Drogon

DaenerysTargaryen · 02/04/2012 22:45

yes thats true Trills, in the book she was at yaya's though wasn't she?

DaenerysTargaryen · 02/04/2012 22:46

Ros? am I being thick? Grin probably

DaenerysTargaryen · 02/04/2012 22:48

Grin @ noone... yes Drogon was lovely! (as was Drogo) I want one!

NooneLikesAGreyjoy · 03/04/2012 08:06

yep, barra and her mum were kept at Alayaya's

NooneLikesAGreyjoy · 03/04/2012 08:16

oooooh, nearly forgot, I loved the scene between littlefinger and cersei!

BusinessTrills · 09/04/2012 10:28

I think it definitely adds to things having these scenes that couldn't exist in the books (because no point-of-view characters were there).

Do you really want one Daenerys? You know how they grow up.

OracleOnACrossacle · 09/04/2012 10:28

morning folks, we see Greyjoy snr today!!!!

BusinessTrills · 09/04/2012 10:39

We've had so many grumpy old men, if we see Greyjoy Sr does that mean we also see Theon's sister?

OracleOnACrossacle · 09/04/2012 10:46

Theon meets her off the bat, doesnt he? her, and her suckling babe.

yes, my Lyanna theory. I mentioned it before, but I am certain that Jon is Lyanna and Rhaegar's. theres the reference to the blue flowers that link Ned's memories of her and Jon's first night at the wall. Ned's promise to her, and the fact that Arya apparently looks a little like her, and Jon looks just like Arya.

Also in ADWD when Bran is with the children, he sees Lyanna and Ned. Lyanna doesnt strike me as the sort who would just go meekly with Rhaegar, unless she wanted to. Ned took Jon in to protect Lyanna and Rhaegar's child from Robert, if he could allow what happened to Elina's children, imagine what he would do to the product of Lyanna and Rhaegar.

BusinessTrills · 09/04/2012 10:58

There are quite a few theories about that on t'internets. Most of them seem to think that Lyanna was kidnapped rather than going willingly though.

Hated so much in the TV show where Ned says to Jon "Next time I see you, we'll talk about your mother". Er, so that'll be never then.

OracleOnACrossacle · 09/04/2012 11:03

yep, I been trawling saddo and its quite popular. but I really think she went willingly, what with being named queen of love and beauty, and she was just so... feisty.

I hated that too, and when Cat remembered asking Ned who Jon's mother was, and Ned getting so upset about it. I desperately wanted Ned to go to the wall.

BusinessTrills · 09/04/2012 11:04

Yes the flashbacks to Lyanna and Ned and his brother are good aren't they? When do we get those?

OracleOnACrossacle · 09/04/2012 11:08

they were in ADWD iirc. Bran sees them, and at first thinks its Arya he can see, but its Lyanna (who can kick her brothers' arses) and I love Barristen's story too. theres a sadness to his realisation that for years he has been bound by duty rather than whats right, and he has given up happiness to that cause.

BusinessTrills · 09/04/2012 11:09

Ooooh, just remembered, book 2 is when everyone is saying "Where is Barristan the Bold, he'd be lost without a king to serve?", and all of the various kings (Robb, Joffrey, Renly, Stannis) all think he must be with one of the others.

BusinessTrills · 09/04/2012 11:09

I have MIL visiting today so won't be able to watch til later in the week. :(

OracleOnACrossacle · 09/04/2012 11:11

yy, I love the fact that they only look at each other!

how frustrating, how long is she staying?

whathaveiforgottentoday · 09/04/2012 12:03

Can I join this thread too? I'm just re reading book 5 at the moment but I may ditch it and go back to book 2 as I seem to have forgotten much of the detail. I always assumed Jon was Lyanna and Rhaegar's son. It just seemed completely against Ned's personality to have a bastard but bringing up Lyanna's as one of his own and sullying his own name in the process seems much more noble.

totally agree!!

I have had to re-read after finishing ADWD, seeing things retrospectively makes it all clearer, you can see the foundations being laid for the rest of the story.

am trying to find Ramsay Bolton's casting and I cant!

DaenerysTargaryen · 09/04/2012 21:24

I always pronounced Gilly with a soft G.. I never pronounce the names right.

DaenerysTargaryen · 09/04/2012 21:26

DaenerysTargaryen · 09/04/2012 21:26

her silver didn't die either that annoyed me last week

DaenerysTargaryen · 09/04/2012 22:08

Why are they not staying true to the book this time? I feel like I'm watching a different story. Well, the same but different.
