It my treat for expressing breast milk for ALL by babys feeds for the last 4 months and intending to continue for the full 6 months - I deserve it!

mrsmaidamess · 25/04/2009 16:46

OMG.

Go to TK Maxx. Spend 12.99. It will be in your bag all day long anyway. Spend the rest of the money on something else! Perhaps a bag, that you will actually see

Zembo · 25/04/2009 16:48

I have the 12.99 purses and don't use them cos I don't like them enough! maybe I'll look some more first! Anyone actually like the purse?

OP posts:
mrsmaidamess · 25/04/2009 16:48

Yes, its nice but spending that much on it seems lunacy.

Zembo · 25/04/2009 16:52

Would ANYONE on here spend this much on a purse - beginning to think I AM mad!

OP posts:
FiveGoMadInDorset · 25/04/2009 16:54

No, well not that one.

MrsMattie · 25/04/2009 16:54

It's gorgeous, but blimey, it's pricey.

TheBolter · 25/04/2009 16:56

Yes dahling, it will date. The Mabel collection is so AW08.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 25/04/2009 16:56

if you were proper mad you could buy this one uk.hermes.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10201&catalogId=10051&langId=-11&cate goryId=82523&leftCategoryId=82522&topCategoryId=50958&parentCategoryId=82518&productId=41527&classif icationId=82528

Zembo · 25/04/2009 17:00

The fendi one is yuck! and no not that mad! anyone have any other suggestions for a gorgeous purse? Thanks for replies

LotsOfLovelyShoes · 25/04/2009 17:03

money aside those two leather sections would be difficult for anything less than tiny little childrens' finger, surely?

You could probably get a similar one off any market for a fiver if you looked...

mrsmaidamess · 25/04/2009 17:03

A purse is a purse is a purse.

It's not something I spend a lot of thought, OR money on tbh.

Zembo · 25/04/2009 17:08

I agree the outer pockets don't look very functional, but plenty of slots inside. Am I the only one who would spend lots on a purse??? My logic is that I'd use the purse more than my handbags as I'd use it almost everyday??

OP posts:
pottycock · 25/04/2009 17:09

A purse is most definitely not a purse!!

Don't like the zips tbh.

Ponderer · 25/04/2009 17:11

It's great.

Jambalaya · 25/04/2009 17:11

The purse is gorgeous BUT those zipper pockets outside look very fiddly and notice that the inner coin section has "poppers" - this sounds annoying. I also would spend the money on a bag and a cheaper purse. Yes you'd use a purse every day but the only people who'd see it would be the people you're paying whereas everyone could see your lovely handbag.

Zembo · 25/04/2009 17:15

I would see my purse though - it really doesn't bother me that other people wouldn't see my purchase - same principle as using nice make up, skin care etc etc

I suppose its the zips that i think might make it look a bit dated a few years down the line

OP posts:
MollieO · 25/04/2009 17:17

If you are going to spend that sort of money I would look here and you will get something lovely for a tenth of the price (not sure if they actually do mail order but their leather is beautiful).

Rindercella · 25/04/2009 17:21

Don't think you're mad at all. If you want to treat yourself, then treat yourself!
I have a purse from here - twas a gift from DH. Sure there are UK stockists.

pagwatch · 25/04/2009 17:22

Zembo.
I love Mulberry and most of their styles are classic and won't date.
It does look a bit fiddly for my taste but it looks very nice. If it is what you want and will make you happy then go for it.
I bought my friend their bronze make up bag for her birthday and she carries it around as a bag

SlubberBrandishingDeltaPeg · 25/04/2009 17:26

I have no problem at all with you spending £289 on a purse.

but

I really don't like that purse, at all. Sorry. It looks like it's from Next. I'm sure in RL it would be better, as you could smell and stroke the leather (or rub it just under your nose if you were upset or tired) but um, yes, I think it will date, or has indeed dated already.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 25/04/2009 17:27

Those Coach ones are lovely Rindercella
