MoldyWarp · 07/02/2011 21:44

tea drinker was awful
I was like that woman with dc5 - i KNEW what my births were like. I had my first epidural foe dc5 and SWORE for it

to quote my ( lovely) midwife 'You've been cheap so far'

cfc · 07/02/2011 21:44

Argh! Just been telling off the midwives (to OH) for not listening to Sara, when she knows what her body is saying and what she can cope with and not she'll have to crown without the epi!

Bet nasty original midwife got a shock when she was told that whilst she was finishing her brew, her lady was racing through her centimetres.

oldme · 07/02/2011 21:45

kettle on.......

PatTheHammer · 07/02/2011 21:45

LOL at Deano's face when she was puking. What is he going to do when he sees a baby coming out of her fanjo? Or will she send him and Mum outside again for thatGrin

birdbandit · 07/02/2011 21:45

I am due this week, shouldn't be watching this but cannot tear myself away. I am scared, very scared!

KangarooCaught · 07/02/2011 21:45

You'd never confess to being on OBEM otherwise every MN would know what your 'minge' looked like Grin There's sharing and then there's oversharing.

wrigglerstea · 07/02/2011 21:46

I suspect that pink t-shirt lady has gone from 3cm to fully in a very short time - my first was 1hr 40 mins so goodness only knows how long it would take me for a 3rd! And as soon as the new MW laid eyes on her I think she knew she would be fully.

expatinscotland · 07/02/2011 21:46

'How did that poor lady get from 3cm to fully dilated in a hospital without anyone noticing, when she is really phobic about the pain.'

because her MW was too busy drinking tea, eating biscuits, chatting and texting her husband to be arsed.

Yes, BB, now she'll have to do crowning w/o it, which she didn't want.

BoffinMum · 07/02/2011 21:46

It's making me quite cross, this programme. I haven't seen it before.

WHY are the women reclining on beds under bright lights?

WHY are they all stoned?

WHY are the midwives all sitting about on their arses dunking biscuits in their tea while the women are concerned about being left?

Is this the 1970s, I ask you????

cfc · 07/02/2011 21:46

Also, fancy telling her if she won the lottery she could pay for it. Funny fucker. Angry

QuoththeRaven · 07/02/2011 21:47

ooh section? big bunch of surgeons

Heathcliffscathy · 07/02/2011 21:47

boffin, welcome to my pain...it's shit isn't it?

carrotsandpeasifyouplease · 07/02/2011 21:47

agree that midwife much better, poor pink lady hope it is ok for her.
Julia and sswindon bloke are very funny

Ellielou02 · 07/02/2011 21:47

onetoomany it can happen, I went from 4cm to full in half an hour with dd2 :)

AnathemaDevice · 07/02/2011 21:47

This is really putting me off going into hospital for this one. Though as I've been strongly advised against a home birth by the complete cow of a consultant I don't think I've got much choice Sad

PatTheHammer · 07/02/2011 21:47

Come on people, this program is edited massively. I don't think she was left for 7cm. She had some pethidine, so somebody would have checked her at least then.

However, I did feel sorry for the poor love, her bloke doesn't seem that useful!

BoffinMum · 07/02/2011 21:48

Yes, they didn't want to give her an epi because they'd have to make an effort and sit in the room the whole time with her.

Mad people.

sheeplikessleep · 07/02/2011 21:48

heart woman very calm isn't she

babybear5 · 07/02/2011 21:48

as it is her 3rd baby she could have gone from 3 to 5 cm in half hour..not unheard of having had kids before. I know, being in the profession and i have had 5 kids, last labour going from nothing to having baby in an hour

Onetoomanycornettos · 07/02/2011 21:48

Eek, don't fancy watching the forceps delivery really...

BoffinMum · 07/02/2011 21:48

I am allowing for the editing.

darleneconnor · 07/02/2011 21:48

In the 70s they were never left alone.

BertieBotts · 07/02/2011 21:48

Oh sorry I got confused between them.

This is horrible, I don't know if I can watch :(

giraffesisonadiet · 07/02/2011 21:48

she reminds me of my supervisor

Meglet · 07/02/2011 21:48

Is the lady in the pink t-shirt on Pethidine?
