Upward surfettes. Had a booze freer has done wonders for my mood ...

serialtester · 28/06/2017 18:22

I think regular use is like living a fictional life. The highs and lows are manufactured. I hate this word - but it's not authentic.

A shit day without Chemical help, or a great day, is real.

Let's keep it real me brethren!!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 28/06/2017 18:56

Wise words Bishop. After a quick browse on active, I think this is one of the sanest threads on mn ..Grin

I do worry that my brain is not wired up right. If I'm in a great mood a little demon on my shoulder is always there telling me how to multiply that feeling by 100. A shit day and I know how to turn that around with a phone call.
You're right though, I do have to remember it's artificial and that using up all the feel good stuff in my brain all at once equals a couple of dismal days after.

I shall strive for overall contentment over exhilarating high. It's fucking hard to change the mindset though!
I've had a long stress filled day, I'm missing the heatwave and craving like a mo'fo tonight.

serialtester · 28/06/2017 20:27

I miss the heatwave too!!

Taking coke is like going into your feel good overdraft. You have to pay it back at some point.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 28/06/2017 20:36

Or risk going completely bankrupt Grin

OP posts:
ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 28/06/2017 20:38

You're being very profound today Serial are you stoned? Grin
Joking! I love your wise spin on things.

OP posts:
serialtester · 28/06/2017 20:55

God, I'd love to be stoned! I've had antihistamines - maybe that's the secret?!

serialtester · 28/06/2017 20:56

I am not at all wise - may I mention the oven dish!!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 28/06/2017 21:08

Antihistamines? You do make me laugh.
Yes your Yoda halo slips occasionally. You're only human! Don't worry we've all forgotten about the Oven dish episode Hmm

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 28/06/2017 21:12

I'm going to have a really hot bath and pretend there's a heatwave. I haven't made a phone call tonight so I think I'm over the worst of the pesky cravings.

OP posts:
serialtester · 28/06/2017 21:40

Yes, bath and go to bed. Get yer Jim jams on and sleep. One craving at a time lost!!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 28/06/2017 21:58

I'm patting my pyjamared back for dodging the midweek maelstrom.Wink

ponzusoup · 29/06/2017 10:59

Well done lost. I splashed last night one small one before meeting a friend as was 'tired'. I've got one left in the shoe. I really really need to stop buying.

serialtester · 29/06/2017 18:37

A small line is more of a splish than a splosh. At least you stopped at 1 ponz.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 29/06/2017 19:33

I can always reason with myself and convince myself it's a good idea Ponz. The "tired" reason rings a bell! It's been my justification on many an occasion. What are we like eh?
I can totally understand you dabbling if the shoe is stocked, so to speak.
It's so simple in theory to just stop buying it but so difficult in practice.

Don't be too down on yourself though. I think you've pulled back lately on that and our old friend the booze.

Have a good evening all x

OP posts:
serialtester · 29/06/2017 20:32

If only I could reason with myself to do stuff like ironing and dusting!

DustyDuck · 29/06/2017 21:42

Ponz I am full of admiration- you have the will power to stop at one! I would be thinking up reasons to have another, and after that I wouldn't need any...

DustyDuck · 29/06/2017 21:42

...any reasons, I'd just go for it! So we'll done on your restrained shoe-dipping

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 30/06/2017 19:06

Evening all. Welcome to The Danger Zone.
How are we all getting on?
Have cravings on my mind tonight but trying to ignore my brain/ drown it with Stella. Keeping it classy here Grin

(I tried to reason with myself Serial and convince myself I like ironing but it didn't work Wink)

OP posts:
DustyDuck · 30/06/2017 21:15

I may have had a small one but planning to stop there... have to be up early so can't be silly

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 30/06/2017 21:26

Hope that strategy works Dusty! You need to locate your balls of steel to pull this off. Try not to press the Fuck It switch.x
Bit pissed, disillusioned and tired here. It's a triple trigger combo Confused

OP posts:
ponzusoup · 30/06/2017 21:30

I've been out at a work leaving do. Bit French. Heading home and trying to avoid the shoe.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 30/06/2017 22:13

Bon nuit Ponz Try not to Converse with your shoe... Hmm
Pyjamarate forthwith.

OP posts:
DustyDuck · 30/06/2017 23:32

One, two, buckle my shoe
Goodnight all

HoochiMama · 01/07/2017 00:10

Sploshed I'm afraid Confused Think it was inevitable after my failed attempt last week. Mr BI did get back to me in the end but I made sure I drove tonight so I wasn't trapped. Home safe and sound and going to bed, I am so not gonna sleep.... Well done Surfettes and for just dipping your toe Dusty Smile
