Someone please take advantage of this obvious misprint on the Office website.

I checked and it does stay at £40 when you add it to your basket. No idea whether it will get all the way through the process, but it is worth a try. I have a pair already, so it is no use for me.

no, you're right grasping was unfair.

on the faq it says to phone them if you haven't had a confirmation within 24 hrs, which would have saved thinking you had them when you didn't. the 20% offer seems generous to me.

stillfrazzled · 09/09/2009 13:47

Fair enough, thanks for coming back to say so.

For the record, I did phone - and someone told me I did have them! Then nowt for four days till I phoned again and was told I didn't. Which was why 20% off seemed a bit sh*te when I'd mentally been thinking Yippee, 80% off!

millenniumfalcon · 09/09/2009 13:50

also fair enough, in that case i can understand you being rather more peed off than i was.

pingapengin · 09/09/2009 13:54

Im gutted i missed this! have been eyeing those boots up for a while...

smallorange · 09/09/2009 13:57

'I can see your point, but noone wanted a soapbox...they just wanted their boots.'

said · 09/09/2009 14:12

They here, they're here! Very very nice. can even get them on over jeans so not too slim. Ever so slightly distressed looking so presume this is what teh "rug" bit referred to or I've got some battered ones from back of cupboard. Not complaining at £40

Thank you, thank you joliejolie

millenniumfalcon · 09/09/2009 14:13

indeed, point taken.

rolledhedgehog · 09/09/2009 14:18

I have just got mine. Would not have paid full price for them but for £40 they are great. My calves must be chunkier than I thought though as they are a bit if a squeeze! Must be all the cake walking that I do.

joliejolie · 09/09/2009 14:19

Yes said I think that leather is the waxy, distressed leather, like my biker boots.

OP posts:
Habbibu · 09/09/2009 14:27

Mine have just arrived, but don't fit on the calf - before you all get excited (!) - I'm 37 weeks pregnant, so am hanging on to them - I do plan to be (quite a bit) thinner than I am atm, so can use them as testers/encouragement...

Temptation to ebay them for almost full price is strong, mind, but they are lovely, and I WANT TO WEAR THEM. That'll get me out of the house pushing the damn pram. Thanks, jolie!

mustrunmore · 09/09/2009 14:31

It is a distressed look leather, but the box was very distressed!!! So much so that it adds credence to the fact they were just being sold off! Oh, I love them. Not taken them off since they came.

LuluMaman · 09/09/2009 14:32

have size 6 pair here that are too tight.. will sell on to a regular MNer.

don't have paypal, but will take a postal order and will despatch boots when money recieved!

CAT me!

flowerybeanbag · 09/09/2009 14:49

I've CATted you Lulu!

Now I've sent the message though, it occurs to me I should have asked would it be possible for you to measure the circumference round the top? It's just there's no point me buying them from you if they might be too tight anyway...

LuluMaman · 09/09/2009 15:00

i;ve just parcelled them up flowery! and i don;t know where my tape measure is.. give me a few minutes to sort it out

LuluMaman · 09/09/2009 15:06

35.5 cm

they are slightly highter at the fron than the back so i have measured from the lower bit all the way round..

flowerybeanbag · 09/09/2009 15:14

Ah, I'm not skinny enough then! 35.5cm is pretty slim-cut isn't it? I measured both myself and also my existing boots, and it's no good.

Thanks for measuring anyway Lulu and please disregard my CAT, I'm sure there are plenty of MNers skinnier of calf than me who would be happy to take you up on your offer!

LuluMaman · 09/09/2009 15:16

yes, i am usually ok with knee boots, but these are quite slender. sorry they're no good for you..

will hopefully make some otehr Mners day ! [s,ile]

missmelly · 09/09/2009 15:29

rut roh
I hope if mine turn up that they're a little bigger with the bigger size boot

and I dont have particularly big calves I dont think!

NorbertDentressangle · 09/09/2009 16:12

Lulu -I would love to buy them off you but I'm not sure of the etiquette here as further down the thread DogAgain said that I could maybe buy hers if they don't fit her -although a)she might not even get her order through b) they may well fit her anyway in which case I won't get the chance.

I desperatley want need these boots just don't want to p* anyone off in the process

What do you think?

PS-I've measured and they'll fit me fine

LuluMaman · 09/09/2009 16:40

i don;t want to tread on any toes ( as it were!!) maybe wait until dogagain has got hers and see what happens. if no takers in a couple of days, i will return to fly london as want to be able to get a refund.

if dogagain not selling you are welcome to mine, norbert.

NorbertDentressangle · 09/09/2009 16:44

Thanks Lulu.

I'll keep watching the thread and if DogAgain isn't back in a couple of days I'll be in touch so please don't send them back yet!

vacaloca · 09/09/2009 16:57

Lulu, I'll join the queue to get yours if nobody else wants them. Not sure if you'll recognise my name though. But I did have a VBA2C - does that earn me any points?

Miamla · 09/09/2009 16:59

ooh, joined this late but i'd love a pair in a size 6 so can i be added to your hopeful waiting list please LuluMaman? (i appreciate i'm nowhere near the top but figured there was no harm in asking!)

LuluMaman · 09/09/2009 17:08

yes, vaca, i remember you, but even a VBA2C won;t swing you up to the top of the list

so Norbert first in line, then vaca and then miamla.

maybe if you all live near each other you could have them on rotation??

they are lovely boots, leather is butter soft and got a funky lining.. just my calves are too porky.

hope whoever ends up with them loves them too!!
