Following on from here

Surely the sun will be out by the end of this thread?

Hi everyone, been awol, I know but did manage to order the cream Kew bag. Someone, hells, I think, saw it in rl. Still waiting but will post verdict when it arrives.

I linked to these wedges a few weeks ago, not on this thread, and they were not popular to say the least!

are they that bad?

OllieWollieWoo · 09/03/2010 13:45

Hello all - lovely recipies - now I need to hunt down some ground almonds - not sold in supermarkets over here - suppose I could ground some myself.........

Was in Primark this morning (en route to zoo - DS2 v obliging even tho its a 10 min detour by road, then shopping time etc). Didn't buy anything but they had a goodísh selection of canvas bags for you LTEC. Can reember a jaunty nautical navy stripe one, a red one and cream based one and sure there were others. Was v pleased re not buying anything as a month ago I would have but under the guidance of this thread am only buying stuff I really, really like. Now back to drooling over Blossomings DVF dress - link didnt work agin earlier - I am seriously considering it tho!

cahu · 09/03/2010 13:46

wrong link here they are

hellsbelles · 09/03/2010 13:47

cahu nice to have you back - I didn't actually get to see that particular one you linked to (it wasn't in the shop) - but the ones I did see were very soft leather so that was a good indicator! Looking forward to the RL verdict!

I'm not keen on the shoes...but my taste in shoes is dodgy to say the least so my opinion (in this instance ) means nothing!

hellsbelles · 09/03/2010 13:48

cahu - still not sure...they look a bit too bubblegum.

notyummy · 09/03/2010 13:49

Wedges are a bit too ....ermmm.... Jordanesque IMHO

carciofi · 09/03/2010 13:50

Thanks for the recipe, LTEC and, thanks for thinking of me about the scarf! Shame it has sold out.

Cahu, I like the shoes (the second pair). What would you wear them with?

carciofi · 09/03/2010 13:52

Cahu, I prefer the shoes in black tbh.

LetThemEatCake · 09/03/2010 13:54

just back from off loading a bunch of stuff at the charity shop where I picked up a canvas bag!!!

It is fully lined in orange (loving orange) has a full zip closure (bugger off thieves) is in a giraffe print (jungle/ tribal is sooo SS10) and can be worn over shoulder (comfy and convenient)

And was ONE POUND!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up on Primark OWW - will check it out for something more neutral too.

Hello again Cahu!! nice to see you .. but I don't like those pink & black shoes, sorry

cahu · 09/03/2010 13:55

Hi hells, I have pretty conservative taste in shoes and am not sure whether these are straying into footglove territory!!!

notyummy · 09/03/2010 13:56

Prefer second pair Cahu!

LetThemEatCake · 09/03/2010 14:04

oh sorry have just seen second link. They are nicer, but still not nice enough for you, Cahu love

cahu · 09/03/2010 14:07

Is wearing fierce shoes the easiest way to not look muttony, just on trend, iyswim? My big fear is mutton, not as big as mumsy though.

carciofi would prob just wear with straight leg jeans as Summer alternative to flats for day.

hellsbelles · 09/03/2010 14:08

LTEC - is DS2 better?

Romanarama · 09/03/2010 14:11

OWW you can get ground almonds in Delhaize in Belgium btw.

I am just back from loading up on tees for layering in H&M. Also bought an oversized stripey t and a stripey scarf, and an optical print minidress, and 3 boyfriend cardis in nude, light grey (black substitute as have golden retriever) and dark tan to encourage me to wear my own overpriced pull on brown suede boots . Not exactly careful shopping but the whole shebang was only 160 euros and got lots of bits that I was missing from my wardrobe so am pleased.

Cahu I think those shoes look like the M&S 'trendy' section. My mum might say 'they're rather fun'

Romanarama · 09/03/2010 14:13

(btw, DS2 woke up bright as a button after 14 hours sleep, and went to school, in case you're thinking I dragged my sick 5yo to H&M or left him at home with the dog )

cahu · 09/03/2010 14:14

LTEC

notyummy how to link to something which, now you mention it, is very Jordanesque!

cahu · 09/03/2010 14:20

Roman thank you, that was the final nail in the coffin!! Have been considering the Hasbeens, but dd1 rather put me off them...

LetThemEatCake · 09/03/2010 14:22

aw, thanks for asking hells. He's covered in an awful rash, head to foot. Took him to the doc this morning and she said "could be rubella, could be allergic reaction, could be this, could be that ..." and then basically got on the net and did some internet diagnosis which I could've done myself. I came away with no answers, no prescription

am giving him baths every few hours with a muslin bag of oats in the water, smothering him in epiderm and giving him belladonna to try and get rid of the (admittedly slight) temperature.

He's in very good spirits so I'm not too worried ... looks awful though. Poor lad.

How are all the other poorly dcs?

hellsbelles · 09/03/2010 14:29

oh poor little chap but what a relief that he's in good spirits which suggests allergic reaction rather than bug doesn't it?

Did you eat anything new (you are still BF'ing aren't you?)....I never remember how long what you eat takes to pass through to BM. Whenever I had chocolate DD would fart uncontrollably (and uncomfortably for her)! So I had to stop while I BF!

Fleecy · 09/03/2010 14:48

Argh! I didn't make the concert this morning so poor mum has had to sing to a backing CD I have whatever bug DD had yesterday.

Wrapped up under blankets on the sofa. Luckily DS both napping at the moment.

We have another concert in another couple of weeks though but we're playing for a fund-raising dinner so it's a bit more of a biggie. hells I'll be wearing a peacock feather print dress with patent peep toes - my mum picked it out as the most suitable thing from my wardrobe. She wears full evening dress but it's a bit much for me hiding behind the piano!

I have ordered the Harry Eastman book from the library and am waiting for it to arrive.

Plum do you have a shopping update for us yet?

Fleecy · 09/03/2010 15:11

hells nightmare giving up chocolate

What do you ladies think of these?

I'm thinking they'd look nice with rolled up jeans and a white or navy vest?

LetThemEatCake · 09/03/2010 15:11

oh Fleecy you poor thing!! Love the sound of the peacock feather print dress. Hope you feel better soon

sorry hells - it's ds1 (the 2yo) has the rash. No bfing there. Baby L (who is bfing) is absolutely fine. Bit of a snuffle but fine.

cahu look at the Kurt Geiger website, lots of lovely summer shoes there.

finding myself strangely drawn to these

and this is rather good as a Rats top, no??

delivery!!! back later ...

OllieWollieWoo · 09/03/2010 15:28

LTEC forgot to answer your QOTW! I am a sucker for lovely stationary especially notebooks (that I never seem to fill) and storage - you know, lovely boxes to put old photos in, fancy lever arch/box files - I come over all funy in Paperchase! I also love buying photoframes - but mostly for presents now as DH hates cluttered surfaces and has banned me from introducing anymore to the house (got round this tho by putting up a square made up of different sized frames on a bare wall!) Also seem to spend a lot on books. Just finished that Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Society for my Book Club and loved it.

LetThemEatCake · 09/03/2010 15:29

gosh, bargain fleecy!!

these just arrived and are staying. I tested them by running up and down the stairs holding the baby. Comfortable and secure , just leg-lengthening enough. Result!!

chilly day Rats top - mi piace!!
