jajas my mum is 53 and looks amazing in hers! I would never wear them with my ass hanging out, long tops all the way

I just don't get the vitriol directed at the jeggings....surely it's just a slightly different colour of leggings?

er, monkeytrews....I know who I am if that helps...but perhaps you're on the wrong thread?

pingviner · 02/10/2009 23:40

Im trying to work out what legging evolution comes next

personally Im in favour of tweggings which are an unholy itching communion of tweed and leggings

or deggings, I suppose, which are a jegging but extended as dungrees?

PurlyQueen · 02/10/2009 23:41

Well, I'm a size 16, 5ft 10 and 37 years old.
I love my jeggings.
I'm not ready for Country Casuals yet!

TigerDrivesAgain · 02/10/2009 23:42

no no no no no no no no

no no no no no

HidingFromTheDM · 02/10/2009 23:43

Oh sweet jesus NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! What colour-blind, one armed monkey created these monstrosities??

LittleMissWilts · 02/10/2009 23:49

A one armed monkey?! That's no way to talk about Monkeytrews! Lol

love my jeggings. Agree with you all, long top is a must. I saw an "older lady" in town once with cheapo see-through leggings on, short top. Looked vile. V disturbing.

pingviner · 02/10/2009 23:55

got it!
Meggings - a cross between monkeytrews and leggings, see
possibly with a tail

would that count as evolution of the legging or more of a throwback?

WickedWitchSouthWest · 03/10/2009 00:01

dont joke about tweggings, those are definitely going to be next!

LittleMissWilts · 03/10/2009 00:09

Meggings, haha! So furry and warm. With the stale smell of beer and Merrydown being a unique characteristic. You could be onto something love....

WickedWitchSouthWest · 03/10/2009 00:15

ha! love it! Quite 70's i should think!

I'm going to go on a mission tmrw for sequin leggings...how can I justify them to the old man?

LittleMissWilts · 03/10/2009 00:17

With a big grin and puppy dog eyes!

gigglewitch · 03/10/2009 00:18

pmsl - read the last page of this lot and by ribs hurt now

how about Beggings - the ones with the boots already sewn in (not the geezer in the smelly tweed coat sitting in the shop doorway)

I was coming in to say Yes to the op / thread title - have bought some [more] from new look today. And I'm 38. Ner.

MrsMerryHenry · 03/10/2009 00:19

Jeggings. This is when fashion designers place bets on how dumb the public is.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 03/10/2009 00:24

ah littlemiss ...ve have vays

Beggings is v good.

How about gluggings? tight trousers with a handy "cup holder" arrangement on each thigh? (sorry, my brain is mashed!)

gigglewitch · 03/10/2009 00:27

pmsl

justbeenforapromenade · 03/10/2009 08:29

I love Indian style churidar from Toast. Very flattering but must come under a tunic/ dress of course. That goes without saying.

BalloonSlayer · 03/10/2009 10:20

I have got some of the Tesco ones. They were £12.99.

They are not leggings material but denim and are, as far as I can tell, skinny jeans with an elasticated waist and no pockets which tuck into boots properly and must be worn with a long top. In fact are to give a better silhouette under a long top than normal jeans, hence the lack of pockets.

But like someone else said I have to keep hoiking them up. I thought that was because I am between sizes.

cremolafoam · 03/10/2009 10:24

Anything that avoids hoiking is good.
I hoik constantly- jeans trousers tights leggings. Is my waist diproportionate to the rest of me? Or am I a funny shape.
