This burgundy set has caught my eye. Thought it looked nice for Autumn. What do people think of it? Where could I wear it and what would it go with.

This is the fugliest top I have ever seen.

There is real snobbery on S&B OP, dont come back unless you are linking to an obscure Japanese designer who charges 10k for a set made of snail skin, nothing over a size 2 obvs.

I personally don't get the appeal of co-ords and you never see them around here, but some of these responses are just vile. I'm sorry you've had such unpleasant comments on what is a perfectly inoffensive outfit.

I love a set. However in reality they look like pjs so I do have a few but I wear them around the house. In fact, you’ve reminded me, I have a nice striped set that isn’t as comfy as pjs so I need to return it!!

The design and colour of the top I really like. It's the material and price which is not so good. With polyester, it could get sweaty. Up close, the material looks a bit cheap.

I saw something similar in Primark the other day, a lot cheaper and almost identical to what you have linked. The Primark ones looked nice from a distance but the material again was very synthetic looking.

Burgundy is a gorgeous colour, perfect for autumn/winter.

The coord I got looked nice but it was quite scratchy- from next. I’m going to have a look at M and S.

What does fugliest mean - not heard that expression before - guessing you are not complimenting my taste 🤣 actually wearing the creamy coloured one today and not feeling fugly at all

I think its perfect for what you describe you want it for. What does it matter what a bunch of strangers from the internet think! If you like it buy it.

I’m not bothered if people say they don’t like something but I do think some of the comments were more taking the mick than constructive replies.

When I asked what would go with it I meant more in terms of black adidas trainers or cream adidas trainers so to speak.

I think it’s nice, expensive though at £64 for the bottoms and top. I’ve got similar from Tkmaxx for half the price… Also got a very similar one in Tesco last year for £25.

I probably wouldn’t want it in purple but if it was a more neutral colour like black or navy then it’s the sort of thing I like, I would more than likely wear the top and bottoms with other things but I like the fact that you’ve a matching set if you want it.

I'm hijacking your thread, though, @Gettingcosy13, to complain about PURPLE! I'd really like some proper purple for my wardrobe about now. I'm finding a whole bunch of stuff called purple, and none of it is! It's burgundy, brown, grey, pink or wishy-washy shades of lilac.

Where's the purple? And why is everything pretending to be purple when it's not?!

I think I should have clarified my position better in the beginning 🤣 I work from home part time and most of my free time is doing school runs, ferrying kids to their clubs, popping to the high street, having friends over for coffee, going for a walk, maybe going to the cinema or out for coffee.

I have sensory problems with clothing and like clothes that are comfy enough to feel like pyjamas but that I can still nip out in. It’s also usually very mild in autumn so fed up of heavy tracksuits.

I'm in England and it's been very warm for most of the summer.

To be fair no one recommended stuff three times the price and people can’t guess you just wanted to know what colour of trainers, or as said that you only intended to wear round the house or on errands. People can only go on what you actually write,

im a little concerned you did really like it and saw it as going out out clothes and now feel a little embarassed and trying to position it differently , hence your comments about posh people and how you like to dress like the other women near you

it’s fine, but for me, a bit expensive for what it is, the top can be worn with jeans or trousers, the bottoms with a hoodie or T-shirt etc,but honestly if you like it, then get it, as one things for sure, everyone has different tastes and styles and for many people responding there is a potential you’d look at them in real life and think they are the last person you’d take style advise from. 😜

Have you noticed, also, that for several years retailers have been describing mid grey as "charcoal grey". Charcoal is almost black and years ago, "charcoal grey" was almost black - now it appears to be any shade from mid grey.

Well, I don't think the one I suggested was TOO crazily over budget! Just over £100 as opposed to £65 - & nicer fabric that will wear better.

Neither is my kind of thing (as I don't really do leisure wear!), but I think if you don't care about it being polyester & not wearing well or the environmental side of things, then I would buy a cheaper set somewhere else - as I don't think the RI one is worth the money.

For me, personally, I'm trying to buy less & buy better, for environmental reasons, but I am also on a limited budget. I've always been a huge fan of charity shops & fleamarkets & car-boot sales &, in the last 20 years or so, eBay, Etsy & now Vinted etc. Vintage & secondhand is my preferred way of shopping, & always has been a bit of a thing for me. And you get much better quality for your money! So I like to try & persuade people on S&B threads to consider that themselves, & if they don't want to go down the Vinted/eBay route, to at least buy better.

As I think "lounge sets" probably originated with Juicy Couture etc, there aren't exactly any vintage ones out there for me to recommend, funnily enough ...!!! So in the absence of those, I just tried to find you something in better quality, more environmentally friendly fabric.

So of course you're completely entitled to buy what you want, I was just trying to explain my own PoV & why I recommended something different. I hope none of that sounded snobbish.

Now, if you really want to feel relaxed AND look good, both indoors & out, this should impress the neighbours when you're putting the bins out ... 😁!!!

Bloody hell the price! I work from home most days or at the gym, and even at work it's jeans and a nice top.

For comfortable clothes that look stylish it's not necessarily about the price but it's about being able to choose things like look more expensive than they actually were in my opinion. It's more fun and challenging to look stylish on a budget
