Doctors Addicts Anonymous Continued - TBFE sees a SDTP wearing a waterfall cardigan and thinks 'WTF?'

Welcome one and all to the fan club of the afternoon soap 'Doctors'.

For any newcomers , explanations as follows:

TBFE: The Bloke From Emmerdale (Ian Kelsey who plays Howard)

SDTP: Saddo Doctors Thread Partakers (which we all think know we are but we love it anyway).

Waterfall cardi: Apparently these are a MN no-no but it's a wardrobe essential to a SDTP.

Gobbyplods: Karen and Rob Hollins, aka 'the only plod in the village'

Beanbags: are now being Freecycled and will be passed on to other lentil weavers.

Well, that's it. Elaine's losing it and there is an actress that used to be in Corrie in it tomorrow. I finally recognised someone! or was it Emmerdale ?

Grin

She was definitely in 'Rita, Sue and Bob Too' Blush

Yer MsNo in Corrie (behind the bar-was it Tina or something?)Eww to Rita Sue & the twice used condom.
Was thinking what the SDTP's would say about that afternoon delight Gobby scene ! I think Raahh summed it up nicely.
Wishing baby Blondie a speedy arrival!

I noticed the casserole dish- not that many people drop off a stew in their best le creuset, it's usually the crappy stained pyrexGrin

That casserole dish - wasn't it Juuuliaaa's? I remember her putting the apple in it to test herself when she had lyme disease.

Agree with you, MsN about Kevin and TBFE today. Kevin is starting to mature nicely.

Mrs T should do more home visits. She'd sort out waiting lists in a few weeks.

I am new to Doctors...but utterly addicted over the last month or two.

Can someone just explain though - wtf happened with Elaine (is that her name the bland lonely doctor who Mrs T serenaded with harsh words and a casserole) and the bloke what killed himself? And how was the other dishy (ish) doctor involved?

And why is this not on prime time - it is far far better than the other soaps....

Hi Mates. I watch every time but I still can't answer your questions. Grin

Hi Mates. I'll have a go at a summary for you Smile

  • The bloke that killed himself was called Harrison. He was a forensic officer
  • Elaine and Harrison were dating/shagging
  • The dishy(ish) doctor is Kevin hands off, he's mine Grin
  • There was a temporary receptionist called Lauren who was shagging both Harrison and Kevin
  • Harrison killed Lauren. People thought Kevin had done it
  • Eventually Harrison was exposed as the killer and got put away awaiting trial
  • He killed himself last week so Kevins chuffed as he won't have to give evidence

I hope that helps.

Biscuit you are so right about the casserole dish. I knew it looked familiar. It must be a fake though because le creuset is dead heavy and you'd need the strength of a german shot-putter to haul that round to someones house.

I thought exactly the same, MsN, Elaine was holding it like it was weightless, when even empty they weigh a tonne, let alone full of stew.

Hi Mates, welcome to the weird and wonderful world of Doctors! It can't be on at prime time, as it is too WTF?? You may have already caught rather a lot of episodes where you are scratching your head in wonder, but let me assure you, you have seen nothing yet. Some examples of the truly bizarre - an episode where they were all dressed up like characters from a Bond film, a week where everything was based on Shakespeare, musical episodes... I could go on. Mrs Tembe and the jubilee bus is my favourite WTF episode. It was like an episode of Brum. Grin

MsNobody you will be kicked off the thread if you continue to display understanding of what's going on. Grin

Grin Sparkling, It's my evil plan. I'm trying to keep the newbies and swell the numbers of SDTPs. Mwah ha ha ha!

My favourite WTF episode was the 'Carry On' style one. Heston sampling Mrs Ts Red Bush Shock

::disclaimer - we are all quite normal actually, honest!::

Grin MsNobody. Um why have the Gobbys still got that house they inherited? Answer that one.

Damn it... you got me! Grin. Errrrrm.....so they can christen every room (including the conservatory) now the kids have gone?

I think there's a really boring answer. I think the house they filmed in they couldn't use any more so they had to move them. as if we would have noticed. Hmm Grin

But they missed a trick with not having another family thinking they should inherit it. Plus shouldn't they be loaded after inheriting the house and selling the old one?

Report
MsNobodyAgain · 26/09/2012 10:24

Yep. I agree. It's probably the boring answer but they missed an opportunity there.

And at one point the Gobbys were nearly bankrupt and now NOTHING is said about money or selling the old house. Pah! Where's the continuity? Oh, hang on....this is Doctors. There is no continuity. Grin
