.....here

Men's shirt and children's fleeces.

Am really hoping the Biker Jacket comes up this week. Do not want to pay £110 for it

Should have said that post above is aimed at Allnew!

Hi chattermouse - been to the post office to collect my items (first thing I did this morning!)

So - I'm keeping it The smaller one that is (ordered a 10 and 12). Am really pleased with it, exactly as I expected with colours. Feels like a proper raincoat, yet much prettier than my functional north face! I'm going to wear it out later today - one upside of it raining again today .

So yesterday I ordered a biker jacket in brown, and 2 scoop knitted tops. Forgot to order the round necked henley though so need to do that today. Oh, forgot, also ordered DS a top. Have spent a small fortune. Thanks for the zara tip, will have a look (or maybe I shouldn't!)

Now you've said that about the knitted dress you've got me interested, I really did want one, especially after the boden one didn't work out

Hope your mac arrives today! - let me know if you like it too

pleasechange · 04/09/2009 10:23

chattermouse - meant to add, maybe you should request royal mail delivery instead, I find it's quicker

yes ruby that's what I thought!

chattermouse · 04/09/2009 10:38

OOOHHH am so pleased that your coat fits and is fabo! It is raining here too, every bloody day without fail and wish mine was here to wear. So how warm do you think it will be? Will it do over December/Jan do you think? Obviously shove loads of layers underneath too. I have a North Face too, it has a zip in fleece so is warm. But agreed that it is not the most glamourous item on the block. I wonder if i decided that a preferred the red one if Boden would let me exchange my multi for red and let me keep the discounted price i got when it was deal of the day? I should have ordered 2 and sent one back i think.

Hopefully the rest of your goodies will turn up and be spot on too. Funnily enough some of my later orders Boden are sending by royal mail (they elected to do this of their own volition). It still says 4-5 days though (sigh).

I will be back with a link to the m&S dress in a minute.

What a shame this isn't real life. Or do you think we would look just too much sitting in starbucks together in our macs, me in the hotchpotch dress and you in the round necked Henley?!

chattermouse · 04/09/2009 10:43

The dress is lovely. Clings in all the right places and fitted me in an 8 (though i would usually buy a 10). The belt is meant to be worn on the waist i think but, being tall, i fastened it under my bust and it looked ace. Could really dress it up with heeled boots too.

oh noooo, i pout in a 15% off code and now it has taken away the offers of the day!!!!

can anyone tell me how to get them back>?? what is todays?

was today the end of it or does it continue next week?

pleasechange · 04/09/2009 13:51

chattermouse you won't believe it but I was looking at that very dress online the other day and thought it would really suit me - the only thing that stopped me nipping to m&s yesterday to try it on was the rain! Yes it would be easy to spot eachother in matching knitted dresses and macs!

Well I have worn my mac twice today already - kept me lovely and dry

I'm pretty sure boden would just replace your mac for a different colour as a straight exchange. I've certainly bought things before at a discount and exchanged them for same discount, even to a different item. They're really good like that. tbh though I really like the multi colour that you've ordered. You sound like me though, v indecisive. Even when I eventually make a decision I dither

ruby that was quick

thisisyesterday the offer today was on men's jeans and a boys top I think. You'll see them if you google boden and go through that way (or if you're just looking at the actual item you'll see it has a discount on it)

chattermouse · 04/09/2009 14:55

Well Allnew, you should give that dress a try. I think i will end up picking it up as i have an m&s voucher and have been dithering for ages re what to buy with it. I am also drawn to the boyfriend cardi they do. Am yet to try it but it looks fab online. Will link later.

Guess what? There was a knock at my door earlier and lots of my Boden stuff has arrived. Review as follows:

Cloud Spotter Mac - Absolutely gorgeous! Colours are eyecatching and fit is perfect (size 10). Will stick with the multi i think. It is a lovely shape too. Not sack like yet not tightly fitted either. It really is just right. Am very impressed with it and defo keeping it. Bet you drew some admiring glances in yours earlier, allnew. We will look stylish and glam in the rain hereforth. And that's no easy feat!

Hotchpotch dress - Am undecided. I got it in a 10. Its fits really well but it is quite loose over the hips and waist. It is perfect for disguising a slight mummy tummy! It is a perfect fit on bust and shoulders. I got the red and whilst the print on it is larger and more 'in your face' than i imagined i like that it is no shrinking violet of a dress. It looks gorgeous with my heeled boots and a little red cardi i have. And the buttons on the chest are real so i can in fact open it and bf in it - total bonus. Would be great for any occasion whether casual or smart. The only think stopping me saying i am defo keeping it is the price. I paid £75 for it. That is a lot i think. If it was £45-50 i would defo keep. So will look round the shops to see what else is available for £70 before deciding.

Sailor hoodie, green stripe (sale item) - This is nothing special. That said it is very functional and would be useful. I got it in an 8 but would have liked it to be a touch longer in the body. I'm sending this one back. Paid £27 for it and could get similar elsewhere for a bit less.

Rosette green stripe cardi (sale item). I got it in a 10 as no 8's left. It is too big on neck and shoulders though so going back. Would have been nice if it fitted.

Hand printed Cardi - I got it in size 8, in the brown. IT IS STUNNING! This was a shot in the dark purchase as was unsure whether it be gorgeoous or vile. It fits so well i could wear it on its own. Looks ace with sailor leg jeans and wide leg trousers. Goes with pretty much all my trousers. Got it for £63 so wanted to hate this one as it is expensive! Am now hankering after the pink one too as it is so well fitting and flattering. Will try to restrain myself till the sale! May try the favourite v neck cardigan too as it looks a similar fit but is cheaper.

So have a few more things to be delivered but very happy for now.

Does anyone know when Boden will do its next sale, will it be after christmas or is there one before and do all things that they have in stock at the time go into the sale?

chattermouse · 04/09/2009 15:03

I like this cardi:

www.marksandspencer.com/gp/product/B002J49VX2/sr=1-61/qid=1252072876/ref=sr_1_61/280-4633284-6201116 ?ie=UTF8&node=&m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&keywords=&mnSBrand=core&size=9&rh=n%3A43078030%2Cn%3A43083030&page=7

or this one:

Would look great with skinny jeans!

Oumasrusks · 04/09/2009 15:28

Oooh Chattermouse, I wish I'd ordered the cloud spotter mac too when the special was on. I've been eyeing out the past two days. I was thinking of ordering that green stripe hoodie but after your review, I think maybe I'll spend my money on something else.

muddleduck · 04/09/2009 17:21

Oumasrusks (love the name btw, takes me back...)

If you want it I'd try ringing their customer services and see if they'll extend the offer for you. They've extended codes for me in the past so its worth a try...

chattermouse · 04/09/2009 18:39

Ouma - The mac really is nice. I am very, very pleased with it. Will be great with a jumper, vest and gloves for winter too. It isn't warm in itself but could be layered up. As regards the stripe hoodie, i thought it was fine but it didn't have anything extra special going for it. It was not particulary warm either. Could have done with being a bit longer and bigger all over. I promised myself i would only kept stuff i 'ooohed' over as i spent loads, so this one is going back! lol!

pleasechange · 04/09/2009 19:14

that's great you're happy with the mac chattermouse. I agree about the fit - not too loose or too tight. I drove in it today and it was fine. Already I don't know what I'd do without it!

So in a way it's great you like most of the items that have arrived so far, but I guess not so good on the £££ . I really do think the hotchpotch dress looks lovely (but the way you describe the fit is why I thought it wouldn't suit me - need things that go in at the waist). I guess the question is - if you sent it back, would you end up later regretting is as an outfit that would be really useful for particular occasions. Would you get enough wear out of it? I think it looks like the kind of dress that can be casual or dressy so I guess there would be lots of uses - anyway, am waffling now!

Waiting for next update of your arrivals!

Oumasrusks - worth a try to see if they'll discount the mac for you (it's probably still worth paying for it with 15% off though)

Oumasrusks · 04/09/2009 19:44

Muddleduck, Chatter and Allnew - thanks. I think I will phone and see what they say. I think I'll get it even if it's just with the 15% off.

I like the hotchpotch dress too

chattermouse · 04/09/2009 20:13

Ouma- bet you'll love it! What colour will you go for? They are all really attractive and eyecatching. If they end up in the sale i will have to sit on my hands to stop them from buying another colour!

Allnew - Yes, the hotchpotch thing is a quandry. I had hoped to hate it, given the price . Whilst i don't think i would wear it loads, you are right that it could be used for anything and would be a very handy thing to have in the wardrobe. We have a family party coming up in October and can just see myself in it with heeled boots..... All that said, it wasn't stunning though. But, am going to hold onto it and think about it some more and scour other shops before deciding i think. If you want waisted then no, it's not the one for you. That M&s one shows off waist really nicely though.....

You are right re the mac. i can't imagine how i coped before i had it! It is tres stylish.

So, does anyone know when Boden have their sales? is it x2 a year, once in summer and once in winter? If so, when roughly is winter one? If i watch the pink hand print cardi and it has stock before the sale will it defo go in? So many questions. we could do with Johnnie posting on here......lol!

wools · 05/09/2009 07:39

Chattermouse - the winter sale is early December. It always starts on a Friday so expect either the 4th December or 11th.

chattermouse · 05/09/2009 08:57

Thanks Wools. Here's hoping that the pink cardi makes it in then! It can be worn year round so i should really wait till sale.

bodenites · 05/09/2009 12:01

the winter sale is great i bought 2 great cord coats last year for £35 each i love them

NoahFence · 05/09/2009 12:39

i got he parisienne tee shirt
and i am the only person who LIKED it?
prefer the grey one

chattermouse · 05/09/2009 13:20

I thought it looked fine Noah, but prefer the round neck crew tops so went for those. Good for layering with the tanks!

Am very much looking forward to sale. Sounds bargainous bodenites!

Sarimillie · 05/09/2009 19:10

So it's not offer of the day, but can I ask for thoughts on the ruched waist dress? I have just got the moss version and, while it fits beautifully and the pattern's pretty, I'm not sure about the cerise flowers (my monitor shows them as violet) so it will probably go back. I like the purple one, but - given my dodgy monitor - I wonder what kind of purple it is in real life? Could anyone who has one advise?
