mac eyebrow pencils made me cross because they kept breaking (was using the propelling kind) so lasted approx. 1 week

dirty blonde sounds like the right kind of colour though, I hate it when they go all red

I probably just need to accept that I am going to have to sharpen not twist then my eyebrow pencil world will open up

Ronaldinhio · 15/05/2010 16:43

nope I like the pencil better tbh
can't get on with benefit at all but love lm secret concealer

aquavit · 15/05/2010 16:44

shadow not a go for me wat, I have such very very fine brows (how precious!) and cannot manage to apply shadow between the lines as it were

I like the colours in the Chanel compact though

AuntieMaggie · 15/05/2010 16:46

has anyone tried dior eyeshadow? i was gushing over one of their sets today

ShadeofViolet · 15/05/2010 16:48

I am a fan of Benefit EyeBright, but I agree a lot of it is middle quality stuff but £££.

I am in love with my Beauty Flash Balm. I also think the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara is a great mascara but not that great at lifting.

Fab thread! Right, I Love....

*Vitalumiere for day and Pro Lumiere for night.
*LM does a really good mineral lose powder and their sparkle dust is amazing.
*Nars do a brilliant bronzer which goes a long way.
*I know there is a lot of benefit bashing going on but I have the new sugar bomb blusher and it is really good, as is their stay don't stray eye base.
*BB for gel eye liners, especially the metallics with a bit of glitter in them!
*Mac for eye shadows but also Ruby and Millie are quite good too and high colour pigment in them.
*BB do some lovely lipsticks with shea butter in which I find are great for my dry lips, the new Chanel Rouge range is very good also.
*Lancome do an amazing fake tan - flash bronzer which doesn't streak and the smell is not too bad either.
*No.7 do some really good eye liners with smudgers which blend very well (also have a great purple limited edition at the mo. which is lovely!)

  • Diorshow is ok, I got talked into buying their latest extase one which is not as good imho but also really like GOSH mascara.
  • Have brushes by lots of people but my favourites would have to be LM, BB and benefit slanted blusher brush.

Think I best stop there!

I love threading too, I also have my eyelashes permed every three months as I have quite small eyes and long lashes. It makes a big difference.

MamaG · 15/05/2010 17:35

WHY does everybody hate benefit?

their lip glosses rock

ShadeofViolet · 15/05/2010 17:37

I think its a quality vs price thing. You can get similar quality cheaper.

Though they do have a few really good products.

NormaSnorks · 15/05/2010 17:46

ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE

Have very short blonde eyelashes, so need thickening type mascara

Have always used the L'Oreal stuff where you put a white thickener on first - works wonders- and then the lash thickening mascara.
However they now seem to only do it in Black, and I need brown or blue (black is too heavy).

I also prefer waterproof mascara, or something that really doesn't smudge, as otherwise I always seem to end up like a panda by the end of the day.

Any personal recommendations?

Why never blue? (Although confess I don't ever wear blue... it's just definitely not black...)

I was going to ask about that blinc mascara... I bought the trial size the other day after reading about it on here and it's very good while it's on, but I could swear it took half my eyelashes with it when I removed it like they said you should (lots of water and gentle pressure). It was a bit worrying and I haven't dared try since in case I lose more!

didn't that happen to anyone else? Am I removing it in the wrong way?

traceybath · 15/05/2010 18:09

ok - Just tried on new topshop eye crayon and its fab.

Subtle glitter but glides on - far superior to £££ nars one.

And this lip treatment feels fab on and I have dry lips.

MamaG · 15/05/2010 18:10

tracybath thats a funny eyecrayon

please link properly as i LOVE eyecrayons

traceybath · 15/05/2010 18:12

oops

Bumperliouzzzzzz · 15/05/2010 18:12

Trying to wean myself off Benefit, but some of their stuff is lovely. However my Dandelion blush is running out and I feel I need to branch out. Any recommendations?

Am actually a bit of a Clinque convert, I use their Almost Makeup tinted moisturiser and their high impact is the only mascara I will ever wear. Can't stand the panda eyes from normal mascara, and this stuff just comes off with water and doesn't smudge. Can be a little flakey so perhaps wouldn't wear with contacts.

For concealer I love Bare Minerals Well Rested Powder.

MamaG · 15/05/2010 18:14

i like the look of the eye crayon
is it very BLUE that one~?

I looked for a greeny one but couldnt see one
