...but i was wondering what with new shapes etc etc if there was anything that might be out there for me. it's all about the lack of waist for me. actually, it's all about the fact that i have no abdominal muscles to speak of, post-children. so i might look okay in a dress but then, you know, i sit down and... sack of spuds.

No problem, I think you do need to just try some things on in different shops to see how they look in real life. Good luck!

And this link is just because I'm going to keep posting it until I find someone who has been waiting all their life for a poodle tunic

AitchTwoToTangOh · 25/10/2009 20:23

lol i love that. and i know an eighteen year old who would rock it out, like, todally.

I have no idea what fruit I am. I never fit any of the descriptions (nor do I seem to be a rectangle or inverted triangle).

I need to get my shapes done, a la colours...

fishie · 25/10/2009 20:27

get that red wallis one aitch. what size are you?

has anyone got the sunday times style mag to hand, there was something on the intro page - a sort of red tartan job (which aitch may not be entirely good for you, how does one wear checky shirts in scotland??) - some new company which looked interesting. i left mine at mum's.

SimonHowl · 25/10/2009 20:28

nork you are a avocado

SimonHowl · 25/10/2009 20:28

NorkilyChallenged · 25/10/2009 20:30

Avocado. But of course. It all makes sense now.

Katisha · 25/10/2009 20:31

Fishie I think it was this from Toast. Therefore hideously overpriced...

fishie · 25/10/2009 20:31

i am a parsnip

the best of empire but without the pg bulge

AitchTwoToTangOh · 25/10/2009 20:31

just about to scoff at the exc englishness of kew stores and concessions but i see that they have JUST appeared in our local john lewis so will investigate furhter. likewise wallis, deffo. i have a long cardi from tesco (ahem) you've reminded me, i wonder where it's gone? oatmeal, though, not a great shade for me but the buttons on all the others looked cheapo.

fishie · 25/10/2009 20:33

xpost katisha. that was it, what a shame. it looked so promising over sil's shoulder.

hoxtonchick · 25/10/2009 20:33

would that red one work fishie? i feel like you know me . and did you get the next jeggings from another thread?

AitchTwoToTangOh · 25/10/2009 20:39

do you know what, howl, this is what i miss from before having kids. wandering round the shops with pals trying on clothes and hissing 'buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuy iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit' at them when they hit a good frock. even when we try it now we're always panicking about getting home to our bloomin' children and so the day does not become about getting drunk early and then late in smart clothes and shopping bags.

OP posts:
fishie · 25/10/2009 20:40

next jeggings are going back, they were too floppy. i think have been spoilt by the topshop ones which seem to be made of wood but look fantastic. see my tights recommendation on other thread, they are marvellous.

i am dying to get the red dress but have the summer version already and i do prefer a tight arm. i'd prefer a darker colour too - wallis are really bright in rl.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 25/10/2009 20:41

fishie · 25/10/2009 20:41

i find when i have opportunity to shop am either hormonal and craving something like a boden hotchpotch or have no money. whenever i find something i want am either too fat or too poor.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 25/10/2009 20:41

linky link, hox.

OP posts:
fishie · 25/10/2009 20:43

HA i go straight up from hips to bosom. i thought simon was a shift kind of person though..?

AitchTwoToTangOh · 25/10/2009 20:44

i just think that dress deserves a wider audience. it's what i'd wear if i had functioning abs.

OP posts:
fishie · 25/10/2009 20:44

still on clipboard i am devoted to all things falke.

florenceuk · 25/10/2009 20:58

I'm an apple and I was thinking about this one from Kew (as lacking stylish could-go-out or go-to-work wear) shadow print or this one flowery thing - would these suffer from pregnant look?

DH liked this (out of stock in my size) jigsaw expensive dress
