Grey Wind looked amazing. Melisandre just as I imagined, perfect! Davos looks all wrong to me though, just not at all what I had in my head, same for Ser Dontos, will take some getting used to...

I wish we'd seen more of Arya. I guess there are starting to be so many storylines and characters now that we're only going to get a short snippet of each per episode :(

I guess we'll meet Brienne next week!

Ok I am on the wrong thread - I have not read the books. BUT wow, and at the baby killing at the end, it did shock me tbh.

I'm so glad they didnt show too much of the herodesque bastard-killing, Osha looks older, so does Bran. and Craster made my skin crawl. did you see Gilly? when I googled her I was worried that they would make her too pretty, but she looks just right.

I want a Direwolf. instead I got a bloody Jack Russell.

I think the episode eased me in gently then went brutal at the end, which shocked me even more, yikes.

I read a spoiler at the end of the last series so knew Eddard Stark was getting beheaded, however when it actually happened I was still surprised a little bit - I couldn't believe he could be done away with!

I'm going to be honest and say i don't know all of the names mentioned here and didn't know who the "thenightisdarkandfullofterrors" woman was, but am going to watch the episode again and try and get up to date.

I looked away just as they showed Gilly! realised it was her and looked back but not in time!

I can sympathise with all the name confusion. It's been a year since I read the first two books and am really struggling to remember.

Mind you, I have also spent the hour explaining who is who for the benefit for DS1 who only watched a couple of episodes. He has promised to be my GoT buddy for the duration this time.

I have to say, I wasnt thrilled with the casting of Stannis. Stannis is not attractive. and older than Dillane. however, he played him very well. I loved the "Ser jaime, kingslayer - call him what he is" thing.

I must admit to being ever so slightly disappointed that the Lannisters aren't as golden haired as they are in the books.. "hair like spun gold" wasn't it?

I was confused as to who was the onion knight and who was Stannis - looks to me like Davos is the more lordly-looking of the two.

Craster not creepy enough - Walder Frey look very creepy (and not as old) as I imagined him, and now Craster is significantly less creepy than that.

Big wolef looks CGI. Good plan for a weapon though. My big wolef will beat any animal you choose to name, seeing as how you don't have dragons.

That girl can't be Alayaya because Tyrion would never have chosen a Litlefinger-owned brothel as his secret-passageway-to-his-special-whore brothel.

Ros has done well for herself though, especially using exactly the lines that Littlefinger used on her in the last series.
