I had gone out to clean my rabbit out and had done half when I went to her bed and noticed she had pulled some of her fur out and made a nest. I put my hand in the fur and came across a baby so I withdrew my hand quickly and closed the box and ushered mum back inside her hutch. I've fed and watered her as normal and put in some extra hay but I'm at a loss at what I do now. This was at about 1pm and I've left her to it but I'm concerned I've done some damage by disturbing her. Does anyone please have any experience or advice on what to do now?
Thank you.

Mum is doing really well. She's eating lots so her milk supply should be good. She is very relaxed but I can see she is constantly watching the nest and if anything walks close the the hutch she will nip in and stand guard next to her kits. I've given her some toys so she's not bored as she won't do much with the kits apart from feed them. It's amazing how they just pop them out and get on with it. I'm very proud of mum Smile

It was so sweet when ours started taking them out of the hutch with her- they'd run around the house (hitch and run was brought in from the garden when we found the babies) and she'd get them to run in a little line then gather them all to her if she thought there was danger.

We had a bit of trouble rehoming then as they all looked like the wild boy rabbit their mum had run off with, but we got there in the end.

Oh my goodness Mad that sounds so cute about the running or hopping in a line. I already have had interest in them and you can't even see them properly from the photos but mum is absolutely gorgeous. I'm keeping one so only 2/3 homes needed. Fingers crossed or I'll just keep them all Xmas Grin

4 days old now and I'm pretty positive there's actually 5 of them. Looking healthy and happily leaping around the nest blindly. Mum is perfect and doing a brilliant job.

Mybunnyisamummy · 04/12/2015 09:16

Sorry name changed because I thought it more appropriate and I'm so proud of my bunny.

MagpieCursedTea · 04/12/2015 09:21

Haha great name change!
What a gorgeous bunny she is, glad to hear the babies are still doing well.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 04/12/2015 09:27

Mum and babies are all stunning! Did you say you've brought then inside? Keep an eye on mum as she'll have a winter coat and could get too hot.

Congratulations! Marking place for more pictures of baby bunnies!

Lovely mummy bunny. Here's a picture of our two bunny girls having breakfast with us after they escaped for the night last week - definitely both girls (little bit wish they weren't right now though).

Mybunnyisamummy · 04/12/2015 13:04

Yeah I've fetched mum & babies in and I'm keeping the room cool so she doesn't get too hot.
The kits make me laugh when I uncover them as they sort of leap all around the nest and because their eyes aren't open yet they are just bumping into each other.
I'll get photos every other day and post them. Xmas Smile

ophiotaurus · 04/12/2015 13:20

MadHattersWineParty · 04/12/2015 16:24

Aw so sweet!! Glad to hear they're all doing so well! A little pre-Christmas miracle Xmas Grin

StrawberrytallCake · 04/12/2015 23:11

Mybunny can't wait to see more pics, how are they doing? Too windy outside tonight for baby bunnies!!

Mine look slightly menacing in that light but they are actually lovely Grin I would like to make them house rabbits at this point.

PotOfYoghurt · 04/12/2015 23:27

What is mama rabbit called?

LetThereBeCupcakes · 05/12/2015 06:54

Ok, we need a video of blind baby bunnies bumping into each other!

Mybunnyisamummy · 06/12/2015 08:16

Yes I'm so glad I bought them in as it's freezing here.
They are all fine and growing steadily.
Mama is called Rosie and whilst she is just a year old she is being a very good mum.
Better pictures today, enjoy Xmas Grin

gruffaloshmuffalo · 06/12/2015 08:22
