Just wondering what you are making of it so far!

Casting on the whole is very good, a few things have been changed but have been thinking of what is to come.

Not looking forward to seeing Viserys (even though he deserves it, the arrogant twat!)

Or worse what Theon does when he loses Rickon and Bran!!

My favourite portayal is definitely Peter Drinklage's Tyrion Lannister, he is fab!!

Yes fair enough, agreed.

I have been reading spoilers on the atlantic webpage, can't help it. Really don't know how I am going to last a year until the next series...

TrilllianAstra · 24/06/2011 21:30

Don't read spoilers, read the books! It's so much better if you get the things in context.

ILovePonyo · 24/06/2011 21:46

But then I have to wait for dp to finish the first book I got him for fathers day! Hmm maybe I can read it in the day whilst he's at work, as long as the baby doesn't distract me too much Wink

KaraStarbuckThrace · 30/06/2011 15:41

I have just read on Wikipedia that Natalie Dormer has been cast as Margaery Tyrell! Now I think Dormer was fab in the Tudors but she is far too old to play Margaery!!

OP posts:
TrilllianAstra · 30/06/2011 15:48

Definitely too old, especially as Joffrey is realistically 13,she needs to be 16.

TrilllianAstra · 30/06/2011 15:49

Phew - worried for a minute that this was the non-spoiler thread.

What I mean is that she needs to be the correctage to match the "kids" - Joffrey & Sansa and Arya etc, not the scaled up age for the adults and near-adults (Robb, Dany, Jon, etc).

KaraStarbuckThrace · 30/06/2011 16:47

Yeah, I was thinking that even with the scaled up ages, she is still too old. I would say for the series I would expect Margaery to be about 18-19 max.

I read on a blog the suggestion that Christopher Eccleston would make a good Stannis Baratheon, it would be a good selection. Can't wait to find out who will be cast next!

MrsRhettButler · 30/06/2011 17:07

I dunno, I reckon they could make her look 16....

There's nothing worse than waiting for the next series of something good. I'm waay too impatient aren't I Grin

I'm waiting for book four now, hurry up amazon. Why is it cheaper than the rest? Is it not so long? Confused

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/07/2011 10:08

I have reserved my copy, am reading Book 3 Part 2!

OP posts:
TrilllianAstra · 01/07/2011 10:19

But oculd they make her look 16 in the way that Sansa looks 13? Not Dawson's Creek teenagers but actual real live not-yet-adults?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/07/2011 16:12

I dunno... she is very beautiful but it is a more mature beauty she has not the innocence I would expect Margaery Tyrell to have. Anne Hathaway would have been a better choice.

OP posts:
TrilllianAstra · 01/07/2011 16:17

Anne Hathaway is nearly 30.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/07/2011 16:28

Really?? I thought she was more like 25!! Then again last thing I saw her in was Ella Enchanted...

Well, she was 25, at once point! :o

MrsRhettButler · 01/07/2011 16:59

Book 3 part 2? Confused am I missing one out?

HattiFattner · 01/07/2011 17:01

my lovely brother emailed me the kindle versions. Sadly, I have managed to read books 1. 2 and 3 and now on book 4 - not much getting done at home!

I had never heard of this series before, but I am really enjoying it.

CatPower · 01/07/2011 17:04

Book 3 was split into two volumes - Steel & Snow and Blood & Gold, due to being fecking enormous!

TrilllianAstra · 01/07/2011 17:51

Book 3 was published in 2 volumes in the UK but 1 in the US I think...
If it just says it is Storm of Swords without any subtitle then you've got the whole thing.

MrsRhettButler · 01/07/2011 19:20

Wow! You guys have just saved me from missing out a Whole entire book!

SPOILER ALERT

the book I have just finished the last chapter was Jon escaping from the wildlings. I need book two right?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/07/2011 21:16

Yes you need book 2! You have just read A storm of swords: steel and snow.

OP posts:
TrilllianAstra · 01/07/2011 21:28

Just looked at the end of my book and yes you need this one before A Feast for Crows

MrsRhettButler · 02/07/2011 00:16

Thank you thank you thank you! I would have been a bit Confused

Ok, I'm ordering that now

And now I'm happy that there's an extra book I didn't know about... Grin

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 08/07/2011 11:32

For anyone that's interested and doesn't mind casting spoilers, GRRM has announced the casting for Brienne on his LJ

Definite spoilers...

I'm interested to see what she actually looks like in character.

TrillianAuror · 08/07/2011 11:43

A bit Hollywood ugly but she's apparently 6'3 so that's a good start. I'd like to see her standing next to ickle Loras.
