Surely the sun will be out by the end of this thread?

Thanks Ladies.
I like it but not enough to pay £85 for it.

PlumSykes · 08/03/2010 18:20

GW, Figleaves have this Splendid waterfall cardi in navy here, and they have free del and returns until end of today. There is prob a code for a discount knocking around too, if you google it.

Romanarama · 08/03/2010 18:41

pmsl blossoming

Yes in my short wheat-free period my psoriasis (only on my scalp fortunately) and my spots also disappeared. When I write that down I wonder why I don't do it all the time?? OK, I'm starting now. There's really no reason I can think of not to, apart from the fact I like croissants a lot, but that shouldn't be a deal breaker.

(the dog food that arrived instead of the Anglomania was a carb-free variety as it happens, which I ordered because my golden retriever has dandruff!)

I'm getting the Choos. I reckon at price-per-wear they will be a massive bargain.

hellsbelles · 08/03/2010 18:52

evening all - DD still poorly and grumpy but it's not ears or throat so just have to live with it until it goes (i.e. no magical antibiotics).

LTEC- I will go against the general view and say she did do it on purpose and with the intent of annoying you. She is a mammoth bitch if you would like my opinion. But that helps not one jot I suppose. You can't really do anything about it so just know you are behaving the better person by rising gracefully and stylishly above her bating

Romanarama · 08/03/2010 18:54

DS2 has a fever. Bang go all my plans for tomorrow.

hellsbelles · 08/03/2010 19:03

oh Roman - poor you. We can do internet shopping t/m (I'll be stuck at home too) to cheer ourselves up! And at least you'll be in to take delivery of the gorgeous choos!

Romanarama · 08/03/2010 19:06

I meant 'poor ds2' of course

blossoming · 08/03/2010 19:26

I think the choos would be great value for
money.
I noticed that lkbennet are doing lookalikeys this season but they are so damn uncomfortable you'ld probably only wear them the once.
I find choos, in the right size, supremely comfortable.

Romanarama · 08/03/2010 19:28

I am a Choo virgin, but have just emailed net-a-porter and asked whether they will 'add' them to my order without charging another 19 pounds postage (I live in Belgium).

I ordered a 39.5 as am sometimes 39 and sometimes 40. I agree that posh shoes are more comfy, particularly heels. Do others have that experience?

My dream is some Manolos! One day!

hellsbelles · 08/03/2010 19:52

Roman i have some (sale) choos. And I think they size them very small. I do have quite wide feet but I'm normally a 39 and had to get a 40. So you are wise to go up a bit in size. I guess it depends on the style.

I too have convinced myself that the more expensive shoes are more comfortable however footglove are the most comfortable of all (don't worry I don't have any now...they are also fecking ugly)

monkeysmama · 08/03/2010 20:02

Good evening

I love the Choos Roman - good investment.

LTEC your post made me laugh mainly because of your screen name. I think it's unpleasant. Indeed I am a little bit impressed with her underhandedness. But it's a sore point for me. My pil bring those mini egg things for dd & say "we know she doesn't have them but we thought we'd just get them anyway". Mmmm, why? The best was the chocolate advent calendar which they then went crazy about because she hadn't eaten the chocolate. I had a brief fantasy about letting dd (21mo) eat 20 days worth of rank advent chocs and then leaving her with them for a few hours.

I am feeling a bit guilty. It is dp's birthday on Sunday and I was buying his presents on line. I knew one of the things he wanted would be available on ASOS. So I ordered it, and then this (let's see if polyester is the way to go ), this, this in navy, this in watermelon, this, [http://www.asos.com/Gap/Gap-Tailored-Slim-Chino-Trouser/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=970584&cid=2640&Rf -400=12279&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Beige these]], this, these in a colour I've never worn and these. I am very ashamed even writing it all down. I think the cream trousers will definitely go back but I do kind of need all the other things. Sort of.

Hells I like your dress and shoes.

Blossoming which DVF is it? Can one of us try and link instead?

Right, dp isn't home yet but a nice stew is waiting and I opened the red wine to put some in the food so it'd be rude not to have a glass while I wait so off to pour myself one.

bunnymother · 08/03/2010 20:07

Oh dear poor sweetie has a tummy bug. Have been thrown up on and hit w vile nappy contents. So may also be trapped at home tomorrow. He he he - babysitter coming so am considering scampering once she arrives. Nice mummy.

I plan on getting Choos, too. My grandma swore that cheap shoes were what created the disasters formerly known as toes at the end of her feet. Awful awful awful.

Cakey - your MIL was being a rude cow. You can get wheat free desserts. And, frankly, she should have. I am mostly wheat and dairy free. Not wholly, but mostly, and notice a diff both re my digestion and weight. Still, she can ruminate on her rudeness when you spend 24 hours flying away from her at the end of this year.

traceybath · 08/03/2010 20:23

MM - love those cream trousers.

But send all the gap stuff back - its 30% off from thursday in store for 4 days with the VIP voucher.

Hells, Roman & Bunny - hope dc's better soon.

I tell you once mine are all out of nappies I am never ever changing another nappy ever. I will be the granny who passes baby back to mummy to be changed .

monkeysmama · 08/03/2010 20:34

I thought of you when I ordered them Tracey. I don't think I can do white trousers just yet.

I forgot about the Gap thing - where do you get a VIP thingy from?

Thanks!

GeorginaWorsley · 08/03/2010 20:38

plim
Thanks for the cardi link.
Just what I am looking for!

traceybath · 08/03/2010 20:43

MM try here

Hope that works

OllieWollieWoo · 08/03/2010 20:56

Blossoming - does this link to your dress work here - and is it the right dress? Very lovely if so - dress called Jamlia, colour is bluebird:
here

OllieWollieWoo · 08/03/2010 21:00

Romanarama - I live in Holland but like to shop in Antwerp! Where do you go for your big shopping sprees - other than online! My DH is Dutch so under lots of pressure to learn the lingo - progress very slow tho!

CHOOGIRL · 08/03/2010 21:23

Hi Ladies

Survived the Abba party but glad to be back in normal clothes.
Trying to catch up with all the links.
Blossoming I love that you spent £550 on boots you've never worn. Makes me feel better as I was contemplating whether to ebay these which I have in black. I have worn them fewer than 5 times.

Roman I would say yes to choos wouldn't I I'm not sure if you commute but find the choo heels a pita when navigating escalators. I now wear these

I'm thinking of taking a day off to sort my wardrobe. I'm currently contemplating ebaying this

carciofi · 08/03/2010 21:24

Hi, just checking in quickly.
Blossoming, I can open your link and think the dress is perfect for christening/40th.

Verity, thanks for the name of the shop, I hadn't heard of it. I actually don't go into the city centre much now I have DD but stick around Howth as the Dart is painfully slow! I'll tell my friends to check it out though.

LTEC, I think that was kind of rude of your MIL.

MM, I really like that top in navy, I may have to copy you!

Georgina, I was thinking of getting this navy cardigan but it is probably too cold for it at the moment. I think I saw a discount for Figleaves in Promotional codes forum.

Hells and Romanarama, hope your DC are better tomorrow.

The recipes are making me hungry. Could someone post the recipe for light chocolate cake?

CHOOGIRL · 08/03/2010 21:26

Forgot to mention - tried on the rats can stay. I like them now just need to find suitable shoes and top.

blossoming - not sure I've got the right one - but there are so many gorgeous ones! But if it's the one I think it is - lovely!

LetThemEatCake · 08/03/2010 22:11

Holding ds2 in my arms and checking in from iPhone as not sure he won't wake up if I put him down... Came out in awful rash this arvo, eyes puffed up etc.. He's very uncomfortable, waking up with the itchiness... Doctor tomorrow

Soooo... Haven't clicked on any links but Choo, as your BFF I think it's a given that I have first dibs on any ebayable items in your closet!! blossoming gorgeous boots but not quite my style... I reckon list them at 10% less than the current on-sale price and bids should drive it up. Being a larger size you should do well; I generally find that I do.

My seahorse necklace arrived today and is just beautiful. On the annoying side, however, I missed the delivery of the red Geiger espadrilles by a mere 20 mins.

Haven't had dinner yet and wondering whether to bother. Quite nice having my big sleeping lump of a lad in my arms.. It's been a while

blossoming · 08/03/2010 22:18

I think it was called jamelia like OWW pointed out. Gorgeous.
Have just been booking our Paris trip for Easter. V excited.
Choo - re boots: it makes me feel ill with the vulgarity of spending so much money on something I've never worn. In my defense, things were difficult at the time and I just assumed I'd get something brown to go with. Only brown doesn't suit me!
(whispers) I've also got them in black, and I've worn them loads!
