Welcome one and all to the fan club of the afternoon soap 'Doctors'.

For any newcomers , explanations as follows:

TBFE: The Bloke From Emmerdale (Ian Kelsey who plays Howard)

SDTP: Saddo Doctors Thread Partakers (which we all think know we are but we love it anyway).

Waterfall cardi: Apparently these are a MN no-no but it's a wardrobe essential to a SDTP.

Gobbyplods: Karen and Rob Hollins, aka 'the only plod in the village'

Beanbags: are now being Freecycled and will be passed on to other lentil weavers.

just catching up with this thread, for work reasons have got way behind so didn't dare look at thread in case of spoilers. But having finally caught up, am definitely thinking "WTF" and wishing I'd just read your posts instead of wasting so much time watching. I really, really need to wean myself off this tosh now...

MsNobodyAgain · 14/10/2012 16:07

No-one leaves the fred. Right?

There is no escape, Lilo.

lilolilmanchester · 14/10/2012 16:10

just to be clear and to avoid any mafia-style exit... "tosh" was referring to the programme, not this thread....

Sigh, guess I am stuck then.....

MsNobodyAgain · 14/10/2012 16:14

Grin we knew you'd stay lilo. Resistance is futile.

I do think this thread is utter tosh though but I like it

MsNobodyAgain · 14/10/2012 16:14

Wasn't Tosh a fat bloke in 'The Bill' years ago?

OP posts:
lilolilmanchester · 14/10/2012 16:22

ha ha loved Tosh(Lyons? Lines?) in the Bill. Have to say, it was way better than Doctors.

Sparklingbrook · 14/10/2012 16:37

I still think that Doctors should have their own Jasmine Allen-esque estate. The houses are way too posh and victorian in general. Gobby thinlips BeefyPlod would have a field day. Grin

And the homes visits could be quite dangerous. Shock they would have to go in twos.

dRaahhcula · 14/10/2012 16:38

I've just been sat here saying 'ello, Tosh, got a toshiba?'. DD2 looked at me like thisHmmGrin

dRaahhcula · 14/10/2012 16:39

now , yabu, Sparkling- there's just not enough staff for sending 2 on a home visit Grin apart from yesterday, as a clumsy plot device Grin

Sparklingbrook · 14/10/2012 16:41

The actor who played Tosh was only 49 when he died. Sad

MsNobodyAgain · 14/10/2012 16:42

lol @ 'ello Tosh, got a Toshiba'. Did you do the robotic moves as well Raahh

Ah yes, 'The Bill' in it's day...now THERE was a soap worth watching before the producers starting titting about with the format.

Sigh.

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 14/10/2012 16:43

Bloomin' heck Sparkling. He looked about 60 but I think he was an alkie. Sad

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 14/10/2012 16:47

He was MsN, he got sacked from the Bill from not being punctual. Sad

TheAngelshavetheOod · 14/10/2012 16:52

I liked the Bill.

Sparklingbrook · 14/10/2012 16:55

Was The Bill as WTF as Doctors though? I never watched it.

lilolilmanchester · 14/10/2012 16:56

nowhere near as "WTF" as Doctors IMHO... infact, rarely WTF at all until the latter years

MsNobodyAgain · 14/10/2012 17:00

No it wasn't Sparkling. I remember talking to a policeman/woman who were on honeymoon the same time as me and the ex 17 years ago , and they said it was very accurate and true to life.

I've still got a picture of them somewhere.

OP posts:
TheAngelshavetheOod · 14/10/2012 17:03

I watched when they had the serial killer cop who killed Cass. I liked her and smithy.

TheAngelshavetheOod · 14/10/2012 17:04

Actually was that the bad cop story or have I mixed them up?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 14/10/2012 18:46

I loved The Bill. I an just about old enough to even remember the original title sequence with the two plods' shoes proceeding (any Pratchett fans here too?) along the pavement.

.Ugh. Baby Cakes had decided to have a character transplant and become a miserable git who won't nap. Considering he doesn't sleep much at night this is not leaving us many options. Am knackered. Especially after a bout if that 24 hour puking bug.

On the plus side it was his 9 month anniversary and he stood up unaided - clever baby.

Icelollycraving · 14/10/2012 20:19

So glad my killing spree is so well received. Just think if they'd worked the timing better Jimmi could have had a great storyline on the Shakespeare theme week 'out damned spot' whilst washing frantically

BiscuitNibbler · 14/10/2012 20:25

That is very good, Icelolly. I am impressed!

Sparklingbrook · 14/10/2012 20:28

'When will we three meet again?' MrsT, Karen and Mandy round the reception's cauldron. Grin

Icelollycraving · 14/10/2012 20:35

We are getting increasingly wtf ourselves! :o
