Oh no. Just channel hopping and realised lovely Gareth Malone is doing his 'choir' thing again-and I have missed the first half. I didn't even know it was on. Sad

Can we have him on for a webchat?

CMOTdibbler · 22/11/2011 11:48

That would be fab - he is such a star. And cute Grin

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2011 11:48

That would be fab MmeLindor.

I was telling DH that there should be an MN choir. He said would we all have to wear balaclavas to avoid being identified in RL. Grin

maybeyoushoulddrive · 22/11/2011 12:22

Such an uplifting song and the story of these women was very moving. The song is on You Tube if anyone's interested - I'm welling up listening to it nowSmile
I love Gareth too!

MmeLindor. · 22/11/2011 13:49

Gareth and The Choir on Twitter.

We should have them on for a webchat, will suggest to MNHQ.

MirandaGoshawk · 22/11/2011 14:23

He is a gifted teacher. I love it that he knows people see him as geeky/camp but he carries on regardless and always wins them over.

I'll be in the MN choir! at the back

MrsJamin · 22/11/2011 14:31

Goodness I don't think I have cried so much throughout a whole programme! The wives were truly inspirational and I think have brought a very human and emotional side to our understanding of military life. They sounded amazing too. Can't imagine how they held back the tears for the RAH performance but I'm v glad they did.

Marinesmrs · 22/11/2011 14:43

OMG!!! Cant believe you are talking about us all on here too!!! I'm one of the Chivenor Choir ladies....... its been a massive whirlwind over the past few weeks - after being filmed for the last 8 months is weird that people are seeing what we have been doing now! The response has been amazing and overwhelming - thank you all xxxxx

MmeLindor. · 22/11/2011 14:45

MarinesMrs
Hello. You were all really fabulous. I do think that the song should be released as a single in time for Xmas. With proceeds going to charity.

The choir is trending on Twitter.

Hulababy · 22/11/2011 14:46

Well done to you and the rest of the choir Marinesmrs!

Marinesmrs · 22/11/2011 14:51

Hello!!! We were played on BBC 2 this morning by Chris evans and hes now campaigning for the single to be released for Christmas!!!!! Exciting times.......

We are all so far from home and sometimes - it's lonely! Sometimes we do get stereotyped (and have not very nice things said just because of our husbands jobs) ........ and I think if the programme has done nothing else its shown people that the names you here on the news being injured or worse are real people with real families behind them.

Its so nice to know that people are supporting us and enjoying us!!!!!

X factor who?????? ;)

SweetestThing · 22/11/2011 14:51

Marinesmrs, you all did brilliantly - it gave us a real insight into what your lives are like and your choir is amazing. Thank you for giving us your music - and you lucky, lucky things, getting to meet the wonderful Gareth.

harrietlichman · 22/11/2011 14:56

I watched it this morning on iplayer, after listening to Chris Evans...Cried like a baby, was a fantastic problem, love Gareth and thought the women were really inspiring too - definatley supporting Radio 2's campaign to get it released (and then Christmas number 1)
Hi Marinesmrs - you must be so proud of being part of such a great programme! Am also jealous you got to hang out with Gareth!

Marinesmrs · 22/11/2011 15:01

What Gareth Does is amazing..... I'm sure if you listened to us individually it would be a train wreck lol - he is the master of choirs!!! If you check out his facebook - the illustration as his profile pic is the one we had made for him and presented when we sang the song for him! Gotta love him

Bucharest · 22/11/2011 15:13

Well done Marinesmrs and all of you and the lovely lovely Gareth who makes me cry with every programme he does. (I wanted to hurt that nasty PE teacher blokey in the comprehensive school who refused to sing, I wanted to be at him with a shovel I tell ya)

If we're having a MN choir I shall man the tea urn for the breaks.

Jdub · 22/11/2011 15:24

Another MASSIVE fan here! You were all SO good and cope so incredibly well. Really amazing and inspiring women, and an absolutely overwhelmingly powerful song! You and your families should feel so proud!

alibubbles · 22/11/2011 15:31

Amazing, beautiful and moved to tears

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2011 15:43

Hello Marinemrs. I wondered whether any of the choir were on MN! The whole thing was brilliant fom beginning to end, and made such a nice change from all the crap tv at the moment. The children were great , they seem to cope so well and you have to be strong for them too.

So the wives and girlfriends aren't all army then?

EdithWeston · 22/11/2011 16:06

Saltire: no - high Bootie count.

dizzyday07 · 22/11/2011 16:08

Can I join the Gareth Malone fanclub? I think he's fab, and so are the choirs. Watched the last episode last night and was in tears. I would definately buy the single if it was released. A Christmas Number 1 would be fab-u-lous!

Saltire · 22/11/2011 16:08

OK I just wondered as a lot of the comments on facebook and you tube talk about soldiers and soldiers wives and soldiers charities etc.

Love the song, have linked to it on facebook

MmeLindor. · 22/11/2011 16:09

I do hope that Chris Evens is successful in his campaign. Would much rather support the troops and their families than line Simon Cowell's pockets.
