Oh no - don't do benefit - too £££ for superdrug quality.

Definitely St Tropez for fake tan - I can't be doing with the gradual stuff too much faff - just do the proper stuff a couple of times a week.

Oh and Dior Show mascara is the best mascara ever.

Had eyebrows threaded earlier - blink brow bar in Harvey Nichols - fabulous.

Don't get your eyebrows threaded in one of those shopping mall stalls when you're killing time before a funeral. Or in fact any other public gathering. Your remaining brows will be fetchingly highlighted with bright red skin. But yes, it is really effective.

benefit - I've tried to use that Erase Paste stuff and it is quite good, but so thick it just sort of sits in my wrinkles.

SuSylvester · 15/05/2010 15:56

yes to dior show and smells nice too
REALLy re threading?
have not vair big brows

eh hello can I please interlope?

recommendation: Fake Bake fake tan in Fair - I am a sort of pale bluey purple colour (from a part of Ireland where the sun doesn't actually shine, ever) and it looks ok on me.

can I ask for foundation recommendations
for aforementioned whiter than white skin? Most foundations turn yellow so has to be pinky shade. Recently been using Nars Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc which is nice colourwise but my skin seems to have suddenly realised that it is over 40 and gone all dry and papery. So the foundation sits on top of it in patches in a remarkably unattractive fashion.

Have tried all the classic ones but a lot of them seem no better than the stuff you get in Boots so I wonder if they are overpriced shite? I have, when skint, used the Rimmel hangover one which actually looks quite dewy on.

I need something that makes my face not look like ancient papyrus

oh and what about primer? are they any good?

traceybath · 15/05/2010 15:58

Threading is wonderful - the lady who does it in HN in Bristol is wonderful.

Takes about 3 mins and does not hurt at all and no redness after.

She then does a little massage and combs and gels them and you get a little loyalty card so 10th one free.

How many times can I say wonderful

Msboogie - have you tried chanel vitalumiere - I'm pale with dry skin and love it.

Bonsoir · 15/05/2010 16:00

Is this a make-up thread or a combined make-up and skin care thread? Because anyone going to France this summer must buy the Bioderma Crealine Eau Micellaire cleanser. A diamond among cleansers, I swear.

I spend my life working out how to make my brows bigger and stronger - Benefit, Benefit and Benefit. No waxing/threading/plucking here.

And, on this subject, has anyone else noticed that SamCam's eyebrows, which were a tadpole fright (almost as bad as Tamara Mellon's) have recently been sorted and look fabulous?

WhatsAllThisThen · 15/05/2010 16:03

agree w/ whoever said Benefit sooo not worth the money

tis faddy.

if tempted by cute packaging say 3 hail maries and get bobbi brown or lancome instead.

SuSylvester · 15/05/2010 16:03

i have never tried threading.

Bonsoir · 15/05/2010 16:04

Oh I disagree - I love Benefit. Bobbi Brown is OK too, but I hate Lancome - so, so boring.

DavidHameron · 15/05/2010 16:04

Oh well cleansers...

Do not spend money on expensive ones: buy Boots botanicals fruit acid one: I swear my skin is clearer and less blemished and grey in about a month's use...

Hang on, will run upstairs to look at proper title (use it in the shower)

msboogie · 15/05/2010 16:04

have tried Vitalumiere thanks, can't remember now why I didn't go back to it.

what I wd really like is something halfway between foundation and tinted moisturiser.
