TV show decisions that are just WRONG - I'll start with the West Wing.

There must be loads of these. I'm sure ER is not in fact a Bible to medical correctness (say it isn't so!).

The one that bugs me is the bit the West Wing where the President breaks out into Latin. It makes me cringe. It's bad, bad Latin (IMHO).

And also - of course - the fact Toby never gets a chance to clear his name. I love Richard Schiff for explaining he played it assuming Toby was covering for someone, which is great explanation of a frustrating storyline. But I never believed Bartlett (who seems to me so good at accepting people's different points of view) would have judged him so quickly.

Is there anything that bugs you massively? Either for being factually wrong or just not fitting your sense of the characters.

Lost - definitely one season too long.
SATC - if Big had jilted my best mate, and treated her like shit for years, i wouldn't be crying tears of joy at the registry office wedding five minutes later. I'm in denial that the second film exists.
Joey and Rachel - No. Seemed like a plot device to pad out the series so they could keep Ross and Rachel for the end

And in eastenders - how can everyone leave Walford with a small hold all containing all their worldly goods. I take more stuff to the gym. I'd need a fleet of lorries to empty my house.

Worse than Brody going after the tailor ("You're the only one he knows" - well maybe but he still didn't trust you) was Brody taking his own car!
Am also invested though.

Yeah, I found that episode with Brodie and the flat tyre so weak, too.

Like anyone thinks 'fuck, I've a flat tyre, I know, I'll drive some logs under it and get someone who possibly wants to escape and kill me to drive over it'.

FWIW, it's a widespread misconception you can't drive on a flat tyre. You really can. Trust me, I know: my mum did it for nearly two miles with us and a full load of holiday luggage in the boot. Dad nearly killed her.

I too have driven miles and miles on a flat tyre, wondering what the annoying noise was (and turning the stereo up to drown it out), bewildered at all the people waving at me and mouthing fuck off to them all.

It was fine. I didn't have to drive over any logs or shit.

See if he'd blown up the bunker at the end of the first series and then called it quits it would have been the most amazing series ever.
Now we're going to have 'will he, won't he' for 5 years till they finish it off.

Chachi most definitely wouldn't have loved Joanie.

He looks like a kindly gnome, the kind that goes on holidays and sends postcards home to its owners. Gnome, mole? Hmmm.

There should have been just an ambiguous ending to the first series and that was that. But I suppose it was so successful they couldn't end it.

What made you realize, GetOrf? My dad once drove over the bonnet of someone's poncey boy racer car with his Galaxy, and thought the resulting crunching noise was just a flat tyre.

My family don't come well out of this, no wonder get captivated by TV heros who can actually keep a car all in one piece for a whole season.

I find Clare Danes's hair to be implausibly yellow this season, btw, but I suspect it's just a really shite filter they have going on.

Mandy Patinkin has a beautiful singing voice too. I love man who can sing!

Some bloke shouting at the traffic lights on a roundabout 'you've got a fucking flat tyre'. If he hadn't have done that I am convinced I would have just got onto the M5 with the radio at 110 decibels.

I read an interview with Mandy and was amazed that he is this well thought of singer who sells out venues all the time.

I also like the fact that he left Criminal Minds because he hated the storylines which ended up with a naked woman on a mortuary slab after being murdered hideously.

I love Claire Danes' expressions. The caption to this one is "What about this face doesn't look sane?"

I knew we always needed men for the more detailed points of car maintenance.

She is a truly brilliant actress. Such an expressive face. I was utterly chilled to the bone where she was in her flat and Estes came in and started taking down all her scribblings. She looked genuinely otherworldly. I always end up feeling so sorry for her, so rare for acting to resonate so much imo.

If it's any consolation, I ruined series 1 by watching it over a weekend and now am ruining series 2, or rather any MN enjoyment, by not being able to resist watching the US episode.
