Men's shirt and children's fleeces.

Am really hoping the Biker Jacket comes up this week. Do not want to pay £110 for it

Chatternouse - you really should do the cash back thing to get an extra 5% when you spend that much

muddleduck · 03/09/2009 16:09

... and I really should learn to type

chattermouse · 03/09/2009 16:27

You are right muddle, just never got round to setting it up. Also i do rather hope that i don't like half the stuff so i end up actually spending only half that amount...

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 03/09/2009 16:37

Parisienne tee is horrible imo, both mine went back, it's short and boxy and the fabric is clingy and thin.

muddleduck - what is the cash back thing?

muddleduck · 03/09/2009 16:40

chattermouse - IME you quite often get the cashback on the full amount even if you do sent stuff back. It is not supposed to happen, but quite often it does

princessmel · 03/09/2009 16:42

'short and boxy' is how it looks in the pictures, but all the reviews comment on how long it its. Wierd.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 03/09/2009 16:46

I know that's why I bought it, to be fair I am 5'10", but I buy quite a lot from Boden and this is one of the worst for a long time.

To be fair though it's got loads of great reviews so it most be suiting alot of people.

Just not me.

Oh and the purple is really bright, not at all like the web colour.

chattermouse · 03/09/2009 16:58

anyone got the ditsy print double layer scoop neck? I fancy it but is sold out for ages...........

chattermouse · 03/09/2009 17:00

Muddle , seems i am missing a trick there!

muddleduck · 03/09/2009 17:02

Bodiddly

You register with a cashback site and then everytime you shop online you go to the cashback site first and then use their link to Boden (or whereever). Then you get a refund a month or so after you've done your shopping of say 5%. I've only been doing it for a few months. The companies vary interms of how much cash you get back and how quickly. IME Boden is one of the best. Of course the cashback site tries to encourage you to shop in places that they have good deals with which is why it all works. Basically the cashback site is giving the companies advertising. So far I can't see any down sides as long as you can be bothered to log on to the site each time you go shopping. You can also get extra cash back for referring people. There is stuff about these places on the moneysavingexpert site.

Here are some links to the site I use:

this link gives me a bit of money for referring you

this link gives me nothing

muddleduck · 03/09/2009 17:04

Oh just remembered there is a down side to all this...

you end up spending more money because in some warped way you feel like you are earning money when you're actually spending it

tulpe · 03/09/2009 17:05

Short & Boxy? Bugger .

I only ordered it because everyone commented on how long it was in the reviews. I am v long in the body and struggle to get tops long enough. The "tall" ranges are always too long in the arms for me as I am simply long and not at all tall!

It does look quite short in the photo though.....

There must be an awful lot of short-waisted Boden buyers if they all think it is too long

thanks MuddleDuck is that the same sort of thing as quidco (which I think I heard of on money saving expert)? Also, do you still have the chance to use codes and offers on the sites if you go to them via the cashback site?

muddleduck · 03/09/2009 17:11

I haven't used quidco but I think that is the same. You can usually use codes that the same time. With Boden I've never had a problem, and it is also ok during the sale (which is the only time I usually shop there). I did have a problem with next once but to be honest they give fairly pittiful cashback anyway. Might be worth looking around to see which site gives the best deal on the shop you use most.

bodiddly · 03/09/2009 17:21

thanks muddleduck .. if I decide to do it I will def click on your link so you get something for the referral

bodiddly · 03/09/2009 17:21

might be useful on the run up to christmas as I do all my shopping online!

princessmel · 03/09/2009 17:22

oh bums! I forgot to buy through Quidco. Again!

bodiddly · 03/09/2009 17:35

is it good princessmel?

princessmel · 03/09/2009 18:04

Yes it is.

My brother and sister have 'earnt' loads from there.
Through online shopping and buying house, car, holiday insurance etc. Some of these seem to get you a lot of cashback.

We ordered some bunkbeds last month and got about £20 cashback which will be depositied into our account.

Quido keep the first £5 of your earnings. As a one off thing.

pleasechange · 03/09/2009 19:13

chattermouse I followed the maths - at £437, makes me feel a bit better! Know what you mean though, there will at least be something that needs sending back out of that lot

btw - I think my mac arrived today - BUT I wasn't in, so I've got the Royal Mail card to collect it tomorrow Hopefully yours will arrive tomorrow as well

muddleduck · 03/09/2009 19:27

I don't think that TopCashBack keep anything.
Shame that quidco keep £5 - I was thinking of running accounts on both as the rates seem variable. not sure it's worth it if they keep £5.

gallery · 03/09/2009 20:39

I used quidco a lot but sadly they no longer affiliate to my favoured shopping places. I use them for tesco.com which I still use quite a lot. I have been happy with them but followed muddleduck recommendation for topcashback

chattermouse · 04/09/2009 09:36

at you mac arrival! Am looking forward to your full feedback and appraisal of said item though . Did you see the thread with a link on to a zara leasther jacket. It is in style and beauty. Wonder if you would like that instead if Boden Biker jacket is no good for you. It is £99 and very nice looking.

No sign of mine yet. The rest of my stuff (bar the tank tops) has been dispatched but is saying 4-5 days. So still have a bit of waiting to do. Am using the waiting time to peruse M&S online. If the Boden stuff dissapoints then i have a few back up ideas.....Lots of fab skirts and cardis in marks at mo. Tried on a lovely knitted dress from there too.
