but they love it!!

i can understand not wanting them dressed head to toe in the stuff but do you not even buy small items like wellies, slippers, trainers, dressing gowns, swimwear, socks, pants, vests etc with them on??

bizarre!!

OverMyDeadBody · 18/07/2008 19:01

I only allow cool character clothing

butwhybutwhy · 18/07/2008 19:02

As much as I tried not to I gave in.
They do love it so its hard not to.

My ds's face when he puts on Thomas the Tank socks

LongLiveGreenElizabeth · 18/07/2008 19:02

I do. Pyjamas! And Disney knickers! Which my DD loves

My son wears a Fireman Sam outfit, yellow trousers and red jacket and he loves it. He has 2 pairs of the yellow trousers. What the heck?

Does that make me a total chav?

schneebly · 18/07/2008 19:02

Mine have some character clothing - mainly PJ's but the odd t-shirt and sweatshirt too.

MsDemeanor · 18/07/2008 19:02

Only pants. Disney princess pants to be precise. Nobody can see those!

PortAndLemon · 18/07/2008 19:02

DS gets character pyjamas, socks and underpants (and some non-character versions, too).

TheCrackFox · 18/07/2008 19:03

Ds2(3yrs) has a couple of Mr Men T-shirts from M & S and I bloody love them.

Character pants are very good for potty training.

Buda · 18/07/2008 19:03

PJs, undies etc are OK.

Have bought DS a few t-shirts of various characters - enough to make him happy but not ott.

Now all he wants to wear is football kit!

2point4kids · 18/07/2008 19:04

I hate it but as soon as DS got to the age where he is so excited by it I gave in straight away.
He has all character pj's, one Thomas T shirt and spiderman pants!

cocolepew · 18/07/2008 19:04

Sod the Dcs I have a spongebob t shirt

objectivity · 18/07/2008 19:04

Only pants. And only boy pants as the Disney Princess ones make me want to vom. Sorry.

I saw a really cool T shirt in River Island recently (for me) but then realised it was a MickeyMouse item. Yuk.

nappyaddict · 18/07/2008 19:06

really only pants? you can't see vests either. and not many people see you in your slippers or dressing gown...

OP posts:
beansmum · 18/07/2008 19:07

Pants, yes. Everything else, only if they are characters I like and secretly wish I could have on my clothes.

cocolepew · 18/07/2008 19:08

We have pjs, pants, socks and T-shirts of
Disney Princesses
Spongebob
Scooby-Doo
Dora
Bratz
Dr. Who

objectivity · 18/07/2008 19:08

But I see them!

I could do vests I suppose, but I like nice white unadulterated vests. Slippers? No way! I'd see them all evening.

ButterflyMcQueen · 18/07/2008 19:08

no none nada
he does not know many characters anyway as he does not watch tv

beansmum · 18/07/2008 19:09

ds doesn't have vests, slippers or a dressing gown. And I would still have to see him in them if he did.

PortAndLemon · 18/07/2008 19:09

DS has never worn a vest in his life (unless you are counting baby vests). I suppose I could daub a character on his chest in body paint if it will make you happy...

ButterflyMcQueen · 18/07/2008 19:13

why is it bizarre not to?

nappyaddict · 18/07/2008 19:16

and you don't see socks either ... don't get it!

OP posts:
chocolatespiders · 18/07/2008 19:17

never really thought about it but just have and we havent got any

dd1- 10 used to have bob the builder clothes

dd2- 4 hasnt any

ChirpyGirl · 18/07/2008 19:19

DD didn't until she grew into her bag of hand me downs from her (boy) cousins.
She knew Fireman Sam as he is her best mate's favourite toy so she went speechless with hysteria at the thought of Fireman Sam PJ's.
They got worn nearly every day (no, not night, day) until the logo peeled off.

Sha also asked for a Dora top last time she filled ehr pasta jar, which I duly bought, she wore proudly once, and now refuses to wear, ditto rest of character tops, she will only wear unlogoed tops now, spots and stripes are fine, but no logos/pictures.
I miss them!

beansmum · 18/07/2008 19:19

Do your kids actually want this stuff? ds always comes shopping with me and has never asked for any character clothing. He doesn't watch much tv though and isn't at school yet so I suppose he'll change.
