The Benefit mascara is rubbish, great brush but the mascara made me have panda eyes, it smudged everywhere - the £1.99 Boots Natural Collection one is far better and a fraction of the price.

I love Clinique skin care but i'm never too excited about their make up although the mascaras are ok. I had a free makeover done on the counter once - never again, I had purple AND green eye shadow put on me at once, and take it from me that's not a good look

Mineral powder foundation, most brands do their own version. It's a powder foundation ( made of minerals, obviously ) that you buff into your face using a brush. Many people rate it. I find makes my skin even oilier. But I like the cheaper versions like Maybelline, cos I think they add extra crap into it, so not so natural, but better on my skin - ie doesn't slide off.

janeite · 15/05/2010 16:15

Mixing a dot of foundation with Beauty Flash balm works really well to give a bit of coverage and a bit of glow and feels really light.

WhatsAllThisThen · 15/05/2010 16:16

actually that benefit pencil that is kind of flesh colour (goes just under brows) is v good. Bobbi Brown corrector under eyes good.

GOSH (Superdrug brand) does surprisingly good eye pencil.

WhatsAllThisThen · 15/05/2010 16:16

Beauty flash balm best product EVER.

Have just st Tropez'd my face and shaved my legs.....summer is here even if the sun has made an appearance yet..

Love MAC soft eye pencil in navy...smudges and stays on...

noddyholder · 15/05/2010 16:24

I bought VL no good too glossy shiny so bought a cheap dark tinted moisturiser in boots and mix looks like lovely glowy tan and lasts all day.bad Gal Lashes still my fave esp if like me you sometimes wear only mascara.Bought a bourjois coral lipstick very flattering if you don't over do it.get a nude lipliner and outline lips quite heavily with it then put on some vaseline and rub lips together until the 2 blend and the liner line is no longer visible(otherwise look like jordan)its really glam looking but still natural.

aquavit · 15/05/2010 16:28

I am very envious of all of you with your hairy brows needing threading and the like

I have to draw mine in just so I don't look like a potato

it is very wearing

and I could do with some recs for brow pencils as I am bored with my clinique one and it fades by the end of the day .. anyone know of any that are not gingery and are v fine but last well?

Bonsoir · 15/05/2010 16:29

Am very happy with new Benefit eyebrow pencil - very soft, with a good brush at the other end. Benefit eyebrow products are excellent.

Finbar · 15/05/2010 16:34

any theories as to why my MAC eye pencil has gone as hard as stone? is not that old. Others are fine

aquavit · 15/05/2010 16:36

thanks Bonsoir, I will give it a go (and will vow to sharpen it often)

SuSylvester · 15/05/2010 16:37

haev you sharpened finny? ( ps what time tonight for lift)

OP posts:
aquavit · 15/05/2010 16:37

don't know why Finbar but you could try warming it up before application by rubbing it between your hands

you may even discover fire that way

SuSylvester · 15/05/2010 16:38
