yes, me sparkletastic! do you wear it over or under moisturiser?

Sparkletastic · 16/05/2010 17:41

Hi WhatsAllThisThen - I wear it over a light moisturiser as can't bear not putting moisturiser on as soon as I've cleansed - but do apply L'Oreal stuff 10 mins or so after so all absorbed. Is v good - wouldn't be without it now.

WhatsAllThisThen · 16/05/2010 17:42

ooh thank you!!

itsmeitsmeolord · 16/05/2010 18:46

Hi,

I need;

  1. A grey eyeliner - dark/light is fine.
  1. A light reflector type thing for under my eyes that doen't sit in the lines there.
  1. A cream blusher in rosy/pink tones that is actually cream and not weirdy mousse or gel.

Can recommend the Barbara Daly concealer, much better than any others I've tried and v cheap. Stays put all day on my oily skin.

Mosturiser - I am using the neals yard new berries day cream thingy and the frankinncense healing cream for night. Have been gettig lots of compliments after using those.
Still looking for a miracle pore minimiser thing though.....

SuSylvester · 16/05/2010 18:52

A grey eyeliner - dark/light is fine. - no7 for economy bu the estee lauder one in graphite is best

  1. A light reflector type thing for under my eyes that doen't sit in the lines there. - go to Bb counter ? this

no idea what this clinique cream blush is like am still mourning mac one

OP posts:
itsmeitsmeolord · 16/05/2010 19:03

I like the look of the BB blush. The clinique one is cream to powder so wouldn't look good onme. For some reason powders just look shit on my skin.

I'm off to Debenhams tomorrow so will spend copious amounts of time on th BB counter and report back.

Many thanks.

fishie · 16/05/2010 19:06

i must be paler than you su, all those blushers are too dark for me. have you seen anything else nice in pink which is too weak for you? actually i must be loads paler as fake tan is not an option.

i have been buying a lot of makeup lately. i have gone a bit older in the face.

WhatsAllThisThen · 16/05/2010 19:11

BB blush v good. Corrector too.

I apply blush with a foundation brush otherwise I find it difficult to blend.

WhatsAllThisThen · 16/05/2010 19:13

fishie i use bb cream blush in powder pink and I am pale. pale pink may be even better? or benefit dandelion is a barely-there pink.

herjazz · 16/05/2010 19:17

fishie - I used to like them ruby and millie blusher sticks. They come out much subtler than they look - bit of a sheen to em

Now I'm looking very 'tired' all the time I want something a bit more aunt sally. I bought a No 7 one but its rubbish. Thanks su am going to try nars one

SuSylvester · 16/05/2010 19:26

yes i am darkish. imagien ricki lake and there you are ( thanks kids)
but even so they reccyed a MUCH darker one than i would have gone for

I still love guerlain meteorites the pink ones and the bronze.I use on eyelids too as don't do eyeshadow at all and it really opens my eyes.Mac do a peachy/cream eyeliner which is great for looking awake I bought in London and lost it before I even got it home didn't have it in brighton,

eshermummy · 16/05/2010 21:03

Can I join you make-up afficionados please?

Don't know if you lot are fans but I like a shiny dewy skin finish, no powder, ideally a bit shimmery but not disco -glitter all over my face obv.

Bought this with Boots £5 vouchers - I like but feel it is prob a rip-off of another more ££££ product but which one? This one is fine and good value for every day but would splash out on the dog's product for "best"

Also, does anyone still make those chubby eye pencils that are like a eyeliner/eyeshadow hybrid. I want light, pearly colours please?

SuSylvester · 16/05/2010 21:29

Hiesh. On phone so matybecrap. Ok firstly you can get the sheen from just your foundation I e. The vita lumiere Chanel do orthe Lancome equiv. If you like your existingfoudation rhen I once has a great Clinique thing like the no. 7. One. Will google in Amin.

eshermummy · 16/05/2010 21:45

Ta Su - normally use Laura Mercier Nude or Chantecaille tinted moisturiser for everyday - not a massive fan of proper foundation for everyday although have a muchos £££ Chantecaille (Future Skin?) one for nights out.
So really want something like the No7 illuminator that can be applied over top/under in a single layer i.e. not that Highbeam stuff that is only for bones iykwim.

Then I like to use NARS Orgasm on cheeks. You got any other NARS colours? I was thinking maybe a more bronzey one for summer but the only time I ever branched out to a diff shade than Orgasm it was like the formulation was different and not as shimmery and harder to blend.

May investigate the vita-lumiere but am a shimmer junkie so it may not be enough

janeite · 16/05/2010 21:53

Esher - is it Moonbeam or something of that ilk maybe?

scratchmyback · 16/05/2010 21:56

oooh just seen this and I neeeeeeed to join the thread!

Has anyone tried Clinique up lighting illuminator? I heard some fab things about it but haven't tried it yet.

I am almost out of everything at the moment and need to go shopping. I had Bobbi Brown foundation and it was crap. Tried vilutamier but its a bit greasy for me. Quite like MAC.

The smashbox primer leaves a horrible greasy film on your face I think.

Also I really want my eyebrows threaded, how much does it really hurt?

Have any of you tried that new nail thingy where they stick a colour on to your nails (like a film of colour)? Its supposed to be great.

SuSylvester · 16/05/2010 21:58

Have the nuxe prodigeouse oil forbirthday. Can't reportback yet. Mightbe good. Go get a vl sample. Ask at counter about blush mebbe hard to day without seeing you

OP posts:
SuSylvester · 16/05/2010 22:01

Scratchy nails thong called mincing afaik
no idea. Don't do primers
apart from a cool Dermalogica one skin tightening or somecsuch i was sent when doing beauty on here I still use it and like it.

OP posts:
eshermummy · 16/05/2010 22:04

Ta, will investigate the clinique one.
Think the Moonbeam may be too much for all over usage.

Chubby eyeshadow pencils anyone?

HousewifeOfOrangeCounty · 16/05/2010 22:06

Make up guru's can you suggest a good everyday mascara?

I've tried most high street brands as I've always thought that paying for 'proper' mascara was a waste of money, but now I'm not so sure.

Btw I keep saying I'll try the VL, but have been using Bare Minerals foundation powder and loving it. Especially good for this time of year when I'm starting to want tinted moisteriser rather than full on foundations.

Have also recently bought the Aldi touche eclat stuff, having run out of my YSL and everyone who says it's good must be mad. Back to YSL for me.

MD solutions cleanser following an alpha beta peel is making my skin look fab including my dreadful pores.
