You look great in the clip LTEC!!!

LetThemEatCake · 02/03/2010 21:59

feck and arse. I had no idea that was on you tube. Am seriously embarrassed .. was feeling all lovey and proud towards dh and wanted everyone to see his film. Hopefully you still will!! Am mortified

Am going off-comm.

notyummy · 02/03/2010 22:00

Hana - you are right, looks like I am an autumn. Will have to study the palette to see if I am missing out on anything I should be trying!

blossoming · 02/03/2010 22:04

Evening all.
Had such a great day with the house of colour rep. We were told to wear no make up (aargh), then she covered us in a white sheet and tied our hair back then started draping us in different colour scarves. It was obvious that the cool tones suited me better and the brighter cools in particular hence winter.
Then she put make up on me and that was quite significant. I looked great. I've been wearing lots of coral and bronze-wrong! The berry shades were much better.
Acc to the book I should wear navy or charcoal eyeliner. I've been eyeing that lancome pop petrol for a while. Will purchase on sat.
The colour swatches which you get include colours I would never have worn - no orange though! Really saw what a difference it makes and going to work through the colours. Highly recommended.
It is to do with skin tone not hair colour or eye colour so not a great help to you sorry Not Yummy.

OllieWollieWoo · 02/03/2010 22:06

LTEC - Please dont feel embarressed/mortified/whatever - wish I hadn't said anything now. I'd be shouting from the rooftops if that was me tho! I agree with VB - lets focus on what you're gonna wear to the swanky premier! Not seen 24 for a while so not sure what the lingo is but its something like "get yer arse back in-comm stat"!!!

hellsbelles · 02/03/2010 22:10

Glad you had fun blossoming - weird they said no orange? I've have one I can wear (though this was back in 1919 - it's a very very pure bright orange.

LTEC - don't be daft. You look lovely in it and it does look like a brilliant film. As Verity said - do we get to help pick the premiere dress

I have been lurking on this thread for a while, just posting very infrequently but had to say LTEC you look absolutely bloody stunning! You are beautiful. And to look like that 6 weeks after giving birth, well I am .

Blossoming- I am glad you enjoyed your colours day. I received it as a birthday present and although I was very sceptical it was brilliant and it makes buying clothes easier I have found. I am a cool spring apparently!

bunnymother · 03/03/2010 08:43

Cakey - you are so beautiful! You look even better in the film than your photos on your profile, they don't do you justice. And you come across as so warm and loving. WOW, that's some footage to be pleased with!

Re the Vivian Westwood dress, am going against the grain here. Whilst the colour is gorgeous, I think the shape is tricky unless narrow of frame as it flares from the waist. I don't go for any flared skirts unless they flare from the hip down only (find it more flattering).

RE Ossie Clark and Moschino dresses - both are nice, but neither are incredible IMP. OC dress looks too shapeless and Moschino dress is pretty, but don't love the fabric.

Thanks for all the comments on the Supertrash dress, its a no go. Will "save myself" for the perfect tan sandals.

hellsbelles · 03/03/2010 09:05
  • I have found my wallet (stuffed into my jacket sleeve). thank you all yesterday for being so sympathetic and I'm so sorry it was undeserved! I feel very stupid.

My punishment is that as I have cancelled my cards I still have to wait for the new ones (they can't re-instate the old ones). So no spending on anything and even have to borrow lunch money off DH.

Sincere apologies everyone

bunnymother · 03/03/2010 09:07

Thank God, Hells!! Red Smythson is with you still

hellsbelles · 03/03/2010 09:13

That's true Bunny - I was so relieved. It is lovely and was a present so I felt very sad at the thought of losing it.

blossoming · 03/03/2010 09:49

Hells - so glad you found your purse. I love smythson, and have the iphone cover on preorder. Can't wait.

Monkeysmama, so sorry to hear your news re gran. You are amazing to cope so well with ILs. Come and talk dvfs with me.

On that subject, isn't this the most perfect dress for a winter? here.

LTEC, come back!!

PCPlumIsMyHomeboy · 03/03/2010 09:51

Oh, Hells! At least you've still got yr purse, but how utterly annoying.

Don't feel silly, is sort of think I do most days. In fact, just saw an ad with a dementia sufferer, and realised that I have most of the symptoms.

carciofi · 03/03/2010 10:01

Hells, glad you found your purse.

LTEC, you look fab.

Verity, I like the blazer. I got something similar in Zara last summer.

I think I am going to order this to wear with jeans.

I am trying to resist buying the Missoni scarf and save the money for something more substantial.

Blossoming, I read that as isn't this the most perfect dress for winter and thought, brrr. It is a gorgeous dress, I love DVF.

Got to go and post off my Botkier sale now.

carciofi · 03/03/2010 10:12

Read back a few more pages. MM, your ILs certainly sound a bit strange, poor you.

Tracey, fab scarf.

OllieWollieWoo · 03/03/2010 12:27

Glad you found purse Hellsbells! I'm always doing stuff like that! I thought I had lost a special necklace DH gave me (it was gift quite early on in relationship and I wore it on our wedding day so sentimental etc). Was so upset at the time and then it turned up about 9 months later - in the plastic box we kept the babymonitor in when travelling!!! I actually cried with joy!
Just back from a 2 hour shopping trip without DC - thought Zara had some lovely things in - esp a lovely navy and white striped knee length dress with lovely neckline - just didnt suit me on. Saw the horse print top - loved it (wrong colour for me) so brought something similar in a steel grey/bluey colour from a different shop - have yet to try it on tho. Mango had some nice blazers too.

GeorginaWorsley · 03/03/2010 12:45

Talking of navy and white,am quite keen on this

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 03/03/2010 13:47

Morning all, I had a chance to nip into Gap this morning and came away with
this for a tenner
and 2 layering long-sleeved t-shirts (white, red) reduced from £20 to £5.

Last night I bought
this in violet
and
this in cream
and
this in black

but at lunchtime when I went to the bank it wouldn't let me have any money! So that's it for me and shopping at the moment, I have officially run out of savings plus need to buy new pair of glasses which is going to cost £300+.

hells glad you found your purse accompanied by a Simpson duh.

LTEC you look fab for 5 week post natal, I still had swollen eyes at that point from crying the whole time!

blossoming I just get a blank page with the DVF link! Glad the house of colour day went well, might ask for it as a birthday present.

GW love that tunic, really like the stripes that are around at the moment, feel really fresh and springlike after the horrible weather we have been having!

carciofi fanastic colour of blazer!

notyummy · 03/03/2010 13:47

Helles - hopefully this will make you feel better.

Last year I went for a girls weekend in Leeds - spa, shopping, eating and a leetle bit of drinking wine as well.

On the Saturday night we all got dressed up to go for drinks/posh meal (Anthony's in Leeds which is fab btw). My clutch would not hold everything securely and I decided to put cash card inside bra. Cue - 1am, having been drinking steadily since 6pm, me forgetting where I had put it and convinced it had been lost/stolen. Got friend to pay for my share of meal, and drunkenly rang up bank to cancel card.

At 2am I was in the room removing clothes when the cash card fell out on to the bed as I flung off underwear. Best mate and I in stitches.

Classy......

bunjies · 03/03/2010 13:48

I'm sorry LTEC I also HAD to watch the clip on You Tube. The film looks very funny but more importantly you look amazing .

bunjies · 03/03/2010 13:56

Libra - love the Tam Tam top in violet. I was hoping to get one for myself but they don't have my size . Bad luck about the savings. Perhaps you need to get on the ebay tip!!

LetThemEatCake · 03/03/2010 14:21

verity I like that blazer, very fresh looking. LOL at Per Una.

Libra nice work on the purchases, the violet Tam Tam sweater as that is the same colour as my dress it's a really jewel-like, lovely purple.

Hells very relieved for you about the wallet!!!

Have only had a flick through so far but first impressons are: Marie Claire: buy it. The one with Nicole Richie on the cover.

going back to read rest of thread and check out links

carciofi · 03/03/2010 14:23

Libra, I like your purchases especially the Gap top. I might have a quick look in there after Gymboree if DD allows me!

Notyummy, I did something similar after a big night out! I had a credit card linked to my dad's account (leftover from my student days) so when I cancelled my card, his was also cancelled. He wasn't impressed.

Tracey, Revolve have some Current Elliotts on sale, I just ordered another pair. Tulip for 15% off still works.

OllieWollieWoo · 03/03/2010 14:40

Question - what are White Company clothes like. Need something like this in white to replace a similar one that is several years old and starting to look like it. Do they wear well and worth the money or would I be better off looking in somewhere like H&M for a thin t and vest???
