dexter73 · 13/02/2010 16:25

I was wondering that - I think it is because they are coming soon so you can't see them properly yet.

Cyb - nice one, I like Great Plains, forgot about them too

minxofmancunia · 13/02/2010 17:03

I've got quite a bit of whitestuff, wear it for work manily but don't want to be into it anymore as it's too twee and dull but am really scuppered as to where else to look for clothes.

have alwys hated Next, Top Shop too young for me, H&M ok sometimes I suppose, french Connection overpriced, Zara crap quality, Gap boring and shockingly bad quality, tops go out of shape after just one wash.

Too old for Diesel/Miss Sixty/Fornarina. In the olden days of more cash/no dcs/tiny mortgage could go shopping in Selfridges for DKNY etc but those days are a misty memory .

Seeing as i can never be bothered to go further than John lewis and M&S on the A34 (too idle to even bother with M/CR city centre ), I'm stuck with M&S and White Stuff.

Feel like my mother.

janeite · 13/02/2010 17:17

Warehouse dress is lovely. I linked to it for somebody last week I think. Might have a look for it tomorrow.

I have nothing from White Stuff - have only ever been in one once and didn't like it; even things that looked quite nice on t'internet were shapeless and too long irl.

Went shopping last week and hated nearly everything - everywhere. Mint Velvet had a few nice things and Warehouse is sometimes good.

Other than that, I really don't know where to look anymore. Next is hideous. Zara stuff always seems cheaply made and nasty fibres and shopping there is like a jumble sale. Won't even look in H&M - can't stand it. Oasis is getting more and more lurid and more and more expensive. Ltd Collection has gone horribly downhill the last few seasons.

FrankieValli · 13/02/2010 17:21

i want a mink velevt chez nous

FrankieValli · 13/02/2010 17:21

agree re prices in oasis

Quattrocento · 13/02/2010 17:23

I'm definitely over a certain age

But I didn't even know they did clothes! Other than pyjamas and stuff. Blimey, you live and learn ...

fluffles · 13/02/2010 17:27

i like whitestuff for tops.. don't like the cut of their skirts though (why are they all the same shape/length???) and trousers are about three inches too long for me.

but then i also like fatface - so sue me!

wouldn't wear any of it to a party though.. unless a very casual daytime party.

fluffles · 13/02/2010 17:28

Quattro.. you too mean 'white company'... 'white stuff' is different.

janeite · 13/02/2010 17:34

Don't like Fat Face.

Where DO you all shop?

All of the below do nothing at all for me -
Wallis
Next
H&M
Zara
Fat Face
White Stuff
Mango
Topshop
Dotty P's

What's left?

FrankieValli · 13/02/2010 17:35

er those shops

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 13/02/2010 17:38

Lack of reasonably-priced non-middle-aged-looking garments for the over 40's is ANNOYING.

Clothes shopping used to be exciting , now it just feels like an exercise in fending off nakedness.

Am already despairing about what do to when it's too hot to wear biker boots and leggings, that'll be most of my current wardrobe out of the window (and I've only just come round to the idea of leggings again, ffs)

FrankieValli · 13/02/2010 17:39

i know
what WAS i wearing beofre jeggings

"Clothes shopping used to be exciting , now it just feels like an exercise in fending off nakedness"

ROFL

noddyholder · 13/02/2010 17:44

Have ditched jeggings and am a lot happier as they lull you into a false sense of security and make anything else feel tight Proper jeans much more flattering

janeite · 13/02/2010 17:44

I wouldn't be seen dead in leggings OR jeggings though.

So what CAN I wear, when naked isn't an option? ie never - our house is too cold!

FrankieValli · 13/02/2010 17:44

ooh blimey not with belts sticking through long sweaters though
