Thank goodness she is fully dilated now...

drivingmisscrazy · 07/02/2011 21:40

that new midwife is like Dawn French joined the medical profession. Amazing example of how much difference the approach can make, isn't it? yay for her

BertieBotts · 07/02/2011 21:40

And now it's too late for her to have one - so she'll have to do crowning without one, wasn't that what she was scared of? :(

QuoththeRaven · 07/02/2011 21:41

never had a natural birth, but now thats shes fully dilated she wont get an epi now will she?

KatyH · 07/02/2011 21:41

They won't give her the epidural because it could slow down her labour. She's only 3cm dilated and her contractions aren't regular yet.

BertieBotts · 07/02/2011 21:41

Oh it looks like she has had one?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 07/02/2011 21:41

Oh bless her - but why did no-one check sooner? She could have had her epi :(

msrisotto · 07/02/2011 21:41

Why couldn't she have one? I'm quite angry for her. They just ignored her. Told her to calm down!

KangarooCaught · 07/02/2011 21:41

but heart-problem lady has had an epi?

Dunoon · 07/02/2011 21:41

drivingmisscrazy · 07/02/2011 21:42

pigleychez · 07/02/2011 21:42

drivingmisscrazy · 07/02/2011 21:42

msrisotto · 07/02/2011 21:42

ng1412 · 07/02/2011 21:42

there is that jacket potato back again!!

MoonUnitAlpha · 07/02/2011 21:43

If tea drinking midwife had actually bothered to check on her she could have had her epidural in time!

Every week this hospital looks more shit.

wrigglerstea · 07/02/2011 21:43

The heart lady had to have an epi because there was too much risk to her heart in the blood pressure rise caused by being in proper labour without one.

MoldyWarp · 07/02/2011 21:43

just pulled the wool for as long as possible and hey ho - they got what they wanted

only she didn't

FriggFRIGG · 07/02/2011 21:43

oooh,SHE WANTED to give birth naturally-that explains it then...

jbells · 07/02/2011 21:43

giraffesisonadiet · 07/02/2011 21:43

Is it wrong that I can sit and munch my digestives quite happily while watching her spew?

QuoththeRaven · 07/02/2011 21:43

jacket potato? have i missed something :o

darleneconnor · 07/02/2011 21:44

You might have known what was in your best interest but this woman does not seem to be very well educated/informed and may well not have been aware of the risks.

Do you think HCPs should do risky procedures on people just becasue they ask for it, esp if they aren't aware of the pros/cons.

Onetoomanycornettos · 07/02/2011 21:44

How did that poor lady get from 3cm to fully dilated in a hospital without anyone noticing, when she is really phobic about the pain. Pretty poor, fancy saying she could have a private epidural.

I had amazing care, my midwife, who came out at home and then in the ambulance, delivered the baby, I wasn't left alone for 7cm!!!!
