Probably not. I fear we are stuck with him.

Even more people will vote for him after Cheryl sticking the boot in.

MuGGGle
I thought that if I offered to send you choc you might refuse (don't ask me why I thought that, no idea) so offered to send your DD some instead. Will get a Swiss care packet together and send you something. Watch your inbox.

Ok, carry on everyone. I am off to the land of nod. It is almost 11pm and I have a dog training class tomorrow morning. Must look out the dog's passport.

God how can you say people should know what they're letting themselves in for.

Should a 17 yaer old really anticipate that a story about her granny would be published?

She should have known that? Really?

I honestly don't think that anyone could possibly imagine the sheer horror of fame tbh - as well as the up side of it as well (which I imagine the narcissist side of them enjoy, from what I see most people in the public eye are narcissistic mentalists).

Also, death threats etc., are not just words on a screen.

BitOfFun · 21/11/2010 21:49

I could never be famous. The News Of The Screws would need a new timber plant.

SuePurblybiltByElves · 21/11/2010 21:49

Eh? Wasn't it Katie's granny? Who has been sending death threats?

SuePurblybiltByElves · 21/11/2010 21:50

Imagine your Westlife story in the NoW BoF. Scandal.

BitOfFun · 21/11/2010 21:51

Exactly Sue. And then there's the Jason Manford one.

I have a John Craven and a Robbie Williams one that would shock the country at its core.

HerBeatitude · 21/11/2010 21:52

There is something a bit dubious about the x factor isn't there.

Yes it's panto, but they re real people and I'm not sure they realise waht they're signing up for.

Every year they have a hate figure don't they - last year it was Daniel. It doesn't matter how good these people are, the meejah runs negative stories abaout them. I wonder if they're told beforehand that they've been chosen to be this year's pantomime villain?

And the one about Ronnie Corbett would just blow the whole thing wide open.

SuePurblybiltByElves · 21/11/2010 21:53

Ooooo I know.

Don't even mention the Sue Pollard thing. In the interests of national security.

Katiekitty · 21/11/2010 21:54

Re the Katie's Granny story...

I strongly imagine that the Syco lawyers could have stopped this story running...

But, all headlines are good publicity so, hey, why not let it run? I imagine them thinking.

If Katie's Granny is already out there on various escort websites etc, was only a matter of time before someone made it public knowledge.

Not pleasant for Katie of course, but all families have skeletons in the cupboard. Bes to brave it now when she needs headlines eh?

But I don't have an issue with criticsim or interest, SMP. I really don't. What I have an issue with is the barrage of personal insults. It is horrible, horrible reading. Mostly because of her class, and her looks. Neither of which she can control.

Katiekitty · 21/11/2010 21:56

BoF and Sue - two words for you both:

Super Injunction

You have your good names and reputations to maintain

MsSparkle · 21/11/2010 21:56

Lougle i agree, i don't like the personal attacks about looks either but, why are you on here reading it if it bothers you that much? Can you not just read the other 1000s of threads on mn instead?

MsSparkle · 21/11/2010 21:57

At least Katie got a break this week.... phew.

SuePurblybiltByElves · 21/11/2010 22:00

MsSparkle speaks sense. And usually the slagging is directed at things they can control - like woeful dancing, affected behaviour, horrible outfits, weird gurning and clag-nutting.

Katiekitty, I have no good name. BoF can save hers, as Royalty it's important.

cupcakesandbunting · 21/11/2010 22:01

Oh do toddle off, Lougle. It's not like we're being rude about Jesus. She's a sneering, aggressive roughneck who's put herself in the public arena. If she wants people to think of her favourably, she needs towork on her public image.

Lougle · 21/11/2010 22:01

MsSparkle I came on to enjoy a thread about the x-factor, was horrified to read a string of foul attacks and had two choices. Step away, or challenge. I was upset enough to challenge. We all have those choices, don't we?

MsSparkle · 21/11/2010 22:01

Moi? Speak sense? Never!

SuePurblybiltByElves · 21/11/2010 22:02

cupcakes, you are making me larf this weekend. Have you had Funny Flakes for breakfast?

"was horrified to read..."

Really? You were really horrified?

Sheesh.
