Why don't ginger people just dye their hair a normal colour?

Surely they should stop inflicting pain on the rest of us and go brunette or something?

(Don't take it too seriously; I'm in a mischievous mood!)

Oooh, Julian Rhind-Tutt! Weird name, gorgeous man!

I never, ever want to see that girl in your town . She'd soon find herself shaven if I did!

Mag7 - I think Mascara (great name, btw, I always loved Scarlett as a child) has probably read the rest of thread since sending her post, then slipped away red-cheeked!

Now, what on earth is the theory behind left-handers and accidents?

Speaking of accidents, did you know that if you have a twin boy and girl in a car accident with identical injuries, the girl's more likely to survive? I ask:

  1. why?
  2. how on earth could they test that?

Weird world.

do you think there are many unfortunate people who are both ginger AND left handed?

Fanjolina, how could you say such a thing? That's both gingerist and sinisterist (or...something...am failing rapidly here) !!

Oh, riven! I am SO, SO very sorry. Obviously when the swap failed you went home empty-handed, right?

Welcome back Riven

I love Catherine Tate's ginger sketches. After all, we gingers have the best sense of humour (necessity, really)

TheMagnificent7 · 03/08/2008 23:17

I just watched the Golden Compass, and if the girl in the lead role isn't the world's best ad for redheads then I don't know who is.

The Catherine Tate Ginger song is one of my favourite sketeches.

Left Handers - The idea is that most people are right handed, and tend to head towards the right when in a situation they need to avoid like a collision. Left handers apparently head to the left, but because they are in the minority, they tend to crash into the right handers more because they head in the same direction.

So, if you are ginger, and left handed, and I challenged you to a chicken run in my car because of it, we're both in trouble. So let's just calm down, stop the war, and have a nice biscuit.

Altogether now...Anyone fancy a _

TheMagnificent7 · 03/08/2008 23:21

And the twins thing ? Sounds like some bizarre old movie plot where they keep a stock of twins to run experiments on. "OK Boris, bring in another couple. Those two in the Crash Test Dummy t-shirts will do. Right...after three, lets see who survives. And FFS please don' waste any more left handers, we're running out"

elkiedee · 04/08/2008 00:03

I went out with a red-haired man who I found quite attractive. And I've always rather wanted red hair myself.

thumbwitch · 04/08/2008 00:05

see? SEE? jealousy...

PotPourri · 04/08/2008 00:06

I bet the highest sales of hair dyes are to red/auburn etc. So there is clearly something that people are so jealous of that they want to have ginger hair themselves ha! Hang around a few generations and they will all be gone anyway, it's a recessive gene.

ConstanceWearing · 04/08/2008 00:07

Yes, I am ginger and left-handed and I'm seriously unamused at this thread.

Could you talk about any other minority like this and still expect to get a laugh?

PotPourri · 04/08/2008 00:08

It's obviously jealousy constance.

unknownrebelbang · 04/08/2008 00:11

DH is gingery, and would have been left-handed, had his father not forced him to use his right hand .

ConstanceWearing · 04/08/2008 00:13

Doubt it. I'm a munter

But d'you know what - I've been walking down the road and had people shout at me 'oi, ginger minge' etc. The whole of the street looks at you, and you feel bloody ashamed of yourself. for what? Having hair?

It made my childhood a misery, and I'm so obviously not over it yet

ConstanceWearing · 04/08/2008 00:14

but thank you for your support, pot pourri

thumbwitch · 04/08/2008 00:17

Just found a couple of other threads who are getting peed off with the title of this one - serious lack of humour going on out there. Shame. I am enjoying it.

I am ambidextrous by the way - can't get anything completely right.

ConstanceWearing · 04/08/2008 00:26

Oops. Just read the rest of the thread. Hem hem.

You found my Achille's heel, clearly

thumbwitch · 04/08/2008 00:30

understandable if you missed the start of it Constance
I used to go out with a total bastard bloke who used to tell me that gingers stink of piss. I have NO idea at all why I spent any time with him, I think I was having some kind of mental breakdown at the time. I do still get arsey with people who insult ginger hair in seriousness, though.

solidgoldbrass · 04/08/2008 00:34

Well I would be sad if they did as I have a bit of a ginger fetish (mmm, marmalade pubes.)

ConstanceWearing · 04/08/2008 00:42

Thank you TW. Am even now changing my name to 'Over-reactionJackson'

SGB they don't taste nice, they just looks beautiful
