My mood is all over the place today. Bloody ridiculous really. Well done on your 6/7 weeks ponz.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 29/10/2017 17:21

Do you think your cravings for it have lessened after all this time Ponz? Mine are still bad, especially early evening time (about now actually).
I'm looking forward to surfing becoming easier.

I feel like that after a session Serial. I think I'm all better the following day but it affects me for a few days afterwards. Sorry for that nugget of gloom Grin You have a cold as well so you're allowed to be grumpy!

Have that crap back to school/ work tomorrow, end of half term feeling here.

Lost - just to be REALLY cheery, no in my experience the cravings don't lessen in intensity but they do in frequency. My theory is that with time we get better at ignoring the craving!.

Desperately want a fag right now! I'm so rubbish at giving things up!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 29/10/2017 18:24

Ok so hopefully I'll have finely honed coping strategies after 6 weeks! I suppose an improved mood will help as well

You're doing well with the fags Serial. It's so hard. I actually felt like I was going mad last time I tried to give up, I could hardly speak or cope with anything [drama queen]

Maybe try the vaping or a nicotine replacement? Hope it gets easier.

OP posts:
serialtester · 29/10/2017 18:58

I'm vaping. Like a hipster.

serialtester · 29/10/2017 19:02

My problem is (am in insightful post comedown mode) that I have a switch that tells my brain "let's get as fucked up as humanly possible" and it flips almost automatically. I need to get control of the switch.

HoochiMama · 29/10/2017 19:30

I have that switch too Serial, I absolutely love getting completely smashed. I wonder if we will still be like it when we're 70?? Mr Rehab gone, house cleaned and DS home. Feeling more normal and the hunger has began, have just demolished a bag of Jelly Babies Shock

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 29/10/2017 19:33

I think I've been cursed with that switch too. I can actually convince myself it's a good idea sometimes!

Loving the hipster vibe. Hope you're wearing an band t shirt ironically and have persuaded Mr. S to grow a small goatee.

OP posts:
ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 29/10/2017 19:36

I've been eating all day Hooch.
Good Lord, geriatric partying. I'll probably still be rabbitting on about trying to stay a month clean at 70. Grin

OP posts:
serialtester · 29/10/2017 20:23

That's my worry, that at 70 I'll still be acting like I'm Keith Richards.

Yes lost, I'm wearing ironic band t-shirts and I've grown a goatee!!

serialtester · 29/10/2017 20:24

Thinking about being a pensioner, do you reckon that you can pick up from a care home? #planningahead

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 29/10/2017 20:28

Is that what people mean when they say we should plan for old age? Grin
I think we should all go and live with Hooch and her cats.

OP posts:
serialtester · 29/10/2017 20:36

Do saga have recommended suppliers?!

CleaningLikeAMotherFucker · 29/10/2017 20:49

Thinking about being a pensioner, do you reckon that you can pick up from a care home?

Lol dh and I have had this chat before Shock

serialtester · 29/10/2017 21:54

I'm thinking of setting up a chain of care homes. Whisky bars, smoking lounges and reliable pick ups included in the fee.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 29/10/2017 22:10

Less Saga, more lager Grin It sounds quite appealing now. Is there a minimum age? I may book our surfers Christmas do there.

Club 40 - 70 lost. You can be a rep! (apologies if you're an under 40 baby - I'm not!)

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 29/10/2017 22:17

Aha you're so funny. Don't worry, I'm old enough to get in. Any surfers under 40 can borrow my ID.

Damn we're in our 30s Envy

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 29/10/2017 22:21

You can be resident DJ Cleaning.

I love a good chooon

#1 on the playlist will have to be the one and only White Liiiiiines

Goodnight all, I've got a silly smile on my face at the thought of this Halloween Smile

(I also volunteer to be resident cleaner, I'll thoroughly check all surface for dust Halloween Wink )

ponzusoup · 29/10/2017 22:35

I think we need to be silver surfers. Grin

You nutters. Love you all.

serialtester · 30/10/2017 21:56

In the silver surfers chain of homes every night is a Friday night! Put your catheter in the air like you just don't care.

Mood much improved today, however I keep dwelling on how great Friday was rather than the awfulness of Saturday.

ponzusoup · 30/10/2017 22:45

It’s great at the time serial or we wouldn’t keep doing it! But it’s linked to all kinds of cognitive disorders in later life...

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 31/10/2017 07:58

I'm an expert at ignoring rational thoughts on a Friday, which is probably my downfall. All these drugs have possibly impaired my judgment. Wink

Good point Ponz We don't want to be dribbling wrecks in old age. That would ruin our experience of the Alternative Care Home.
On that note, have a good week all. Aiming to keep our cognitive functions intact!
