Personally, I can't wait. At a complete loss since the end of Borgen. Smile

You gotta love Saga tho. She's funny. And that guy she picks up in the club is very nice! I never met anyone like that and I'm lovely!! Granted, I don't quite look like her.......

teejwood · 05/05/2012 23:16

btw lurking good hit re immigrants!

re: charlotte's wig - there is another running theme of people not really being who we/others think they are.

martin? devoted family man - not so much!
charlotte's hubby? ditto
stefan? helper of the weak - and a cold blooded killer
saga? doesn't understand so much of the nuances but can really hone in on what matters - the line near the start of the first ep tonight where she was talking about being at the same place as the killer when they have the same information...
and more!

teejwood · 05/05/2012 23:18

ohhhh - lurking that is the other thing i meant to add!

saga's sexbloke was queuing to get into the club where daniel od'd. we didn't see him again. now was that because we were supposed to think he was at the flat (when it was August) and so it was a shock, or was there another reason for placing him at that club at that time?

teejwood · 05/05/2012 23:23

come to think of it - he is tall and slim, no?

Yama · 05/05/2012 23:32

Dh thinks ... (and that it's obvious) that 'the bridge' is that Saga is a Psychopath/Sociopath like the killer and that is how she will catch him.

Reading back - too may thats.

teejwood · 05/05/2012 23:54

mmm could be yama.

rather than it being a policeman, could it be someone who was rejected by both forces due to his psychological profile? and obvs saga did manage to get through, which may be something he hadn't counted on... (having an opponent so like himself)

smugmumofboys · 06/05/2012 08:01

Do we think we have seen the killer in a The Killing / Christie fashion?

teejwood · 06/05/2012 08:36

after last night's ep my money is on sexbloke
oh... or perhaps the other journalist - he's tall too.....

i think anja's mum didn't arrive on time from copenhagan. think her dad is in sweden but obvs the new wife is not keen on anja so that is much more damning of him not being there to be with her at the end. Sad

name i'm trying to remember if he has been around too - i think perhaps he has, but would need to rewatch to check. unless anyone else can remember?
there is just too much going on to take it all in and recall perfectly

lurkingaround · 06/05/2012 09:16

Yes, I wonder about seeing Saga's sex bloke and then not seeing him again.
And are we not sure it's a policeman? It was odd that the other journo went to pick up Daniel. I wonder what his background is.

And I suppose every character is shown as having feet of clay, human. They all have their faults. Saga is remarkably perceptive at times, but obviously has asperger's, or is somewhere on the ASD spectrum.
Martin's weak. When it comes to women.
Daniel is arrogant and not v nice. Is it just the gritty reality of the show.

I always fancied a holiday in Scandinavia, it's kind of bleak tho, isn't it. Not in a rush now.

lurkingaround · 06/05/2012 09:17

Tho I suppose it's a bit daft going off a holiday cos of a thriller series!!

teejwood · 06/05/2012 09:31

lurking i have had the same holiday thoughts about denmark thanks to the killing!

it was really fishy that the other journo went to get Daniel but if he was the killer it would kind of make sense. he's using daniel to be his mouthpiece because he can't do it without drawing attention to himself. so he needs to be sure his mouthpiece stays safe and in one piece until the end of the project - hence his concern. by saying that daniel can take his name off the piece on immigrants again he is deflecting any link between his own and TT's opinions.

[btw - i also think daniel will be expendable/dead by the end of this]

but.... there was something about the posture of the other journalist that did not seem to match the hitman who killed henning. the journo has that tall person's slight hunch. whereas sexbloke has better posture.

also - how did the killer know the police had found anja? well, he was in her bed when she took the call Wink

lurkingaround · 06/05/2012 09:37

Absolutely, Daniel is expendable. Poor old Daniel is a mere puppet. And he thinks he's so important.
Ah, what you say makes sense re the other journo and your suspicions teej. He needs Daniel to be alive and well. Maybe you're right about him. It hadn't struck me.

lurkingaround · 06/05/2012 09:42

I hope they give us a bit of the journo's background next week.

teejwood · 06/05/2012 10:20

but lurking i still think sexbloke is more in the frame.

  • was his shock at seeing the pics during their first encounter because he hadn't expected to see them at this strange woman's flat? the killer has everything planned - he's not keen on surprises.
  • he knows he's onto an easy shag with Saga so why not follow her from the club or even go over and say hi? unless he fears she's starting to get his scent?
  • as i said, he was in her bed when she took the call about Anja, so had inside info that she had been spotted and then it was easy to pick up the rest from the police radio
  • when he said "haven't you guessed how i knew about anja" i thought he was leading her to think he was a policeman. what if he really meant "haven't you guessed it was because i was in your bed when you took the call", hence why he wonders whether she is on to him...

of course sexbloke might just be ronseal - a bloke who has got himself a sure thing with a woman who is in the middle of something mad. he may be sacrificed at the end to provide tragedy for Saga - the loss of a man who can "put up with her" as Martin might say - or indeed help to save her when the chips are down. but right now i think he's in the frame for the baddie.

teejwood · 06/05/2012 10:22

and as soon as i have finished writing that i think what if the journo is the killer and is using daniel as a form of jealous revenge on him
Confused
need to stop thinking about this. am off to homebase - it might be marginally less confusing

lurkingaround · 06/05/2012 10:51

Not sure I agree about the sex guy. He is tall and thin. Hmmm.

Like yourself, teej, have to stop driving myself nuts thinking. Am off to the park. In winter clothes. À la sweden/Denmark.

KurriKurri · 06/05/2012 13:12

I thought the journo too, - the bomb in the car episode would have been good revenge if it was him - scaring Daniel to death because he hates him.

But then again hasn't TT been planning it all for years - so how long have journo and Daniel actually known each other?

Feel very let down by Martin sleeping with Wig woman.

And what has Stefan done with the man he ironed to death?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 06/05/2012 15:53

Only just spotted this thread and as I'm in the middle of cooking Dinner, I'm just marking my place. Bloody love The Bridge Grin.

carabos · 06/05/2012 16:55

Daniel's definitely for the chop.
August's online friend is somehow involved.
The shag is somehow involved.
Charlotte's wig is crucial to the plot Grin.
70s porn star/ social worker guy is a parallel killer who's going to confuse them all.

Can't wait for next week!

KurriKurri · 06/05/2012 16:58

Daniel reminds me vaguely of Christopher Walken - keep expecting him to dance Grin

teejwood · 06/05/2012 17:37

slightly OT but in the current lego minifigures range there is an evil kneivel type figure with bouffant hair and a dodgy tache. when DC opened it today i burst out OMG it's stefan lindberg! DP fixed me with a quizzical look.

lurking i was wearing a scandi brand raincoat today!

kurri am loving your work - "ironed to death" Grin and you are soooo right - the actor who plays daniel is like a younger christopher walken!

see, i was thinking about the disposal of the body too. the police hadn't seen stefan exit the building with a body, so either he has the body stashed somewhere in the building (chopped into small pieces) or he has used some type of acid to dissolve the body away. when he was in the shower and all that blood was being washed off it was obvious he had been busy as he hadn't been covered in that much blood after the initial murder - or even Martin would have spotted it...

welcome jilted!

carabos you are so right - stefan is both a distraction and involved!

teejwood · 06/05/2012 17:42

just realised i hadn't said hello to daffodilly on joining the thread yesterday
