I heard that interview too, on the radio in the car! That's why I looked the film up. I really enjoyed it.

Don't let the Friends connection put you off Trust- it's totally different- serious drama. In RL, Schwimmer is a big supporter of women's refuges and rape support groups, and apparently gave talks on the issue of rape myths before this film was played at screenings. I think he's a good egg.

who'd a thunkit ?

no reason why not, tbh Xmas Blush

Blimey, i never knew that of him - will def give that film a go then! Ta BOF

valiumredhead · 18/12/2011 10:49

did you come away thinking WTAF? how did he get away it all??.. I was chuffed he did tho

BUt Mr Nice DIDN'T get away with anything - his prints are all over the same knife that the other one was stabbed with. He'll get done for all the murders now.

Jellykat · 18/12/2011 21:26

valium Apologies, the Mr Nice i was yakking about is the film about the RL drug smuggler Howard Marks en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Nice
This one didn't stab anyone, but he did get a lot of people extremely stoned Smile

Oh! Blush that makes things a bit clearer Grin

Joe Gilgun is amazing isn't he, the way he reacted when Trev told him about Lol was just brilliant. He's also bloody great in Misfits too!

This is why I'm desperate to watch what went previously. The characters are just so compelling and real. I did like Woody too, he was so funny and witty and his family so 80s suburban (quite like a few members of my family at the time - I remember it well!!!)

I'm ashamed to say that the title put me off and so many of these dramas are set in London which is so removed from my own background but this I could relate to!

I sky plussed TIE '88 and watched it last night with DH. We loved it. Loved the film and '86, too. Its the best thing I've watched on TV for years and DH agrees. I dont think I have ever been more affected by TV as I was by the rape scene in '86. Absolutely chilling. Shane Meadows is a genius. The cast are very, very talented.

I absolutely love poor darling LOL, too, and I am a little bit in love with Woody (who is also hilarious in Misfits).

Great drama. Need more of it!
