I've just seen a segment from the new series on The Culture Show, Brix and Lund are the only characters reprising their roles and there are less episodes than the first series, but according to Sofie Grabol it's on a higher level and more in depth! Cannot wait until next month!!!

x-post with mousy!!

Blackduck · 28/11/2011 10:21

Strange is, well, strange and I suppose he has the background, but motive? Unless he is from a different agency who want the anti-terrorism bill toughened up.
The blonde soldier strikes me as dodgy and raben's father in law certainly knows more than he is telling!

teejwood · 28/11/2011 10:35

blackduck strange joined the army (reluctantly) on military service and then stayed on for 'a few years' - is it possible that he was in afghanistan and is "perk"?

one thing that did just occur to me - do we think poulsen was going back to afghanistan to try and get away from whoever killed anne? if so, then it is unlikely the murderer would also be going on active service - so we are looking at someone who would be staying back on base in denmark or somone who has left the army.

i'm also suspicious of the minister's "heart attack" - perhaps they are trying to cover up an attempt on his life?

god i really need to get back to work - look forward to catching up with all the latest theories later!

Funtimewincies · 28/11/2011 11:37

Troels looks a bit too much like an ex-boyfriend of mine for comfort with the stubble Melina Shock.

Thanks for the 'perk' info Libra!

Hmm, interesting theory about Strange. The military thing might be nothing as Denmark has national service (I think) but it makes me think about why Lund has been brought back. Is Strange a nutter with a Lund fixation who has persuaded Brix to get her back in so that Strange can see whether she can 'beat' him by solving the crime puzzle he's set?

Hmmm, I think that I'm getting a bit paranoid now Grin.

Funtimewincies · 28/11/2011 11:38

Oops, cross post again.

Funtimewincies · 28/11/2011 11:39

Or not reading Teej's post properly in the first place Blush...

Lunchtime.

HedleyLamarr · 28/11/2011 12:09

I think Anne knew her killer, judging from her reaction on the tape of her released via Kodmanis website. Still have no idea who Fellow Believer is, but he/she is definitely behind the killings.

redroof · 28/11/2011 14:26

Just popping on briefly to share my notes from 3&4:

?	Buch fancies himself as a detective!
?	Monberg wanted the case reopened, then suffers heart attack. I?m becoming suspicious of this ?heart attack?
?	Who else, from the government knew about the possibility of the case being reopened?
?	Bilal is involved.
?	Strange - has military past.

Libra -very interesting post there, and good detective work!
So much info to take in, I'm becoming rather confused, and suspecting everyone.
Lovely to see the patterned knitwear back. Teej - Tak for the link. Love the jumper, though not the price!

MelinaM · 28/11/2011 18:12

Very interesting update, tak LibraGrin

Can someone please please explain to me the difference between the us and Danish versions? I saw the us first series and have started watch the Danish series two and am wondering what happened?

redroof · 28/11/2011 18:33

You really, really need to watch the Danish S1, wah! I haven't seen the US version, but I think there are quite a few differences. Am I right in thinking, the identity of the killer was never revealed in the US remake?

Libra · 28/11/2011 19:33

dH wishes me to point out that in season one episode one Vagn actually uses the insult "perker" when he is in the Asian shop at the beginning, thus demonstrating that the author knows, and has used before, this word.
I feel he has thought about this all day.

Funtimewincies · 28/11/2011 19:45

I think that your dh deserves a Wine for his committment to the investigation Libra Grin.

redroof · 28/11/2011 19:49

Impressive sleuthing there, DH of Libra!

teejwood · 28/11/2011 20:29

libra with that level of obsession dedication your dh really should join us on the thread - he'd fit right in and be a real asset! Grin do you think he has a secret whiteboard in the garden shed, perchance?

redroof my pleasure re the observer link - it just made me laugh so much. perhaps we should all try and get hold of some of that beer for a communal session during the last ep

wah dump the us remake and come over to the danish side, you know you want to Wink

teejwood · 28/11/2011 20:36

funtime meant to say, you are quite right that if strange is the killer then he is playing with lund a bit - it is a tried and tested thriller strategy for the killer to keep close to the person most likely to uncover them, so they are able to stay one step ahead. and was it strange or brix who said something about keeping lund around as she would just go off investigating on her own anyway? this way they keep her close and - broadly - know what she knows.

the fly in my ointment is that sogaard, bilal and strange did not appear to know each other but i am willing to overlook that for the time being Wink

CarelessWispa · 28/11/2011 22:46

Can I join in? Just finished watching ep 4. Had to watch 3 twice as kept falling asleep and missing important info. It's a bit more demanding to watch than the first series, no?

OK, my observations:

  • I too love the jumper, but sadly too ££££. Don't think Father Xmas can stretch to that... I was pleased to see it back though and replace boring red one.
  • I'm Shock that's it might be Strang, but it does also, strangely [see what I did there?] make sense. But in a sad, romantic way I just want him and Lund to get it on. She needs to get Bengt out of her system, after all.
  • Libra's husband v clever.
  • I was glad to see Buch enjoying his chocolate.
  • Sogaard v shifty.

Roll on next week!

MelinaM · 28/11/2011 23:38

Welcome to the investigation Careless Grin

Maybe they will, maybe they won't, or maybe it's him!!! Oh dear too much Wine yet again!

We should definitely track down that beer for the final episode teej ...only another 3 weekends left! Sad

OP posts:
Blackduck · 29/11/2011 06:48

It was strange who said about her going off on her own......
So who do we have?
Blonde guy
Bilal
Strange
Husband (unlikely but let's keep everyone in view).
father
.....

wahwahwah · 29/11/2011 11:39

But we're there nuts in the cakes? No the killer wasn't quite outed in the us version. You thought he was - there was photographic evidence of his whereabouts from a toll bridge camera - then she gets a call from the traffic police to say that they were sorry that they couldnt get the photos becaus rthe camera hadn't been working for ages. So who faked the photo...? And why...?

I was oddly happy to see Butch eating his chocolate. Not sure why but he looked like he was enjoying it - not sure I could over those images (or a crispy bacon sandwich for that matter).

Will someone please tell me to get off line and get dressed for my interview?

WowOoo · 29/11/2011 11:50

I'm sure there were nuts in the cakes. It was just left in the air. Seems like the kind of thing she'd overlook. Made me laugh.

Go away Wahwah and good luck with the interview!

CarelessWispa · 29/11/2011 14:13

Yes, good luck Wahwah!

Wasn't Bjorn allergic to gluten too?

wahwahwah · 29/11/2011 15:37

That's right. She probably just killed her soon-to-be step father.

WowOoo · 29/11/2011 15:38

Or made him seriously ill ..Just before his wedding day. .And didn't really seem to notice or care..

TarquinGyrfalcon · 29/11/2011 19:15

As soon as her step father to be bit into the cake I said to DH that I bet there were nuts in it.

I'm very suspicious of the blond soldier, but I keep reminding myself that this is The Killing and every clue could just be a red herring.
