get your eyebrows threaded. It can take at least 5 years off you, and makes you look v wide awake and perky!

DreamsInBinary · 12/01/2010 21:29

The protect/perfect serum - does it go on over or under moisturiser?

duckyfuzz · 12/01/2010 21:30

under

agree with eyebrows and alcohol, I have aged over the christmas hols

thatsnotmymonkey · 12/01/2010 21:40

anusol on your eyes at night, but only a couple of times a week. stop boozing and smoking(does anyone still smoke?)

Swedington · 12/01/2010 21:47

Don't use mineral make up; it makes you look like a pantomime horse villian.

Where does one go to get eyebrows threaded?

Eyebrow make up makes you look wide awake.

Southwestwhippet · 12/01/2010 21:49

Protect your face from biting wind/cold with sun screen and covering lower part with a scarf. I work outside and spending long hours in bad weather can give you really dry and chapped skin, also broken veins in the long term.

RolandButter · 12/01/2010 21:51

god swedes i SO agree with you a bout the mineraly make up thing
like a corpse

What should I be using to stop my lips drying out?

I wear lip gloss most of the time and vaseline at night

But they are still dry and flaky

traceybath · 12/01/2010 21:54

ByTerry lip balm is wonderful stuff.

As others have said - fake tan, eat less and do keep up with waxing/shaving. It may be winter but I still like to be relatively hair free.

Am off for beautician overhaul on saturday.

Swedington · 12/01/2010 21:55

I always think mineral make-up and piercing- blue fcoloured contact lenses make a good team. It's a scary-eyed-bread-knife look which is perfectly finished orf with a scarf that whiffs of 70s make-up.

thatsnotmymonkey · 12/01/2010 21:55

lansinoh for your lips, hands/nails, round the nose and across your cheecks if very dry over night.

So many good ideas on this thread. As a flakey, horned hoofed, hairy winter person, you've inspired me to sort myself out.

Swedington · 12/01/2010 21:59

Don't put make up on when you are fresh out of the bath or shower.

TigerFeet · 12/01/2010 22:03

Lanisoh I have already - happily my nips are fine and not in need of it - never thought to use it anywhere else... thanks

Exfoliate - tick
Defuzz - tick
Eyebrows tidy - tick
Quick swish with mascara & lip gloss before leaving house - tick
nails tidy and painted - tick
Cut down on alcohol - tick

Drink more water - must try harder
Exercise - must try harder
Hair - appt booked for next week

So not doing too badly really. Better than I have done in months if I'm honest, and I have been getting compliments on my appearance recently so it's clearly working.

Swedington · 12/01/2010 22:05

Christiana - I should have said mineral make up makes me look like a pantomime horse. I'm sure you look lovely.

I use Vitalumiere and it is lovely but actually I still look like panto horse.

I love this thread. It feels like my natural home.

My feet are really horrid at the moment. I am thinking of going to a chiropodist. Has anyone ever been to one? I think I would probably book one in the next town and go in sunglasses and a beret. Book under a pseudonym (Justine Roberts ) and pay in cash. And never go to that town again.

Lotster · 12/01/2010 22:07

Aah forgot about the bum cream on your eyes...!

and white eyeliner (applied carfully, not a la Courtney Cox) can get rid of red, tired peepers.

don't wear lipstick of you have chapped lips, looks terrible! just stick to gloss or balm.

traceybath · 12/01/2010 22:18

And wear pretty underwear - ideally matching. And please paint toe nails on nicely moisturised feet.

I'm a bit phobic about feet and am scared of yellow toe nails

fishie · 12/01/2010 22:19

i don't like curly girl method, need shampoo. also i have v fine hair so it gets weighed down. do agree with only combing when wet etc.

i went to scholl it was brutal and i got left with ragged toenails. no hard skin though.

so far this week i have dyed some hair, got rid of other hair, been for a run and to a pilates class. next up is redoing toes.
