14yr dd - i've just found drugs in her room

ihatedrugs · 06/11/2018 13:13

I have just found 15 tablets hidden in dd's room. She had a party last weekend and one boy smuggled in ecstasy, and proceeded to hand it out like smarties. There was also weed, NOS balloons, alcohol and cigarettes. I'm presuming they have come from him, but can't be sure.

Never again!! I am gutted that this happened in my house and can't believe how many of dd's friends seem to partake in all this shit. They are only 14 ffs.

However, I have just had a look in dd's room and found these pills, which smell like weed tbh (but I don't know if weed comes in tablet form). Last time I snooped in her room and confronted her with something I found, she didn't come home for 4 days.

I feel sick and so, so scared of telling her I've looked again but after the party, and just her general behaviour, I felt I had to.

To all of you who think your dc would never do this shit, don't necessarily believe it! There were kids there who I would never have thought would.

I know I need to confront her but I feel sick Sad

Very much doubt they are illicit substances if no markings etc on them.

If they've been kept with cannabis the smell can easily permeate.

There are a couple of medications that smell like cannabis, but they aren't as you've described nor would she have any reason to want them.

madmum5811 · 06/11/2018 13:44

Is this a wind up, if not go to the police get every child interviewed, if it is a wind up you are either sick or a blogger/journo.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 06/11/2018 13:45

I’m sure I’ve read a very very familiar tale on here before about tablets with no markings so it might just be bollocks after all. Did like the big house and huge room stealth boast though.

NorthernRunner · 06/11/2018 13:45

brazzle I did wander if this was a made up scenario? 🤔
Part of me hopes it is, otherwise it’s really rather sad

Luckyme2 · 06/11/2018 13:46

Oh my goodness for my DD's 14th birthday I dropped 8 of them off in Nandos and then picked them up when they'd finished. A house party for 40 kids with alcohol and drugs at 14? How do you know there were girls rolling around on the floor off their faces? Did you see them? What did you do? Did you get them medical assistance? Tell their parents to come and collect them? 14 is so young for all of this!

If I remember correctly, there are companies where you can send pills to and have them tested for exactly this scenario.
Such companies are present at festivals for festival goers to have their purchases tested before they take them. So I'm sure you'll be able to get some answers.
TBH I cannot be arsed to Google it for you. I had every sympathy until you said there were 14 year olds under your roof completely 'off their faces' and you happily sent them home with parents being unaware.
My DD1 had a party for her 17th. One particular girl was particularly drunk so we contacted her mother. Didn't particularly help because said mother came, had a cup of tea and declared her daughter fine. Fortunately DD and her friends took care of her.
But 14? Really? You are either incredibly naive or criminally negligent.

yikesanotherbooboo · 06/11/2018 14:00

Poor you OP. I would frankly ask DD about the pills.15 seems a lot. They may or no may not be illicit/ for her own use. Either way you need to work out whether a crime has been committed and call the police if so. This applies to the boy handing drugs out like sweets to children in your care. If your daughters mental well being is at risk , seek extra help.
I work with young people and have had 3 teenagers of my own and this is not usual behaviour at only 14. My kids have been to many parties where parents have frisked them and confiscated alcohol at this age.Drunken or stoned children need to be taken home by their parents. Please don't minimise this scenario as acceptable it really isn't. These kids wee in your care.( I'm not naive , teens smoke weed/ take the odd pill/ drink alcohol on the sly etc but most of them don't do it in this blatant way)

BitOutOfPractice · 06/11/2018 14:03

So, out of interest, what did you do when you saw girls rolling around off their face?

BitOutOfPractice · 06/11/2018 14:03

And I agree, you saying "they're all doing it" is a. not true and b. sounds like an excuse

Kittykat93 · 06/11/2018 14:09

Sorry op but if true this is ridiculous.

You allowed 40 teenagers into your house who were all off their faces?

Apparently supervised and yet over twenty gas canisters and balloons were used, among other drugs and alcohol.

You weren't supervising. As for the pills, obviously confront your daughter.

ihatedrugs · 06/11/2018 14:10

I have a photo of the canisters and alcohol but don't know how to put them on mumsnet. They are on my phone.

This is not made up.

To add photos press the paper clip at the bottom of the page you use to reply on then when the cross appears press that then add the photo. If the pictures are on your phone and you post from your phone it should be simple.

starrynight19 · 06/11/2018 14:18

I have an almost 14 year old and a 16 year old and I disagree that ‘they are all doing this’.
If it’s true I am shocked that you allowed this to happen under your roof Hmm

BitOutOfPractice · 06/11/2018 14:19

So what did you do about this at the time? When you saw 14 yo kids off their faces and / or dealing drugs in your home?

I have to say that I think your DD is pretty involved in drugs if theseare the friends she's associating with.

I don't have much to offer in the way of advice but I think you need to get serioulsy more involved.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 06/11/2018 14:20

It’s VERY simple to post pictures (that exist) from your phone onto mumsnet.

MarshaBradyo · 06/11/2018 14:21

What did you do when you noticed they were high?

Sounds awful

ihatedrugs · 06/11/2018 14:22

How do u get the photos on to the message?

Could they be ketamine ? My friend just discovered white tablets in her 15 year old daughters room and she admitted to them being ketamine. The elder sister 19 actually told her Mum about it but to keep the peace and the lines of communication open between the daughters my friend pretended to discover them when cleaning.
They have grounded her, taken all devices/ WiFi and are taking her to an NA councillor who has kindly agreed to chat to her. Tough love is needed.

MarshaBradyo · 06/11/2018 14:24

How did you not notice they were smoking and drinking alcohol too? You need to take responsibility since it was in your house

ihatedrugs · 06/11/2018 14:25

These are the tablets I just found. I'm sniffing them and although as a group they stink, just one doesn't smell of anything. I think the pot may have had weed in tho.

oh so you didn’t bother stopping then from getting wasted on booze either then?

JellieEllie · 06/11/2018 14:27

The tablets look like paracetamol. I don't think they are anything illegal.
The canisters however are definitely nitrous oxide aka laughing gas and very dangerous.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 06/11/2018 14:29

They are paracetamol caplets.

The rest of it...well, you’re not going to winning any parenting awards are you? Seriously lax.
