Welcome one and all to the fan club of the afternoon soap 'Doctors'.

For any newcomers , explanations as follows:

TBFE: The Bloke From Emmerdale (Ian Kelsey who plays Howard)

SDTP: Saddo Doctors Thread Partakers (which we all think know we are but we love it anyway).

Waterfall cardi: Apparently these are a MN no-no but it's a wardrobe essential to a SDTP.

Gobbyplods: Karen and Rob Hollins, aka 'the only plod in the village'

Beanbags: are now being Freecycled and will be passed on to other lentil weavers.

Blimey Jimmy's going to piss on it himself in a minute.

petitfiloser · 26/09/2012 14:08

oh my god tbfe and elaine are nearly on that beanbag!!!!!

RaahhisOrangeandGold · 26/09/2012 15:20

Pah! missed today as went shopping. Will look forward to today's going off the thread!

And yes, le Creuset is bloody heavy- i used to work at Jl in customer services, and one of my jobs was to send stuff out to lazy gits in Alderley Edge people who were unable to get to the shop. We never charged postage over £30. Every le Creuset pot we sent out probably cost more in postage than it was worthHmmGrinor even more cost effectively, we would 'put it on a van'. Jl customers do so love to see the green van on their drivewayGrin

(I remember one deranged woman asking us to put a FOOTBALL on a van, because her grandson loved to see the delivery drivers. Nutter. We didn't, and she complainedHmm).

Anyway- will catch up asap, if only to see the nearly beanbag actionShock

RaahhisOrangeandGold · 26/09/2012 15:26

Haha at Jimmi tracking Cherry's cycle- that was how i ended up with dd2 (there's an iphone app for EVERYTHINGGrin).

RaahhisOrangeandGold · 26/09/2012 15:29

bloody hell- Elaine is wearing a waterfall necklace to go with her cardi!

resists temptation to start singing 'we're having a gang bang' at sight of R,S and b2 actress

fails

RaahhisOrangeandGold · 26/09/2012 15:34

Princess Bubblegum is not very sparkly this weekGrin

and surely, if you ended up with a head injury due to an epileptic fit- you would go to a and e, not the gp?

ooh- mrs t and Babs clearly hate each otherGrin

RaahhisOrangeandGold · 26/09/2012 15:44

Mrs T won't be taking Elaine back to church. She said sexual and babs said all the things she should have said.

Today's wtf storyline is odd.

RaahhisOrangeandGold · 26/09/2012 15:49

they arrested a coffin???

and where the all those police come from? Gobbyplod is The Only Plod in The VillageShock

and didn't I predict Jimmi would go ocd over ovulation charts?Grin

MsNobodyAgain · 26/09/2012 16:03

Why do I miss all the good ones? Sigh Sad

Raahh great story about JL and Alderley Edge. I can imagine that happening as I know the area.

Just watching now:

  • Elaines necklace, I.have.no.words Shock
  • Cherrys tummy is looking a little rounded to me Hmm. Is she up-duffed irl?
OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 26/09/2012 18:17

That's not a waterfall cardi, it's a waterfall jacket. It's got shoulder pads and a collar and everything.

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 26/09/2012 18:35

I must have missed something because I never saw Elaine and TBFE near a beanbag Confused

OP posts:
RaahhisOrangeandGold · 26/09/2012 19:26

I think there was a hint of flirty-ness between Elaine and TBFE, I'm sure when she leaves he will rue missed opportunitiesGrin

I've been thinking Cherry looks a bit gaunt - maybe she is up-duffed and has had bad morning sickness.Hmm

Wonder how Blondie is getting on, baby wise?

goldmywrath · 26/09/2012 19:26

Welcome to Mates MsNo is the one to go to for a comprehensive explanation of Doctors' goings on. But we all wonder about the Gobby plods house-they must be loaded!!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 26/09/2012 19:36

After today's episode I think I'm going to rename Elaine Droopy Drawers. I swear to god even her trousers looked depressed

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 26/09/2012 19:44

Raah - I was induced and my waters properly went by themselves (eventually). It was like a ballon popping then gallons of water, my bowels went at the same time, then mucus from the plug...I didn't look and dh insisted on cleaning me up. I felt embarrassed at the time but now I'm half proud of him and half 'damn right he should clean it up, I was the one in labour!'

RaahhisOrangeandGold · 26/09/2012 19:57

eek, Makes- I know when mine were popped with number 2, I was mortified as I flooded the room. I had polyhydramnios- it was messyGrin. I was lying down, and there was really only a dribble with dsGrin

on second thoughts, maybe I'm glad that didn't happen in the middle of m & sGrin

I still live in hope that 'Gobbys lose house' will be the big Christmas storyline- when long lost relative appears and boots them out. They will end up with 'no room at the inn' and Cherry will give birth in the surgery reception.
ignores fact that would be a very short pregnancy

MsNobodyAgain · 26/09/2012 20:00

gold I do think Doctors is actually improving my powers of recall after years of being a forgetful SAHM. Grin

Raahh and makes my waters never broke with my first. But they went with the 2nd and 3rd. A great big whoosh! All over my bedroom carpet and half on the mattress. Ex-h made me sit on a towel in the car on the way to hospital. I was drenched from the waist down, and the midwife still asked me if I was sure I hadn't pissed myself. lol.

I had to get a new mattress after that. I just couldn't settle on the old one.

goldmywrath · 26/09/2012 20:18

MsNo wins the award for most convincing reason for watching Doctors!

BiscuitNibbler · 26/09/2012 20:20

Does that make you a patient at the Mill, MsN?

I had my waters broken by a midwife with a crochet-hook-type-contraption. I didn't see how much came out as I was too busy sucking on the gas and air.

I better go and watch today's episode I suppose, if only to see Elaine's latest weapon necklace.

OodHousekeeping · 26/09/2012 20:25

Only watched Mondays so far in five minute bursts via iplayer cos my Internet is playing up

Re babies I was pg two years ago too! You lot must have been septembers though cos you weren't on Oct 2010 were you?

MsNobodyAgain · 26/09/2012 20:30

Ood my babies are 9, 7 and 7. So quite a few years ago for me.

Although I think Sparkling is also in the old gimmers club where DCs are concerned. Grin

Time to wander off to bed after insulting another MN member. Sorry Sparkling!

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 26/09/2012 20:34

No, that's totally true MsN. I have a 13 year old and a 10 year old. Grin

BiscuitNibbler · 26/09/2012 20:35

Are those razor blades on Elaine's necklace??

My DD is 3, so a few years ago now. I'm in the old gimmers' club, but DD isn't. I expect she will grow up telling people I'm her granny.

OodHousekeeping · 26/09/2012 20:36

I've an almost 13 year old and a 11 year old as well as the almost 2 year old. plus dc4 bump
