Starts this week in the US but airs here on Tuesday, 5th October 2010 at 10pm on sky 1. Will Olivia make it back from the other side??? Will it be any easier to understand?? Do we really care as long as Peter is featured prominently along with regular cow appearances which I felt were seriously lacking in the second half of season 2 Grin

The way I understood it Peter used the machine in 2012 and destroyed the other side to save his world.
Walternate crossed over to save his world but failed and got stuck on 'our' side.
FF 15 years and Peter and Olivia are married. Walter is in jail for starting the destruction of 'our' world. It seems that the destruction of the other side has caused imbalance, hence the appearance of vortexes etc. Our world is slowly breaking down.

Meanwhile Walternate is creating devices to speed up the end of our world to avenge his side. He kills Olivia to make Peter suffer.

Then Walter works out that the whole future mess (and Olivia's death) was caused by Peter chosing to destroy the other side at the end of last episode (in the present). Effectively the whole 'future' is Peter's vision- when Walter convinces him to re-think his decision he's sent back to the machine (the present) and realises O's death and the end of the world haven't happened yet.

He creates the bridge for both sides to work together and then. Disappears. Turns out he never really existed.
We then have to assume that Fauxlivia never had a baby? That the machine never worked in first place and couldn't have destroyed anything? That Walter never crossed over to save his son years back and thus triggered the chain of events that brought them where they are now? Big headache coming on.

Saying that I loved this episode. Seeing Walter swivel in the chair ang hug Olivia made me tear up. So did the look in Peter's eyes when he saw Olivia alive. I love Fringe.

Unless Peter was a creation of the watchers ('he served his purpose') and actually existed up til the point the bridge was built and then was wiped out of existence/everyone's memory.

As long as we see him again I don't care. I want Peter back!
