'm quite intrigued what GetOrf said now ...

Trills · 04/11/2012 13:13

GetOrf just did a big spoiler for something that someone had not yet seen, that's all.

Trills · 04/11/2012 13:13

I'm glad it's gone because I won't be tempted to look at it.

SouthernComforts · 04/11/2012 13:35

Olivia! Meredith is now Mrs. Mcdreamy and they have an adopted child together.

They are still on/off though.

I loved sexy Sloan.

Pagwatch · 04/11/2012 13:46

Arf at 'oh shit motherfucker'

You are just quoting straight from The Wire now Getorf Grin

mosschops30 · 04/11/2012 13:48

Agree about Lost but I still loved it.

ER was realistic from a medical point of view, compared to Holby and Casualty and the like where patients in theatre or ITU are not intubated, and on the rare occasion they are the tube is just sitting there Hmm
I liked the way characters dropped things, had to wait for xray/theatre slots etc.

Six Feet Under finale was the best Ive ever seen

Crap decisions:
All the friends ones
Carrie and Big
Carter and Thandie Newton - he shouldve ended up with Abbey
Mark Greene dyinhg - just NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 04/11/2012 13:55

Noooooo, Abbie and Luka were meant for each other. Greene dying was wrong. The whole ER went badly off the boil for a few seasons after Greene died.

FairPhyllis · 04/11/2012 14:15

Also, the decision to cancel Firefly - although I have heard some things about it the way it was supposed to develop that have made me go Hmm - but I do heart it a great very much, so I would give it the benefit of the doubt. I wanted to see more episodes.

OliviaMumsnet · 04/11/2012 14:16

@SouthernComforts

Olivia! Meredith is now Mrs. Mcdreamy and they have an adopted child together.

They are still on/off though.

How can they be on/off if he married her?! Oh the angst! Will have to watch now, won't I?!
Trills · 04/11/2012 14:17

Oh dear, yes, BSG got all weird and religious.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 04/11/2012 14:21

BSG making Baltar into God really, really annoyed me. He was the weakest character by some way and I always found his witterings immensely annoying and tedious.

I am still quite sad how they ended things with Kara, but I accept probably there's no ending that would have been 'right' in terms of the plot and wouldn't have made me sad! Grin

What's your ending though, fair?

In terms of stupid ER decisions - why did they have to kill Pratt? I was just starting to quite like him!

The fact that 'Lie to Me' wasn't continued. I loved Lie to Me. Why end it so soon????

RedZombie · 04/11/2012 14:23

Vicar of Dibley was me e going to marry David Horton once Richard Armitage showed up. There's no competition there.

RedZombie · 04/11/2012 14:25

*was never going to marry.
