I've just seen a segment from the new series on The Culture Show, Brix and Lund are the only characters reprising their roles and there are less episodes than the first series, but according to Sofie Grabol it's on a higher level and more in depth! Cannot wait until next month!!!

As soon as her mum said 'and don't forget, Bjorn is allergic to nuts' and she obviously wasn't concentrating... you knew what was going to happen. They are playing too much on her inability to maintain relationships.

The blond soldier just fancies Louise. He will turn out to be the 'good guy' and do something noble. Her father is a bit suspect though. Could he be Fellow Believer? Is it some wild plot to stop the Anti Terrorism bill going through?

topsi · 30/11/2011 18:44

seriously have I missed the second series? I didnt see it advertised any where!!! Angry

topsi · 30/11/2011 18:47

not even on sky anytime Angry

Funtimewincies · 30/11/2011 19:19

Sad Topsi, is it on BBC iplayer? I only knew about it because we get the Radio Times.

I'm having pickled herring for my tea, by the way Grin.

moragbellingham · 30/11/2011 19:42

So I was washing up, and thinking maybe Jens Peter Raben is the officer who lost it in Afghanistan and can't remember a thing?

aloiseb · 30/11/2011 21:43

I think "can't remember a thing" is becoming a bit of a theme, this series!
more Wine please
Agree with everyone who's said it's much harder to follow.
Bit of a scunner about Blondielocks being Morton's lover! Of course we haven't seen Morton as he has been busy with his heart attack. I'm sure the politicians are deeply implicated in whatever went on in Afghanistan - wonder why though.
It makes me more suspicious than ever of buttoned up FIL. Maybe he had Jens' memory modified in some secret lab somewhere, so's he couldn't remember what happened?

RoginaInWellies · 01/12/2011 08:53

OK - I'm going to defend Lund over the cakes. I think she did remember the nuts, but he wheezed that gluten affected him too. Sorry, but her Mum is at fault there - honestly, would you not mention the gluten thing when Lund is bringing cakes? - CAKES FFS. Most of them are going to have gluten, aren't they? Unless you specifically look for an alternative. So her Mum is either guilty or doesn't know her fiance that well.

I've convinced myself anyway.

On the actual case, I'm still confused. But thinking.

wahwahwah · 01/12/2011 09:23

I don't like the head doctor lady person in the prison. She is up to something. I think he witnessed something and is being made to. Look crazy so that they can keep pumping him full of drugs to keep him under control and discredit him.

wahwahwah · 01/12/2011 09:24

Damn iPad putting in full stops she full stops don't belong.

teejwood · 01/12/2011 09:35

rogina i think they left it nicely vague with the cakes - were there traces of nuts? was it actually gluten (which her mother had failed to mention, so not lund's fault)? another little mystery within the mystery Grin

aloise the story seems to suggest that Jens suffered fairly serious head injuries, so whether or not he was the officer who went bonkers his injuries meant he suffered from amnesia and can't remember what happened. perhaps when the memories started bleeding through that is when he went bonkers in denmark?

i'll need to watch it again but did thomsen say they received a distress call from the other squad before or after their team was hit? if there was a call from another squad, perhaps there is no record as it was some sort of secret squirrel elite unit, whose activities are being kept under wraps for some sort of national security reason? Hmm

of course an alternative storyline could be that raban etc were on patrol, got hit and he then decided to wreak vengance on the local village, hence the abuses, but does not remember because he was injured?

teejwood · 01/12/2011 09:37

and as wahwah says they are trying to stop him remembering by ensuring he is pumped full of drugs... perhaps jens remembering what happened will be a key part of the denouement?

CarelessWispa · 01/12/2011 09:53

Yes, I'm in agreement that Jens is being given nasty meds to stop him remembering the full details. So blonde doctor woman in on it, obviously. But, the fact that he's set off now to warn the remaining members of the troop suggest he remembers enough to know something bad's going to happen to them. Or else Dragsholm warned them all when she paid them a visit prior to her death.

Sorry, just a little mid morning ramble.

Oh, and Rogina I agree about the cakes/gluten thing. Coffee on its own (or a glass of Wine) would have been much simpler, in my view.

teejwood · 01/12/2011 16:49

ohhh - interesting piece in the Guardian re: translations and cultural references here! one of the benefits of having digested every episode of wallander made to date and having read a few of the books is knowing about that bridge between denmark and sweden Grin
is anyone reading the guardian threads too? i went to do so the other day but there were 500+ posts on just one thread and i didn't have the time so gave up

redroof · 01/12/2011 18:02

I've been reading the Vicky Frost blogs Teej, but none of the comments. That's a great piece, and just goes to show we could have missed a few subtle clues through the language barrier.

moragbellingham · 02/12/2011 21:35

That link makes things a bit more interesting Teej as it just looks like Dragsholm is found in a park.

diddl · 03/12/2011 13:03

So, due to unforeseen circs, I haven´t seen any of this yet.

Is it too late to start?

Can´t get iplayer as not in UK.

WowOoo · 03/12/2011 14:07

Thanks for that link teejwood.

Diddl, quite a bit has gone on but we could always give you a briefing of what has happened so far.

diddl · 03/12/2011 15:04

Ooh-that would be very kind-if anyone can be bothered.
Pretty please & TIA!Grin

MelinaM · 03/12/2011 16:44

Fabulous link teej, shall make things a lot easier for us in the future! ..here's hoping anyway! Xmas Grin

WowOoo · 03/12/2011 17:00

Didl maybe too late to start as after tonights 1st episode, it will be half way through.
If you want I can try to remember the key points. Confused Anyone care to help?!
A woman is found dead kind of crucified but kneeling. She worked with the army as a solicitor. They record her tied up and she reads a message damning the Danes and Westerners. Clear Islamist message.
Then,....

Be back in a bit

redroof · 03/12/2011 19:14

T -2 hours! Oh my..I didn't know where else to come to and share my sheer delight -DH has just come home from work with a massive box of chocs sent from a Danish colleague! I've put a photo on my profile, but it doesn't do the size justice. What a perfect accompaniment to tonight's viewing. Sending you all a virtual choc from Denmark (but sorry Lund's FIL-to-be, they contain nuts aplenty!)

redroof · 03/12/2011 19:17

FIL?! Meant stepfather, excitement's all too much!

HedleyLamarr · 03/12/2011 19:45

Diddl, use a UK based proxy server. 'Tis easy to do. Just Google proxies and get one. It will fool the BBC into thinking you're here. Wink

crunchbag · 03/12/2011 21:03

Thanks for the link teej.

Hvor er Lund?

teejwood · 03/12/2011 21:21
