Zembp
Don't go to AIBU (am I being unreasonable) - they will eat you alive.
Ansd tbh don't ever post that you are going to buy something expensive, even on Style and Beauty, as the shopping dementors will show up and voila you are suddenly Hitler with a debit card.

Pagwatch - thanks for the education! Must be obvious this is my first post!

Well, I say spend what you like but that's one ugly purse. IMO.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 25/04/2009 19:03

Your first post???? Welcome to MN!

Zembo · 25/04/2009 19:03

Just to add, I've enjoyed reading the respones and has been helpful (not being sarcastic here)and I give lots of money to charity xxxx

pretty obvious yeah...

( pag once posted a question about some very expensive shoes. I still have flashbacks)

Zembo · 25/04/2009 19:08

So many honest opinions are great - much better than asking my friends. Thanks again..

Good for the economy, no? Spending big bucks on a purse?

No idea if it will date as I have an old lady purse (but oh so practical). If you love it, and don't just want it because you think it is stylish now, and if it makes you happy, then go for it.

pottycock · 25/04/2009 19:15

sporran nation - this girl makes the most beautiful bags, sporrans and I have an absolutely gorgeous purse by her. Not too expensive but beautifully made with terrific leather. I'm a much bigger fan of little bespoke things like this, although I do lie mulberry (not the zips though, I'm allergic!)

mrsmaidamess · 25/04/2009 19:17

If I was going to splash out that much on a purse I would want one that made me catch my breath when I got it out to pay the milkman.

I would probably want one that made him catch his breath too.

I don't think your Mulberry one cuts the mustard on that score.

Lulumama · 25/04/2009 19:22

i think it looks a lot more stunning and statement-y in the acid yellow.

if you can afford it and your children won;t be living on stale bread so you can get it , go for it

weird inverted snobbery that you are allowed to be skint on MN, but god forbid you should have any money to lash out on something frivolous

i have had a Bridge wallet for around 6 years, it was £££ but has lasted , and teh leather has aged beautifully, would rather have one nice well made item than lots of cheaper ones.

MarshaBrady · 25/04/2009 19:23

I think it's a bit ugly, and perhaps even dated already.. Bit in the 80s.

But you should buy yourself something nice, what about a bag instead.

BitOfFun · 25/04/2009 19:27

Pottycock, I can't see purses on her site though? Great link, I love quirky stuff like that.

mrspnut · 25/04/2009 19:33

I have this one but in red and it makes me smile everytime I get it out of my bag.

It makes me feel like a little girl because it's such a dolly type purse and I partner it with a very old fashioned Radley handbag with a clasp fastening.

mrsmaidamess · 25/04/2009 19:34

That's cute mrs p.

purpleduck · 25/04/2009 19:38

ooh MrsP that is good. Is there a place for your bills?

I love shopping for purses and could never do it online as I need to play with all the compartments, ans make sure the zipper compartment is adequate for all my change

Picante · 25/04/2009 19:42

Zembo - all those who have said you don't need a reward for expressing have clearly never exclusively expressed and have no idea of the sheer determination that goes into carrying on every day/night.

I did it for a year and I feel mightily proud and should have thought about treating myself to something!

You've saved a lot of money on not buying formula for a start!

Well done you!

janeite · 25/04/2009 19:44

I like that one Mrs P. My purse is a Designers Guild one - lovely soft leather with a suede lining. It should have been about 50 pounds but I got it for 49 pence in the bargain bin in WH Smith!

I think nearly 300 pounds on a purse is just a bit obscene, I'm afraid.

pottycock · 25/04/2009 19:45

I think mine's a one-off BOF .

It's gorgeous brown leather with a big metal hoop over the clasp, pink and orange decorative stitching and a shot silk interior.

Everyone swoons when I whip it out. It's blindingly gorgeous!

flowerybeanbag · 25/04/2009 19:47

I do think it's a shame that someone can't start a 'do you like this?' thread without a flurry of comments about extravagance. I'm sure Zembo can be trusted to work out whether or not she can afford it and whether or not it's something she would like to spend that amount on.

I like it Zembo, a nice purse is great.

TheFallenMadonna · 25/04/2009 19:48

I am admiring mrsp's bobble purse very much, but DH is looking over my shoulder and telling me that the bobbles look too flimsy and I would break it in no time. Tell me he's wrong!

pottycock · 25/04/2009 19:49

I sold this beautiful cushion of hers to someone as a valentine's day present.......click on the image and look closely...!

mrsmaidamess · 25/04/2009 19:49

pottycock where is yours from

mrsmaidamess · 25/04/2009 19:50
