what's this new nail film of colour thing please?

AuntieMaggie · 17/05/2010 13:13

I am getting seriously hacked off with my skin

I've tried several tinted moisturisers but I need a touch more coverage than that, and every foundation I've found seems to sit in my pores apart from double wear light but I don't want to wear that every day!

Anyone got any tips for being all cool int he morning and applying the perfect face?

I bath in the morning at the moment (as our shower is broken) then moisturise and dry my hair, and then I do my make up at work because I'm often too warm to do it at home.

eshermummy the Soap & Glory Bright Here, Bright now stuff gives you a nice glow, like the High Beam stuff. You put it on under your foundation/powder and it gives a really nice base as well.

scratchmyback · 17/05/2010 13:42

I am going to try minx nails, I think it would be good for holidays if it lasts 2 weeks without coming off. Wonder if it lasts if I am in the pool etc.

Threading - not sure if i am brave enough to go for it, really want it done though.

msboogie · 17/05/2010 14:20

wow the minx nails look fab!

I have had threading done - it didn't hurt much at all

fishie · 17/05/2010 14:22

esher you need meteorites pearls they are lovely and i didn't write that review.

i've got travel powder as i always break pressed things.

scratchmyback · 17/05/2010 14:25

I also need a good bonze - any suggestions? I have got the Bobbi Brown bronzing block but dont like it. It looks too matte on my face, like its been caked on.

roary · 17/05/2010 14:42

Probably too late for this now but I have the Clinique anti-brown spot stuff, www.clinique.co.uk/product/1693/6885/Skin-Care/Uneven-Skin-Tone/NEW-Even-Better-Skin-Tone-Correcting -Moisturizer-SPF-20/index.tmpl and it is brilliant. It actually NOTICEABLY works, my DH can tell the difference and this is the man who once responded to a dramatic hair colour change with "is that a new jumper?"

Sparkletastic · 17/05/2010 16:02

Ref the chubby pencils - don't have any eyeshadow ones but Barry M ones from Superdrug are good for the smudgy eyeliner but not quite smoky eye look. Have a black and silver one that is good for nights out.

SuSylvester · 17/05/2010 16:04

blue

roary · 17/05/2010 16:14

I have to say that dark brown eyes can be made to pop with a purple shadow but it depends on the shade. MAC has some gorgeous pinky purples that will do the job. But so too, if you want a dramatic colour, a pink or red, which brown eyes can wear without looking like an albino.

Su, you betcha. It's great stuff. I'm keen to try their other product (the 'even better' one) as well. I am very in to the makeup-y part of cosmetics and not so much the lotions and potions so it's rare that I rave so much about a lotion!

bottled it at the MAC counter, but chose a blush ' melba' and lpstick in ' blankety'

looked at the 'beautiful iris'shadow, but thought it was a bit too light

MELBA

BLANKETY
