Hope this midwife is a bit more sympathetic.

Gleeb · 07/02/2011 21:37

The women of Britain thank you for keeping your nails short Grin

darleneconnor · 07/02/2011 21:37

[shocked] Could the mw not even get her name right!!

MoldyWarp · 07/02/2011 21:37

this is more like the REAL response to asking for an epidural

babybear5 · 07/02/2011 21:38

Hi all..am i wrong to think that it is quite funny watching him and 'mum' trying to be involved.
Please don't jump at me..i am a midwife and you do see it all. They won't give her an epidural incase her contractions stop and she can go home..obviously if an epidural was sited this early with no contractions then it would have been pretty pointless. They try to wait till they bout 5cm at least because you are not in established labour until you pass 3cms.

brimfull · 07/02/2011 21:38

she is having panic attack

giraffesisonadiet · 07/02/2011 21:38

mrspink27 · 07/02/2011 21:38

Poor poor woman is terrified, I dont think I would feel reassured by any of the MWs so far.. and her DH is mute... Sad

oldme · 07/02/2011 21:38

AnathemaDevice- I hope he does not say it to you when your in labour- its suprising what damage you can do to a man in that state.

Thats a good labour- mine was 4 and a half days- and they had me pushing out my c wall for an hour- so what was supposed to be the babies bald head crowning- wasn't!!! My ex saw way too much!
The MW got a telling off, in front of me! Then I had to stop pushing for an hour and then when they told me to push near the end my contractions died- bad times!
But would defo do it all again, was knackered mind!

Dunoon · 07/02/2011 21:38

This MW is better i think.

MoldyWarp · 07/02/2011 21:38

poor woman
poor poor woman

Meglet · 07/02/2011 21:39

Right, I would have thumped the midwife for that comment.

expatinscotland · 07/02/2011 21:39

'AFAIK the earlier an epi is given the higher the chances of a cascade of interventions so it really is in the Mums best interest to delay it as long as possible.'

I know what is in my best interest. I'm not 'Mum', I'm a human being who knows her own mind and body.

I know just how much pain I can cope with and when I go beyond that I know something is wrong.

And both times I felt I needed one, my brain had a feeling, it was situations where I really did.

drivingmisscrazy · 07/02/2011 21:39

she's off her head lol

Alambil · 07/02/2011 21:39

Imps7 · 07/02/2011 21:40

I hope Pink T lady can watch this back and laugh - some excellent facial expressions! (Please don't shout at me - I'm not being unsympathetic)

Alambil · 07/02/2011 21:40

msrisotto · 07/02/2011 21:40
