Just wondering what you are making of it so far!

Casting on the whole is very good, a few things have been changed but have been thinking of what is to come.

Not looking forward to seeing Viserys (even though he deserves it, the arrogant twat!)

Or worse what Theon does when he loses Rickon and Bran!!

My favourite portayal is definitely Peter Drinklage's Tyrion Lannister, he is fab!!

She's supposed to be 18.

SummerRain · 15/06/2011 16:12

And she's supposed to be gorgeous.

TrillianAstra · 15/06/2011 16:33

She is good looking. Just not as I expected her.

carrotsandpeasifyouplease · 15/06/2011 17:23

sorry just jumping on this thread- have been watching as big fan of books - Was completely in love with the Hound in the books, i fact would reread just his bits - anyway I was very dissapointed at the casting UNTIL I looked up what else he has been in and I am now hooked on the Book Group and yes I think he is definitely going to live up to my crush, can't wait for the next series.

MrsRhettButler · 15/06/2011 19:22

Ah so I still have on more book til I'm waiting like the rest of you then!
Does he really take that long writing them? I don't think i'll cope!
Book 3 was delivered to me this morning so I'm just waiting for dd to be in bed and I will start reading Grin

I'm beginning to wish I was a slower reader....
The actress for shae is pretty but as trills said not quite so innocent looking as she should have been, in fact this woman looks anything but innocent!

I wonder how long we'll have to wait for the next series?

Ephiny · 15/06/2011 20:48

Shae was not as I imagined either, I thought she should have been younger and more girlish and 'innocent' and submissive in her manner - which would add to the impact of what happens later. Though maybe they're going to do something slightly different with her character in the series?

TrillianAstra · 16/06/2011 10:35

In my mind Shae looked innocent but didn't act it.

MrsRhettButler · 20/06/2011 20:59

Looking forward to tonights episode.... Can't wait to see the you know whats right at the end

Very sad it's the last one though, it went way too fast does anyone know when the next series is coming?

TrilllianAstra · 20/06/2011 21:19

Spring 2012 apparently

MrsRhettButler · 20/06/2011 21:50

too long!

TrilllianAstra · 20/06/2011 21:53

I am waiting to see my Twitter timeline explode with "loook!"

TrilllianAstra · 20/06/2011 21:54

Anyone notice that we got a (very very) brief shot of 3 men in a cage-wagon going to the Wall with Arry&co?

One of those will be very interesting :)

TrilllianAstra · 20/06/2011 22:02

I have to say I imagined Dany emerging from the flames, with darkness and fire behind her, rather than just being found the next morning.

Danaerys Stormborn, The Unburnt, Mother of Dragons. Yeah!

ILovePonyo · 20/06/2011 22:05

DRAGONS!! Brilliant ending. I really want to know more about those men in the cage...

Still love Arya, and hate fecking Joffrey. Just need dp to hurry up and read the book I got him so I can read it Grin

katkitya · 20/06/2011 22:36

He's a good little actor though, isnt he?

this time next year? thats just cruel.

OracleInaCoracle · 20/06/2011 22:38

trillian, me too

Sassyfrassy · 21/06/2011 06:39

When it went dark at the fire, I thought they were just going to cut it there and leave the dragons until next season, so I shouted rather loudly, "No, you can't stop there!" Blush

I spotted the three men as well, think it will be darker guy, he looked mysterious enough.
Just finished Bryenne's last chapter in book 4, so was interested to spot the biter =(.

Ephiny · 21/06/2011 07:17

I think it's just been an incredible series. I've read the books so knew what was coming, but still found myself in tears at the end of last week's episode (I think it was the look on Arya's face when she realises there's nothing she can do) and still got the shivers down my spine when we see Dany rise from the ashes with the dragons all around her. That scene with her speech and the fire was incredibly powerful. Can't wait for season 2!

MrsRhettButler · 21/06/2011 09:27

Ooh the dragons were gooood! I'm just coming to the end of book 3 and wish there was more of dany and her dragons... I need to know everything!

kennypowers · 21/06/2011 09:30

The King In The North!

Also, congratualtions to Kara.

Ephiny · 21/06/2011 11:26

Didn't Arya look as cute as a button with that little pixie cut! Really suited her, I thought - though maybe it was a bit too nice considering it was supposed to have been done in a hurry with a knife, and in the books it looks so awful the other boys call her 'Lumpyhead'...

RantyMcRantpants · 21/06/2011 11:38

Haven't read the books but we thoroughly enjoyed the books. There was some absolutly stunning casting and some surprises, who'd of thunk that Soldier, Soldier guy could act?

Someone sent me this link which I found amusing

One and a half men

RantyMcRantpants · 21/06/2011 11:39

And that should read "haven't read the books but we thoroughly enjoyed the series"

TrilllianAstra · 21/06/2011 13:51

Tyrion and Bronn on a romp around the countryside wounds fun.

I read someone suggesting that the Merry Wives of Walder would be fun, but I thought that everyone at The Twins looked a bit grumpy.

Riveninside · 21/06/2011 15:25

Cant wait till book 5! We're getting a signed copy Grin
